Writing An Essay Intro
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Writing An Essay Intro" may initially appear deceptively
simple, as one might assume it involves merely introducing a topic. However, delving into the
intricacies reveals a nuanced challenge that demands a delicate balance of creativity, precision,
and strategic thinking.
The difficulty lies in the art of capturing the reader's attention from the very beginning. Crafting
an engaging introduction involves more than just presenting facts or stating the thesis; it requires
a thoughtful blend of hooking the audience, providing context, and subtly hinting at the essay's
purpose. The challenge intensifies when considering the diverse preferences of readers and the
necessity to cater to a broad audience.
Moreover, there's the constant pressure to avoid clichГ©s and predictability. Crafting a unique,
memorable introduction demands a level of creativity that can be elusive, especially when faced
with a plethora of essays on similar topics. Striking the right chord with the readers without
resorting to overused tactics can be a daunting task.
Additionally, the task requires a keen understanding of the essay's broader structure. The
introduction should not exist in isolation but seamlessly set the stage for the subsequent sections.
Achieving this coherence while maintaining clarity is a delicate balancing act that many find
challenging.
In conclusion, while the topic might seem straightforward at first glance, writing an essay on
"Writing An Essay Intro" unveils layers of complexity. It necessitates a blend of creativity,
precision, and an acute awareness of the broader essay structure. Crafting an introduction that
resonates with readers, avoids clichГ©s, and seamlessly integrates with the rest of the essay is an
intricate task that demands time, effort, and skill.

Essay about The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
The Bell Jar by Sylvia PlathOne is often enticed to read a novel because of the way
in which the characters are viewed and the way in which characters view their
surroundings. In the novel The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, Esther Greenwood is a
character whose heightened and highly emotional response to events, actions and
sentiments (Assignment sheet) intrigue the reader. One of her character traits is
extreme paranoia that is shown in different situations throughout the novel. As a
result of this, she allows herself to be easily let down, as she believes that all events
that are unsatisfactory are directed towards her. Finally, it is clear that she attempts to
escape this notion by imagining an idyllic yet impossible life that she... Show more

Another common attribute of paranoia is the belief that others are plotting
something potentially hurtful. This can be seen in the way that she feels as if she
is being tested by others. She is admitted to a mental institution, and it is apparent
that she is untrustworthy of the motives of others when the doctors visit her: I lay
on my bed under the thick white blanket, and they entered my room, one by one,
and introduced themselves. I couldn t understand why there should be so many of
them, or why they would want to introduce themselves, and I began to think that
they were testing me, to see if I noticed that there were too many of them. (Plath
198) Esther evidently feels as if she is constantly being judged and tested, although
in fact she is not. Her magnified sense of distrust is illustrated repeatedly throughout
the course of the book, at once involving the reader and developing her own
characteristic response to unique situations. Finally, one who views occurrences
which can only be categorized as coincidental as being planned often experiences a
suspicious response. When she finds out that an acquaintance from high school is at
the same hospital, her first reaction is wariness: It occurred to me that Joan, hearing
where I was, had engaged the room at the asylum on pretence, simply as a joke.
(Plath 207). Although the reader is incredulous of the protagonist s manner of
thought, it is also possible to feel a connection to the situation. Such a

Tendons are one of the most important tissues in the body of any organism,
transferring the power created by the muscles to the bones and allowing coordinated
body movements to occur. However, until recently there was very little known about
the origin of this tissue and most of the research performed focused on the limbs and
the tendons associated with them. Along with the limited amount of research it
seemed that not of them were focused on the axial and ventrolateral body wall
tendons. It was not until later that the discovery of Scleraxis, Scx, which is a bHLH

In situ hybridization was used to visualize Scx expression and QCPN to identify
quail cells. The two layers of sclerotome transplanted from quail to chick indicated
that quail cells produced Scx tendon progenitors and sclerotome. It also produced a
complete set of tendon progenitors between the myotome layers, indicating they
arose from both chick and quail cells. While transplanted quail and host chick
sclerotome indicated that the Scx expressing cells were entirely produced by quail
cells. This observation suggested that Scx expressing cells between two layers of
myotome form from the anterior and posterior edges to two adjacent somites. On the
other hand, two adjacent dermomyotome layers did not produce any Scx expressing
tendon progenitors but, it did produce myotome and dermotome. This observation
lead to the conclusion that the dermomyotome produces myotome and the sclerotome
produces the syndetome. These results raised the question: why is Scx expression
only being observed on the anterior and posterior boundaries of the somite closest to
the myotome and if a signal from the myotome was responsible for the observed
The Beginning Of World War I And Commencement Of A...
The year of 1914 marked the beginning of World War I and the commencement of a
tumultuous era for politics, society and art. Amongst the considerable number of
people negatively affected by the dreadfulness of the war, many of them found
different ways of expressing their repugnance towards the horrific routes that
humanity had taken. The Dadamovement in particular began not only as a reaction
against the war but also as a commentary on the social circumstances that lead to it.
This essay reflects on the context that allowed the art movement to flourish and the
circumstances that lead to its decline. The rise of machinery, mass production,
fascism and overall disillusionment with society provided an ideal environment for
radical movements to emerge.
The First World War was one of the greatest military conflicts to be observed in
recent history, happening during a time when humanity was rapidly advancing, to
the point that it seemed unlikely for society to fall in such disarray s quickly. Most
people were astonished by this decline and it stirred a certain sense of antipathy in
the general public, antipathy towards politics, towards the bourgeois who had
control over everything at the time and, most of all, antipathy towards the
weaknesses and errors of the people who were so eager to praise their nations yet
allowed their countries to join in the chaotic massacre of the war.
Art has always had an important relation to its historical context and, naturally, this

to a chair and seems to be the one that is being interrogated but she is heard talking
on the phone with an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D stating that she was in the middle of an
interrogation and could not be interrupted at that particular moment and also that the
Russian criminals were giving her all the information that she needed in which
further lets the audience know that she has intentionally allowed for herself to be put
into this situation on purpose in order to get this information from these Russian
criminals by letting them think that they had control over her and the situation at

