Captain Peter Ogle, retired Navy aviator and current president of the Ranger Foundation, spoke to the club about efforts to preserve the USS Ranger aircraft carrier which was decommissioned in 1993; while the Ranger is currently "mothballed" to preserve its condition, the Foundation aims to keep the ship viable through events and tours with the goal of financially sustaining it long-term, though they are seeking regional support including a letter from the Clackamas Rotary Club.

Announcements:
• Andrew Stein invited everyone to attend North Clackamas Chamber of
Commerce’s Business After Hours event. This event is special as it will be a
70th birthday celebration for Wilda Parks, Chamber CEO.
• Jim Egly generously gave away his tickets to the Sunriver Jeld-Wen Golf
Tournament this weekend as he will be unable to make it.
• Joan Smith gave a heads up that there will be one more new list on the way to
help collect backpack items. This is the last week to make a financial donation
or purchase items on your own to give towards the backpacks.
• Bill McCracken gave away his tickets to the County Fair BBQ as he will be
unable to make it.
• Thomas Joseph announced that Lori DeRemer is the new mayor of Happy
Valley. Congratulations Lori!
• Mike Berrevoets
updated the group on
the Baseball Bet.
• Joyce Forsyth also
generously donated two
clubhouses passes for
general admission and
parking at Pumpkin
Ridge.
Brags and Fines – Renee continued her Sergeant of Arms duties despite
Dave’s tardy arrival.
• Renee King – Started the brags by explaining her absences to meetings due
to some great media opportunities for Providence Health & Services. AND
Walker’s home tonight!
• Nick Krautter – Is now the new Managing Director at his office and
VERY excited about it.
• Michael Reggiani – Has been out with family at several soccer
tournaments. But he is proud to mention that Sophia flew a plane while
they were in Sunriver as part of an event for Sunrise Rotary Club.
• Larry Duncan – Represented the donations at his table but not the voice.
• Earl Culbertson – Nice to have Dave Wildermuth back.

• Dave Wildermuth – Visited Kenya Rotary Club and presented their
flag to Joyce. Also thanked Joyce, Jim, Kyle and Renee (belatedly)
for filling in at Sergeant of Arms while he was away.
• Rick Rogoway – Went out for drinks
with a few fellow Rotarians, including
Ken McClintock, who ordered a frou-
frou drink but missed the drink
umbrella! But Rick saved the day by
presenting Ken with his very own box of
umbrellas so that Ken will never have to
go without again!
• Bill McCracken – Missed getting hit by
a tire from I-205 S while headed to lunch
today. Glad you made it unharmed Mr.
Bill!
• Ken McClintock – Told a story
about ME trying to cut bread a
few weeks ago. He has since
learned that if he wants to sit
with me, he needs to be wary of
“sawdust” and Shauna’s knife-
wielding cutting stance.
• Shauna Lugar – I need my fellow
Rotarians support over the next
year with the Four Way Test. My
brother-in-law is moving in
and…yup, I’ll need all the
support I can get!

• Kim Trewhella – Thanked the club for the flowers for her and her family
as they go through this difficult time. Thank you all for the amazing
support.
• Joan Smith – Ashla finally got a job working at an assisted living facility in
Klamath Falls. They are now in the process of moving Ashla to Klamath
Falls. Also wanted to say she had fun doing Rotary parking and spending
some quality time with Clackamas Rotarians.
• Conrad Johnson – He’s back from Canada and also wanted to echo Kim’s
moving thanks to the club for their support.
• Shirish Patel – Despite what you might hear from Ed Gronke, our club is
the BEST club. Also wanted to send him well wishes to Nick aka
“Blondie” as he leaves for France. And finally, he had fun with Maggie at
the Rodeo parking. He fit in with the cowboys by wearing the jeans he
receives last year for Rodeo parking and even taught Maggie a driving
lesson using a golf cart.
• Renee – Chimed in to say she was cheated out of signing up for Rodeo
parking as Sunday there are no cowboys (motocross and derby day).
• Susan Lehr – Also wanted to give kudos to Shauna Lugar for recovering
from a traumatic golf cart experience and redeeming herself on Tuesday.
However, if she wants to stay ahead of the cowboys in the future, she
needs to hit the gas a little more. Also, thank you to Rick Rogoway for
being the drop off point for school backpack supplies and cleaning Susan’s
beautiful rings.
• Carolyn Hoffman – Didn’t catch her brag but it was nice to see her all the
same!
• Diane Weber – Thank you for the parking help. There’s still some extra
places to sign up if anyone is interested in helping.
• Glenn Rissberger – Had fun at Rode parking but also wanted to let
“Blondie” know that there are great technology experiences to be gained in
France NOT just great wine experience.
• Bill McCracken – Also wanted to let everyone know that he will be out
next week at Ashland and making up there.
Some of our Canby Rodeo Parking Team.
