Role of intermediaries in Helping Youth Programs Grow In Every High Poverty A...Daniel Bassill
This pdf shows the intermediary role Tutor/Mentor Connection (1993-present) and Tutor/Mentor Institute, LLC (2011-present) have taken in connecting volunteers, donors, resource providers in Chicago to more than 180 volunteer-based non-school tutor and/or mentor programs located in the region and to an extensive web library full of research and articles showing why and where these programs are most needed, and how to build and sustain long-term programs.
It's an information based strategy that could be duplicated in any city to help support youth as the move through school and into adult lives.
While the strategy was developed in Chicago it can be applied in any place in the world with areas of concentrated poverty.

Russian anarchist and anti-war movement in the third year of full-scale warAntti Rautiainen
Anarchist group ANA Regensburg hosted my online-presentation on 16th of May 2024, in which I discussed tactics of anti-war activism in Russia, and reasons why the anti-war movement has not been able to make an impact to change the course of events yet. Cases of anarchists repressed for anti-war activities are presented, as well as strategies of support for political prisoners, and modest successes in supporting their struggles.

Youth Entrepreneurs· Georgia Launches Chairman's Circle Society, Recognizes 10-Year Milestone
Founder and Chairman Elizabeth Kochand Georgia-Pacific ExecutivesJim Hannan and CurleyDossman,Jr. Host Inaugural Reception
ATLANTA, GA (May 19, 2016) - Youth Entrepreneurs· Georgia (YEGeorgia)is launching the Chairman's Circle, its first major giving
society for business and community leaders committed to making entrepreneurship education a philanthropic priority across the
Atlanta area and the state of Georgia. The launch will kick off with an inaugural reception for invited guests on Thursday, May 19, 6
p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Center for Civil and Human Rights in downtown Atlanta.
Guests will have an opportunity to meet the evening's hosts, who are three of YEGeorgia's biggest and most passionate supporters:
Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors Elizabeth Koch; Georgia-Pacific President and CEO Jim Hannan; and Georgia-Pacific
Foundation President Curley M. Dossman, Jr.
Mrs. Koch started Youth Entrepreneurs" Kansas in Wichita in 1991 and was instrumental in bringing the idea to Atlanta. Sheis the wife
of Charles Koch, chief executive officer of Koch Industries, Inc., one of the largest privately owned companies in the country and the
parent company of Atlanta-based Georgia-Pacific. Georgia-Pacific has been a major supporter of YEGeorgia since its inception through
the leadership and efforts of Mr. Dossman and Mr. Hannan.
Membership in YEGeorgia's Chairman's Circle is open to individuals and small businesses investing $10,000, $5,000 or $2,500 and to
corporations and foundations contributing $50,000, $25,000 or $10,000. Donations made during 2016 will earn each the distinction
of being "founding members" of the Chairman's Circle. Founding members currently are some of Atlanta most prestigious corporate
citizens, including Georgia-Pacific, Chick-fil-A, The Coca-Cola Foundation and Wells Fargo, among many others.
YEGeorgialaunched in 2006 with 38 students at two Atlanta public high schools. Its core component is a classroom elective course
that exposes middle school and high school students to a rigorous, award-winning curriculum and interactive experiences that instill
practical business knowledge, promote an entrepreneurial way of thinking and inspire them to prosper and create value for their
communities and society as a whole. Since its inception, the program has impacted about 2,000 students and today it is offered in
more than a dozen middle and high schools in the City of Atlanta and Cobb, DeKalband Gwinnett counties. YEGeorgia's efforts have
attracted national attention and recognition, including a 2016 True Inspiration Award from the Chick-fil-A Foundation, for its
commitment to developing business knowledge, entrepreneurial skills and financial literacy in young people.
"What began as an educational experiment in the heart of Atlanta has successfully impacted hundreds of students and teachers over
the past 10 years," says Scott Brown, YEGeorgia's executive director. "We are now primed for our next level of successas we expand
into more classrooms acrossGeorgia, with a goal of reaching 1,000 new students a year by 2020. With the support from our Chairman's
Circle and other generous donors, I know we can do it and young people's lives and futures will be the better for it."