Black Widow is interrupted by the phone call she decides that she has all the
information that she needed and ends the interrogation early and as easily as she

The Movie Pulp Fiction By Quentin Tarantino
The movie Pulp Fiction(1994) was directed by Quentin Tarantino is regarded as
one of the best movies ever made and especially for the gangster film genre it is
quite unique. It can be argued that Pulp fiction is or isn t a gangster movie but
there are enough signs to prove that it s definitely is a gangster film. This movie
focuses rather on the morality of decisions and about the character s internal
conflict and the karma that the character s receive. Not only is there karam
associated with their actions but a chance for redemption . All of these things add
for a wonderful gangster movie but it is missing some very conventional aspects of
the genre that definitely set it apart from the rest. The first time that the characters
are seen with the questioning of morality is in the very beginning of the film with
Vincent Vega(John Travolta) and Jules(Samuel L. Jackson). The conversation starts
out about their bosses new wife Mia Wallace(Uma Thurman) and how was laying
her hands on her in familial way and gave her a foot massage. This caused
Marcellus Wallace(Ving Rhames) to throw Antwone out the window four stories and
give him permanent nerve damage. Jules thinks that reaction that Marcellus has was
too far and that it was just foot massage, while Vincent says I ve given a million
ladies a million foot massages and they all meant something and we act like they don

Censorship In Stalin s Chaos Instead Of Music
Stalin s immense displeasure after viewing this opera precipitated the official
condemnation of Shostakovich. In a Soviet newspaper, called the Pravda,
Shostakovich and his opera were bitterly attacked as formalist, bourgeois, course, and
vulgar. The article, its title directly translated to Chaos Instead of Music and written
anonymously, describes the orchestral score as shrieking and claims the operas
success abroad was due to the perverted taste of the west, rather than Shostakovich s
brilliance (Sumbur vmeste muzyki). Subsequently, his income dropped by three
quarters and even critics who praised the opera were forced to recant what they had

A Life Worth Living In Jojo Moyes s After You
I loved a man who had opened up a world to me but hadn t loved me enough to stay
in it. is a very popular quote from the breathing novel After You by Jojo Moyes.
After You is the sequal to Me Before You which leaves Louisa an entirely different
character. When she took the job as Will s caregiver, she never thought his choice
to medically kill himself would leave her the way it did. After You goes throught
the motions of the people left to mourn Will s death, specifically Louisa. The theme
of this book can easily be narrowed down to living, Lou is left to figure out how to
put together a life worth living. Since she has been without Will, her life hasn t been
much of anything, this story shows her journey back to living. The theme of living...

feel like a mother. They had an incredible relationship, they were best friends,

things that defined them as individuals. Neither of them wanted to let go of this so
they worked everyday to respect each other and grow stronger. Lily started
working, Lou started dating to some extent and they found happiness in their little

The Forces Removal of Children from their Parents in Ayn...
There are just over fifty countries in the world that are currently run by dictators and
the severity of the dictatorship varies from country to country. Some dictators can be
relatively kind in their rule where others can be very harsh. One thing that happens in
these harsh dictatorships is that children are removed from their parents at birth.
Though the reasons for this differ in many ways, three of the most prominent are that
children learn from their parents, it focuses the children on their job or goal assigned
to them, and that there will be favoritism between the parents and the children over
other people.
Passed on knowledge can be a real problem to a fearful dictator. There is a saying,
knowledge is power . This statement is very true because knowledge has the ability
to open the eyes of people to things unseen. It allows for exploration and sometimes
rebellion. The rebellion factor of this is what scares dictators. If children are allowed
to live with their parents, the parents have the opportunity to let the children know
things about the past and what is wrong with the world. If the children knew of this
they might have the ability to stand together and rebel against the government.
The only benefit to removing a child from its home with the parents, is that it allows
the child to become focused on the duty they are given by the ruler. When the child
is taken from the home, they lose the distraction of having a family. They may
become a more productive
Difference between the US and UK Politial Systems
Possibly the most essential difference amid the United States and United Kingdom
political systems is the constitution or the absence of one. The United States has a
written constitution as does a large majority of nation states. The British do not have
a distinct article called the constitution but in its place its constitutional necessities are
scattered over numerous Acts of Parliament. The United States Constitutionis difficult
to adjust and in present political conditions, maybe impracticable to change in any
significant respect. The Equal Rights Amendment which fought to provide equal
rights for women failed and there has been no victorious amendment of the US
Constitution except for one technical measure since 1971. What for realistic purposes
constitutes the British Constitution numerous Acts of Parliament can be altered by a
simple majority in the legislature. For example, the current Government presented set
terms for the House of Commons by passing the needed legislation. In the United
States, political dialogue regularly makes references to the constitution, usually
Republicans arguing that Democratic proposals are Unlawful . Above and beyond the
fact that the United Kingdomdoes not obtain a constitution as such, it is uncommon
for British politicians to dispute that the actions or proposals of their opponents are
unlawful. An essential characteristic of the American constitution is the firm
separation of the power of the administrative, the legislature
Context In Norman Rockwell s Freedom Of Want
The context of an argument is the most crucial part as it shapes the main idea and
the way it is perceived. There four types of context to be addressed when evaluating
an argument. These contexts are historical, which is all about the time period and
setting of the argument, physical, which is where the argument was found and
published, political, which is about who the author is, and social, which is about the
audience it is directed to. Norman Rockwells painting of Freedom of Want was
published on March 6th, 1943 and a perfect example of how the context will shape
the argument portrayed. The following sources provide further clarification on how
the context surrounding the painting expresses Rockwell s vision of the ideal
America more clearly.:

Bulosan piece reflects the painting Freedom of Want as he expresses the ideal
vision of America and how comes about when people are free from wanting.
Bulosan explains that Americas best version of itself and when it thrives the most is
when people are being satisfied with basic wants like food. When the American
people are satisfied and healthy, Bulson says that is when people start to appreciate
and connect with the freedom that is given to them. Democracy is not a working

Student Athletes And Academic Achievement
Nonexperimental Research (McMillan, 2012, p.13): Nonexperimental research is a
quantitative research design in which the researcher has no control over any of the
variables or factors within a study, and thus cannot influence the behavior of the
subjects of the study.
This phrase relates to a study that I may conduct because I would like to investigate
how student athletes academic achievement compares to that of non student athletes.
In such an investigation, I would have no over influence over whether or a not a
student participated in athletics nor their academic achievement. I would only be able
to analyze data and determine if there were a relationship between the variables.
Experimental Research (McMillan, 2012, p. 14): Experimental research is a
quantitative research design in which the researcher has control over one or more of
the variables within a study, which allows the researcher to influence the behavior of
its subjects. The purpose of this type of research is to observe is there are causal
relationship between the controlled factor and other factors.
This term relates to a study that I might conduct because I am interested in testing the
effects of weekday practice times of high school sport teams on the academic
achievement. In this experiment, I would manipulate the behavior of the subjects by
controlling the number of hours that teams spent practicing on weekday afternoons.

Analysis Of IRL Fetish By Nathan Jurgenson
The rapid expansion of technological advancement is engulfing our culture. The
author of IRL Fetish, Nathan Jurgenson argues that people have a weird interest in
the world of offline. Technological advances are leading people into the realm of
online, but Jurgenson also realizes the glorification of movement to offline. People
who believe online world is destroying the real life connection and many writers
lament, Writer after writer laments the loss of a sense of disconnection, of
boredom (now redeemed as a respite from anxious info cravings) ... (Jurgenson
127). People who are saying technological advances is removing people from the
real life so they think they can create a world where online does not exist. This new
movement is educating the world that phone must be put away and boast about
being offline. In IRL Fetish by Nathan Jurgenson, the author illustrates the practice
of fetishizing of the offline world creates a misrepresentation of online and the
offline world. In the article, Jurgenson highlights many details how people are
boasting about their self control to stay offline. One example is when the author
mentions about Turkle s experience at Cape Cod. Turkle leads the chorus that
insists that taking time out is becoming dangerously difficult and that we need to
follow their lead and log off (127). Jurgenson criticizes her and people who are like
her because these people are focusing too much on the idea of offline, and they
naГЇvely think they can escape the
Arterial Oxygen Saturation
It is known that as altitude increases, atmospheric pressure decreases, as does the
partial pressure of oxygen (Hall Table 44 1). That same table demonstrates that the
partial pressures of both oxygen and carbon dioxide in the alveoli decrease as well.
However, the alveolar water vapor pressure remains unchanged constant at 47mmHg
no matter the altitude (Hall 561). The most deleterious result of these factors is that
less oxygenis being delivered to the tissues. Fortunately for me, Guyton and Hall
says that altitude has a relatively insignificant effect on arterial oxygen saturation at
9,000ft (Hall Figure 44 1). It is not until 10,000ft that arterial oxygen saturation
begins to steeply decline. The physical affects of acute hypoxia according to Hall are
drowsiness, lassitude, mental and muscle fatigue, sometimes headache, occasionally
nausea, and sometimes euphoria. These effects progress to a stage of twitchings or
seizures above 18,000 feet and end,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to an article in Oxford Journals, one of the first steps in acclimitization
is polycythemia. This increase in red blood cells can be seen within the first two
days of ascension. However, the author is quick to point out that it is nonetheless a
slow process and therefore not nearly as vital to acclimitization as the other factors
that come into play, the most crucial of which is the increase pulmonary ventilation
(West). Low oxygen is immediately sensed by chemoreceptors in the carotid and
aortic bodies, which then send signals to the respiratory centers of the brain, resulting
in an increase in respiration. In a matter of only days, acclimitization increases our:
pulmonary ventilation, concentration of red blood cells, lung diffusing capacity,
vascularity of tissues, and ability of cells to use oxygen (Hall
Some Voices From The Campaign Trail
After more than a week in an effort to put into writing my thoughts and feelings
concerning the film that was shown in class: Right America: Feeling Wronged
Some Voices from the Campaign Trail , I find myself still at a loss, with the same
words repeatedly coming into my mind. It was amusing, yet sad, to see so many
people, the majority of the ones interviewed for this film not really knowing
anything definitive of the questions asked. But they were so certain that if Obama
was elected president, the country was headed for disaster in a hand basket . The
country would become a socialistic one, and they did not know what socialism was,
and terrorism would become more rampant, with the country going into bankruptcy.

But the scene that was paramount in getting my attention was one man s
xenophobic rage that evolved into a teary eyed response for the country he feels is

only between black and white, rich and poor, or red and blue, but between the
educated and the uneducated a fact exemplified routinely by the incessant criticism
of Obama s tenure at Harvard. The people shown were surprisingly ignorant,
repeating the smears and myths about Obama s refusal to salute the flag,
accusations about his religion, and the place of his birth. One woman s disgust at
Obama s supposed removal of his flag pin is downright pathological as if wearing
one is a constitutional requirement and not simply a fashion accessory of the hyper
patriotic and politically insecure. A young man rejects Obama s socialism but cannot
define or even spell the word. Even those in the film who seem rational compared

The Benefits Of Technology In Education
If there were any facet of life that could be labeled as changing at light speed, that
industry would have to be technology. Technology is changing at such a rapid pace
most consumers can barely keep up. Gadget users are just getting used to their shiny
new smartphones when another upgrade is rolling off the production lines. Beyond
hand held technology, computing devices are light years better than technological
tools of the past. One area that technology has heavily impacted is that of education.
While technology has changed the landscape of the mainstream classroom, it has
completely changed the realm of instruction for children diagnosed with Autism
Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other disabilities. Since 2015, I have served in various
roles within the Special Education department of Frederick County Public Schools.
Having worked closely with some of the most challenged students, I have personally
witnessed the benefits of technology for students diagnosed with Autism. Technology
is beyond helpful; however, it is continuously changing at a rapid pace that causes
school staff and parents always to be evaluating what tool is best for the student.
Devices and applications are not only transforming the classroom, but that are giving
individuals with ASD more freedom and confidence than ever before. Finally, parents
and school staff must be intentional about finding the correct device and apps for the
students and integrate them with intentionality.

Sociocultural Analysis Of Taiwan
Taiwan Sociocultural Analysis Athena L. Guidry SLC Class 001 18 Taiwan
Sociocultural Analysis Taiwan is an island that is a part of the continent of Asia.
Asiatic cultures vary from Western culture and require sociological and cultural
analysis to completely understand. The New World Encyclopedia online resource
defines culture in an easy to understand way. According to New World
Encyclopedia (2013), Culture is a complex of features held by a social group,
which may be as small as a family or a tribe, or as large as a racial or ethnic group,
a nation, or in the age or globalization, by people all over the world (Defining
culture, para.1). Taiwan is the topic of sociocultural analysis in this essay. Five
major characteristics that define a culture are that it is learned, it is social, shared,
transmitted and continuous (Farooq 2011). Taiwan is rich in culture, food, art and
religion. Geographically, according to McGuigan (n.d.), Taiwan is a relatively small
island off the south east coast of mainland China, Taiwan occupies a unique position
both politically and culturally (Taiwan Culture Tradition, para. 1). World Atlas online
states that about two thirds of Taiwan is a rugged mountain landscape with the
Chung yang Shan range (central) dominating the island, and some 200 peaks
exceeding 9,840 ft. (3,000 m) (Taiwan Geography para.1). To select one common
characteristic of Taiwan culture is difficult because the Taiwanese people are made

the new environment. He chooses neither. Instead, he exceeds the preposition and
completely submits to the savagery. Jack commits hateful, cruel acts. He kills
Simon as well as condemning the death of Piggy. He dresses up in camouflage and
aggressively kills animals. For example, Jack made a rush and stabbed at Ralph s
chest with his spear.... They were chest to chest, breathing fiercely, pushing and
glaring (177). This shows his complete transformation. Ralph hadn t transformed
like Jack, and didn t feel the constant pressure. Jack constantly needed more power
and more fear. He needed to devote himself to the island. He wanted to act upon all
evil urges. As stated, They were savages it was true; We see now from Ralph s
side, that Jack twisted the tribes mind like a devil would to the point of making
them little savages (185). Since Jack had yielded, he had to turn everyone else too.
Jack resembles Gimpel in many ways. As Gimpel was confronted with darkness
that altered the way he thought about the world, so was Jack. Both characters allow
urges that linger in the back of their mind to assert control. Unlike Ralph, both
characters could not resist temptation. However, Ralph is able to stick with his
morals, even as everything is taken away from him. He is starving, hurt, and truly
alone, yet he still holds onto himself. Ultimately, the evil and hatred Jack possessed
trump Ralphs realistic and fair ideals. This is because of everyone has their own
battles within.

The Westerns Of The 1930 s
Western began in the late eighteen hundreds when a movie was about 10 minutes
long. They started getting popular in Hollywood from the early 20th century to the
1960s. John Ford landmark western adventure Stagecoach became one of the biggest
hits in 1939. Many of the most acclaimed westerns were released during the 1952
1956. Westerns themes have evolved overtime beginning in the silent era, the western
captured movie goers imaginations. Quick drawing, white hat good guys battled the
mustachioed black hats. When sound came into play, men like Mix became obsolete.
Westerns of the 1930s continued on in much the same vein as the decade before. It
was during the 1950s that the genre found its rhythm, as hard charging, hard living

The district leaders rely heavily on data basis that gather sort and produce usable

They should also ensure that each department knows what the other departments are

The Influence Of John Locke On Personal Identity
Locke s main assertion was that personal identity could best be described by the
sameness in awareness or consciousness, and not the sameness in physicality or in
substance. In Locke s view, consciousness was used as a synonym of memory
although he did not specify the perspective i.e whether in first person experienceor in
the second person etc. Therefore, many scholars regard Locke as the originator of the
view that a person s identityon the time continuum consists of memories and the
capacity to remember them. In summary, Locke s view is that a person existing
today is the same person as that who existed many years ago, if he or she can
remember, or has the capacity to remember, the life experiences of the person that
existed in an earlier time (Perry, 114). Some scholars insist that there is a difference
in perspective because knowledge and experience are... Show more content on

Thomas Reid s objection is perhaps the most popular. Reid believed that the
memory theory by Locke was self contradictory and provided his own allegory to
counter Locke s theory (Perry, 115). Locke s anchor thesis was that the personal
identity of an individual was determined by the presence of a memory and not the
similarity of substance. In his allegory to counter the theory, Reid gave an example
of a single person s life events on a time continuum. Initially, Reid began with the
story of a young boy who was flogged for theft. The second life event of the boy,
now as a young man was that of performing various heroic deeds in the army. The
young army officer still maintains a perfect recollection of his childhood flogging.
Reid proceeds to explain the third life event of the young officer, now as an old
general later in life, who remembers about his heroic deeds in battle, but does not
remember about the flogging in his
Biography of Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson was born April 29, 1958 to a working class family in Gary,
Indiana. His parents, Joe and Katherine had ten children and Michael Jackson was
the eighth child. The Jackson family was very musically inclined. Michael s father
played guitar in a small R B band, his mother sang frequently, and his brothers often
sand and played with their father s guitar (Biography on Michael Jackson, 2002).
Michael Jackson was no exception to his family s musical ability.
At the age of four Joe Jackson pushed his children to start a band. This band was
called the Jackson 5. The Jackson 5 quickly rose to fame. The band initially started
playing in local talent shows and then landed a contract with Motown records ... Show

Dangerous was an album of New Jack Swing which was a combination of R B,
Jazz, and funk. This was the most sold New Jack Swing record of all time.
Dangerous not only was significant because of the record it broke but all profits that
were earned form the tour were donated to different charities including the charity
that Michael Jackson ran (Michael Jackson Biography 2014).
Though after these successful times, Michael Jackson s public opinion turned
negative. In 1993, Michael Jackson was accused of sexual abuse by a thirteen year
old boy that Jackson had known. After a year of these allegations Jackson settled
with the family for approximately twenty million dollars, then the police investigation
was dropped (Michael Jackson, 2011) and nothing more with the case was brought up.
Not only did the sexual abuse allegations change the public s opinion of Jackson
but his changing appearance turned people off as well. Michael Jackson began
changing his appearance with plastic surgery and taking drugs to make his skin
white. Michael Jackson was obsessed with the fact that he was aging and wanted to
do all he could to stop the process from appearing on his body (Rolling Stones
Articles, 2009). Michael Jackson did not oblige to these rumors he simply blamed his
skin changing from black to white on a skin pigmentation deficiency. Even as these
rumors were circulating Michael Jackson continued to make music and
Rhetorical Analysis Of NBC News
As my analysis has pointed out, the NBC news article is more neutral in presenting
the selection of people interviewed included, factual information and rhetorical
appeals using pathos while the Fox news article focuses on preserving their bias
views on Dylann Roof s sentencing and biasedly focused on including distracting
information, victim s testimony only and using rhetorical appeals. I chose Fox
news as my more bias source because in the past Fox has been the subject of
several controversies and allegations of bias reporting. In contrast, NBC news has
been mentioned as a more neutral source in reporting news and remaining impartial
in reporting. Based on the bias I uncovered in the Fox news article, I can merely see

The Security Of Data Tightly And Information Security
UCTION
In today s world transformation of data very securely and information security are
the most important categories for the organizations to follow or else the information
can easily be taken away by the enemies. In olden days the organizations used to
follow the encryption and decryption for the transformation of data securely which is
known as cryptography. In cryptography the security of data depends on how strong
the encryption and decryption are said to be used. But it is not very easy for the
sender and receiver to recall all the passwords. So avoid those difficulties crypto
biometric is used which is the combination of biometric and cryptography. The
biometric is a technology that identifies humans with their body uniqueness like
fingerprints, face prints and voice patterns for the validation purposes. In recent year

passwords because the information can be used only by the identified person. But
there are some of the problems that are faced in the biometric. The biometric system
which contains the information should not reveal any biometric features. It should
also have the flexibility of converting the varied data in to the fixed. So, the data

The Effects on Children Who Have Been Raised in a Single Parent Household
Introduction
Single parent house hold s can have many different social, mental, and emotional
effects on the children who are raised in this kind of household. The effects of
children raised by a single parent in the household, whether it is the mother or the
father, are often negative effects. These negative effects include facing Economic
Hardship, lack of support from family, and other emotional and social distress. Stress
is a common factor of these kind of effects. Stress can affect a child and make it
hard for them to succeed in various situations that are crucial to their future. I will be
looking at research and exploring more into the effects of being raised by a single
parent.
For this paper I will be reviewing three scholarly sources on this topic; a research

Relationships in single mother household: Perspectives of Children and Mothers by
Elizabeth Nixon, Shelia Greene and Diane M Hogan published on February of 2012.
Through my research, I will explore more upon what are the effects and the struggles

The Marketing Plan For Hasbro Essay
Arenas Hasbro conducts business within the Toy, Game and Doll Manufacturing
industry. They have strong, brand portfolio that they utilize in a wide variety of
entertainment mediums. Hasbro categorizes their brands into four categories which
they call their brand architecture: franchise, partner, gaming mega, and challenger
brands. Their franchise brands are owned by them and they currently make most of
their revenue from these brands. However, their partner brands are quickly becoming
more important to their business as a majority the company s growth recently has
come from new ones. In addition to the brandarchitecture, they report the financial
performance of their brands by grouping them into four different categories: boys,
girls, games, and preschool. Boys and games has been a majority of their business
mostly, but that is beginning to change recently as their girl brands are beginning to
grow. (10K and Hasbroquarterly reports).Hasbro is a global company that has sales
around the world. They report their sales in four segments: US/ Canada, International,
Entertainment and Licensing, and Global Operations. The International segment is

Stop Selling Tobacco And Tobacco Products
American s spend a startling $156 Billion dollars every year on tobacco and
tobacco related products and an additional $133 Billion dollars on healthcare for
diseases that originate from smoking and chewing tobacco. The human toll is also
significant with a projected 8 million people to die every year by 2030. To combat
these extreme statistics CVS Caremark, now CVS Health, has decided to make the
hard business decision to stop selling tobaccoproducts in all 7,700 of its drug stores.
The decision stemmed from changing its image from a corner store that fills
prescriptions to a health care company that is trying to reinvent the pharmacy to
have a more supportive and active role in health care . To show support for the
idea, petitions have been popping up on Change.com like the one by Michael
Brochstein of New York, New York who is calling for other drug store giant
Walgreens and its subsidiary Duane Read to follow in CVS s footsteps and stop
selling tobacco products also. Proponents of the idea say that if these giants stop
selling tobacco then regular purchasers will have to go elsewhere, making it less
convenient and possibly making smokers move in the right direction, to quit smoking
and hopefully curve the smoking rate as a whole. This is needed because although
smoking has been on the decrease since the early 1990 s, recently getting to a low
of 18% percent of white males being smokers, it is still an epidemic that kills more
people than alcohol, AIDS, car accidents,
Popular Game Show In The 1930 s
In the 1920s, radio was king of the new entertainment world, but by the 1930s
television became the new ruler. The invention of television brought a whole new
type of culture into the United States and beyond. Television had redefined leisure,
bringing what once were typically radio shows to new life. In the late 1940s, news
stations such as NBC and CBS sought to turn over their programs to be part of the
largely profitable new medium. As popularity quickly rose, where in six years the
number of televisionsets in the US jumped from a mere 6,000 to a staggering 12
million by 1951, the networks attempted to keep up by offering new material. Here
enters the ever popular game show.
The first game show in the US was called The $64,000 Question
The Marketing Of Coca Cola
Over the years Coca Cola has produced thousands of advertisements, appealing to
the different senses. Along with trying to maintain a broad enough audience, to
become the number one soda producer in the world. Starting with the vintage
advertisment from 1886, when prohibition laws were being to be passed. This
advertisement was placed near drink fountains, and convenience stores where coca
cola was sold in bottles. The second advertisement was published in May 2015,
currently circulating inside of the Netherlands. Both of the advertisements attempt
to appeal to everyone and anyone, who are in search of personal happiness.
Regardless of the century gap, Coca cola claims to be the drink that produces
happiness and relief from the ecosocial problems experienced throughout everyday
life. Inside of the vintage Coca cola advertisement, is a section of imperialistic
columns. Containing the brand name in circa 1860 calligraphy, followed by
additional imperialistic flare details. Centered in the advertisement is a direct
statement from the company Is a delightful palatable Healthful separated with a
fleur de lis, followed by beverage, men, ladies all in extra bold. Thus stressing that
the drink is the best choice for both men and ladies. A key difference is the
classifications of primary target audiences for men, such as business, professional,
students, wheelmen, and athletes. While for women, it is ladies when thirsty weary

Nazi Death Camp Of World War II
The Holocaust was one of the most horrific time periods where unthinkable and
unimaginable crimes were committed against Jews, Gypsies and other racial groups.
No one could have ever imagined the numbers of innocent people Hitler massacred.
Until liberation millions of Jews were sent to death and concentration camps, such as
Auschwitz. With tons of severe and cruel ways of extermination they were stuck in
this horrible place. Because of the horrific living conditions, forced labor, mass
murdering, and other inhumane activities, Auschwitz was the most feared, and the
largest Nazi Death Camp of World War 2. Auschwitz is located in Oswiecim, Poland.
The concentration camp was opened in May, 1940, under Commander Rudolf Hoss.

Prisoners were given thin, loose, rags to wear. They were stripped white and blue.
The barracks or housing they lived in was modeled after horse stables. Usually,
there were 800 1,000 prisoners in each row of barracks. The prisoners slept ten to a

in Beyers, Ann 288). This then led to every member of camp being forced to have
their heads shaved completely off, most of the time using dull, broken scissors

and drink from the puddles of water and mud for a drink. Dying of dehydration was
not uncommon. Only about 1% of areas had running water. When the Nazis would
feed the prisoners, they would make sure that each only got or consumed around 200
calories a day. That was hardly enough to keep them alive. Countless people died by

Prejudice Essay
For this oral history paper I was very excited to find someone with a quite
interesting and culturally diverse family background that I think would contribute a
lot to the topic of prejudice and stereotype. This paper will discuss the views of
stereotype and prejudice of my interviewee and also how the two factors have
affected her life. Brown (1995) defines prejudiceas a negative attitude, emotion, or
behavior towards members of a group as a result of their membership of that group.
This negative attitude, emotion, or behavior that we project toward members of a
particular group is influenced by the attitudes of others around us and the norms of

Questions On Online Learning Styles
When it comes to learning styles, what exactly comes to mind? Would it be hands
on, auditory, or tactile learning? Those are all similar styles that can be park of
online learning or most of all the traditional style of learning. So what would you
choose? There are many similarities when it comes to traditional and online learning
but it s important to know there are just as many differences between the two. When
it comes to the two learning stylesthere are always the different distractions, learning
methods, and always the occasional getting in the way of work.
Let s start with talking about online learning. There are about 6.1 Million people
enrolled in online courses according to an article written by Steven Kolowich. (I
was one of them my first semester.) Why take an online course you ask? Well
sometimes you don t have enough time out of the day to be able to drive up to the
college and sit in a classroom for hours at a time. With taking online courses it
gives you more time but it does cause a lot of distractions. You re going to be doing
a lot of your work at home. This means whatever you have going on around your
house is a given distraction. Whether it s a TV playing in the background, a dog
that won t sit still, or of course the route y toddler you have playing with blocks as
you type this essay! There s also different learning methods you will experience
while taking online courses. Almost all of the work will be in front of your computer

Film Analysis Of Blade Runner
EDITED VERSION
Blade Runner
Ridley Scott directed Blade Runner (1982) after his latest hit Alien (1979) This is
the start of major fame and recognition in his career and he is still cementing his
unique vision onto the industry. The Film is located in a dark futuristic city yet
vibrant with neon lights and crowds of people but this world has lots of backstory
with off world colonies and advanced technology. The film is loosely based on a
novel called Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (1968) By Philip K. Dick both
having the same plot and sharing the same world. Blade Runner has a dark futuristic
city vibe yet vibrant with neon lights and crowds of people. The way Scott makes
us move through the city in a bird s eye view at odd angles when moving to a new
location draws a sense of awe seeing these massive structures and this endless
sprawling city in its midst. Camera work is used to make you feel claustrophobic in
this packed tight city. The set was almost entirely filmed indoors making this movie
very dark, with an ambient controlled environment.
The creative process that went into this movie is astounding! Huge model pieces
were put to together to show off the megastructures in 2019 Los Angeles. Almost
every set piece serves a purpose in convincing this forced reality upon you. It s one
thing to see the world of Blade Runner and another to hear the great work of music
the film has. An exquisite masterpiece, composer Vangelis has crafted. Blending very

Various individuals in America contemplated whether the nation would survive.
Regardless of the way that the United States had little history of gigantic social
change or topple tries against the organization, hunger has a negative strategy for
blending those interests among any people. As bread turmoil ridden situations and
shantytowns created in number, many began to search for different choices to
nothing new. Showings in the nation s capital extended, as Americans turned out to
be logically drained with President Hoover s evident inaction. The demonstrating that
drew the most national thought was the Bonus Armystroll of 1932. In 1924, Congress

interesting fact is that the proportion of the investment going back to US is
gradually decreasing every year. Till the last few years, almost 60% funds were

The Bluest Eye, And Marilynne Robinson s Housekeeping
Family, community, and society have a consistent, unavoidable impact on the
individual and our own sense of identity. Whether it is the home we grow up in, the
societal standards we face, or the relationships we lose and make, self identification is
significantly influenced by our surroundings. This journey to find oneself is a central
theme within both Toni Morrison s novel, The Bluest Eye, and Marilynne Robinson s,
Housekeeping. The Bluest Eye tells the story of Pecola Breedlove, a young African
American girl who yearns for the acceptance and love from society. The idea that she
must have blue eyes if she wants to look beautiful has been imprinted on her and has
affected the way she identifies herself. Then Housekeeping follows two sisters,
Lucille and Ruth, who after a series of abandonments, search for their own identities
through the mother daughter relationships they form and the homes that they connect
with. While the characters within the two novels both undergo a search for self
identification, the formal structures of the two narratives are different. The Bluest
Eye uses differing narrativeperspectives, with the character, Claudia serving as the
primary narrator. In contrast, Ruth narrates Housekeeping herself, offering an internal
understanding and perspective. Overall, the different narration styles within The
Bluest Eye and Housekeeping play a significant role in the way the audience follows

Introduction The purpose of this paper is to analyze the Walt Disney Company and
their expansion into Hong Kong with the theme park Hong Kong Disneyland
(HKD). The Walt Disney Company was founded in 1923 by Walt Disney. It was a
company founded upon as an entertainment experience for people of all ages
starting out with short films and then moving into full length motion pictures. Since
its inception the Disney Company has grown into a worldwide organization and is
made up of four major areas. Those areas are studio entertainment, consumer
products, media networks, and parks and resorts. As of 2005 only two of these four
areas were profitable, those being media networks and parks and resorts. Up until the

This idea was no different with the establishment of HKD. Aside from this
worldwide perception that Disney has HKD sought to bring visitors for other
reasons as well. One of the main strategies was to offer this experience at a very
affordable rate. The price for a one day was $295 in Hong Kong which is
equivalent to $38 in the United States. Along with these low rates there were also
many special offers that were constantly available to visitors. These offers included
special rates for certain occasions, discounted rates for children and senior citizens
and the ability to purchase packages through travel agencies. In fact HKD
encouraged the purchase of tickets through travel agents and on their website. They
limited the number tickets that were able to be bought by walk up visitors to keep
the wait to enter the park at a minimum. Another corporate strategy was the emphasis
that Disney put on their employees or cast member as they refer to them as. Every
employee that was hired was sent to the Walt Disney Park in Orlando for training to
get accustomed to the expectations of a Walt Disney employee. Along with this
extensive training each employee was required to speak multiple languages in order
to cater to all guests that may be visiting the park. With that being said the corporate

Ashley Simons Secrecy and a free, democratic government don t mix, President Harry

government s hold on information and limit public scrutiny of its activities.
Expansive assertions of executive privilege, restrictive views of the Freedom of

Knights In The Canterbury Tales Essay
During the medieval time period, knights were very important heroic figures.
Knights were men who served their sovereign or lord as a mounted soldier in
armor. The Knights follow the code of chivalry, which was a religious code to
behave in an honorable or polite way. Geoffrey Chaucer shows how the knightuses
chivalry in The Canterbury Tales through respect for women, religious act, and honor
for their kingdom and their society. Knights exhibit chivalry through the protection
and honor of women. In the Wife of Bath s Tale, the knight talks to the old women
and says, Please choose which may be the greatest pleasure and greatest honor to
you and me also (Chaucer 11). The knight is giving his honor and assurance to the
old lady showing that he loves her no matter what she chooses. Knights also showed
courtesy to women by defending them when... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

They sometimes show honor through love and sacrifice. In Sir Gawain and The
Green Knight, Gawain says, No men under Heaven, I am sure, are more hardy in
will or better in body on the fields where battles are fought; I myself am the
weakest, of course, and in wit the most feeble; my life would be at least missed, if
we let out the truth (Chaucer 134 137). Gawain is showing honor by sacrificing
himself for his king. He would rather die an honorable man than letting his king
die. Knights also show honor by keeping their word. As the Green Knight talks to
Gawain, he says, See, Gawain, that you carry out your promise exactly, and search
for me truly, sir, until I am found, as you have sworn in the hall in the hearing of
these knights (Chaucer 448 450). Gawain kept his word to meet the Green Knight
even though he knows the consequences ahead of him. He wants to be courageous
knight than rather to lie on his name. Showing honor is a very important duty to a
knight. Having honor means to have respect for yourself and your
Hepzibah Pyncheon In The House Of The Seven Gable
At first glance, Hepzibah Pyncheon looks like a cruel old lady due to her
nearsightedness and heavy eyebrows. Even when she was young her features were
frightening, but now with age and grief, her appearance is even more ghastly (
Three Women in The House of the Seven Gables: Hepzibah ). She actually has a
heart of gold and is one of the nicest ladies one might ever meet. For the last thirty
years, Hepzibah has been living in the house of seven gables by herself, which
caused her brain to impregnated with the dry rot of its timbers (Hawthorne ). This
has resulted in her being withdrawn from society and developing a few strange
qualities as well as sadness due to lack of human contact. Her body now reflects the
environment she is living in, the decaying house. Even when she leaves the house
with her brother, while on the train, she begins to have flashes of the house and it
seemed to be at every spot she... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She begins to help with the shop, cleaning the house and regrowing the lifeless
garden outside right away ( Three Women in The House of the Seven Gables:
Hepzibah ). Within days of her arrival, it is said that the house with seven gables
began to transform and a new life was brought out in it. The growing dust seemed to
stop accumulating, the rotting timbers seemed to cease, and the pungent smell
seemed to fly away. Hawthorne states that Phoebe presents was an uplifting spirit
for Clifford and Hepzibah and allowed them to break free from the depression that
had captured them (Hawthorne). Her kind heart reflected in her hours at the shop, as
she was polite to each customer and maintained the store with ease. When Clifford
refused to allow Hepzibah to care for him due to her unsightly nature, Phoebe became
his nurse. Her presence in the home altered Hepzibah and Clifford s internal and

The Importance Of Extracurricular Activities For All...
Summary
This article begins by discussing the importance of extracurricular activities for all
students. Only a small margin of student with disabilities has a goal or even mentions
extracurricular activities in their IEP s. With the passing of IDEA in 2006, this
allowed students to be more involved with their nondisabled peers within the
academic settings but does not cover the after school activities. These activities can
be crucial to a student s developmental skills in the long run. In a study done by the
National Center for Educational Statistics (1995), they found out that students who
participate in nonacademic activities are linked to better outcomes across a number
of domains. These domains include but not limited to; shaping recreational pursuits
while currently in school and even post graduation, choosing career paths or even
giving the students the motivation to complete school, and becoming socially
connected to the same extend as their peers without disabilities and providing that
psychological adjustment. For those students who may be more severe in their needs,
they can benefit from these activities by helping them plan for their future, help them
develop essential leadership skills and self determination, allow them to engage with
their school communities and sometimes beyond, and develop meaningful, lasting
friendships. One self determination skill that is learned by students with and without
a disability is self advocacy and leadership. In a study done by

INTRODUCTION The traditional function of commercial banks has been to act as
financial intermediaries between deficit and surplus sectors. This assumes that banks

developments in corporate and wholesale financing have significantly undermined

Securitisation will be discussed later on. New Technology New technology has
reduced barriers to entry. Originally the banking sector was based on branch
networks; in order to operate overseas, a bank required a branch in that country. Now,
thanks to new technology, in particular the internet, the physical presence of a bank
is not as important and branches are no longer a requirement to operating overseas
as physical proximity does not determine where money can be raised. For example
electronic trading technology has allowed the creation of companies such as E*Trade
and is providing new distribution channels and shifting the balance of power to the
consumer. Thus technology has changed the way in which money is lent and banks
have had to become more innovative both in the way in which their financial services
are delivered and the services they offer. Direct banking (telephone and internet
banking) is becoming comparatively more important and the branch network, which
used to be a major competitive advantage because it created a barrier to entry is now
becoming one of banks most expensive problems (Llewellyn 2

1994). In the UK, the Prudential has launched its new banking service Egg and is
rapidly moving to expand its services using the internet. New technology is also
largely responsible for moving the markets towards a more perfect situation in that it
has reduced information asymmetry. Banks used to possess

However, delving into the intricacies reveals a nuanced challenge that demands a delicate balance of creativity, precision, and strategic thinking. The difficulty lies in the art of capturing the reader's attention from the very beginning. Crafting an engaging introduction involves more than just presenting facts or stating the thesis; it requires a thoughtful blend of hooking the audience, providing context, and subtly hinting at the essay's purpose. The challenge intensifies when considering the diverse preferences of readers and the necessity to cater to a broad audience. Essay about The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath The Bell Jar by Sylvia PlathOne is often enticed to read a novel because of the way in which the characters are viewed and the way in which characters view their surroundings. In the novel The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, Esther Greenwood is a character whose heightened and highly emotional response to events, actions and sentiments (Assignment sheet) intrigue the reader. One of her character traits is extreme paranoia that is shown in different situations throughout the novel. As a result of this, she allows herself to be easily let down, as she believes that all events that are unsatisfactory are directed towards her. Finally, it is clear that she attempts to escape this notion by imagining an idyllic yet impossible life that she... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another common attribute of paranoia is the belief that others are plotting something potentially hurtful. This can be seen in the way that she feels as if she is being tested by others. She is admitted to a mental institution, and it is apparent that she is untrustworthy of the motives of others when the doctors visit her: I lay on my bed under the thick white blanket, and they entered my room, one by one, and introduced themselves. I couldn t understand why there should be so many of them, or why they would want to introduce themselves, and I began to think that they were testing me, to see if I noticed that there were too many of them. (Plath 198) Esther evidently feels as if she is constantly being judged and tested, although in fact she is not. Her magnified sense of distrust is illustrated repeatedly throughout the course of the book, at once involving the reader and developing her own characteristic response to unique situations. Finally, one who views occurrences which can only be categorized as coincidental as being planned often experiences a suspicious response. When she finds out that an acquaintance from high school is at the same hospital, her first reaction is wariness: It occurred to me that Joan, hearing where I was, had engaged the room at the asylum on pretence, simply as a joke. (Plath 207). Although the reader is incredulous of the protagonist s manner of thought, it is also possible to feel a connection to the situation. Such a

Body Wall Tendons Research Mark Jones Writing Assignment 2 BIOL 510 4/11/2017 Tendons are one of the most important tissues in the body of any organism, transferring the power created by the muscles to the bones and allowing coordinated body movements to occur. However, until recently there was very little known about the origin of this tissue and most of the research performed focused on the limbs and the tendons associated with them. Along with the limited amount of research it seemed that not of them were focused on the axial and ventrolateral body wall tendons. The two layers of sclerotome transplanted from quail to chick indicated that quail cells produced Scx tendon progenitors and sclerotome. It also produced a complete set of tendon progenitors between the myotome layers, indicating they arose from both chick and quail cells. While transplanted quail and host chick sclerotome indicated that the Scx expressing cells were entirely produced by quail cells. This observation suggested that Scx expressing cells between two layers of myotome form from the anterior and posterior edges to two adjacent somites. On the other hand, two adjacent dermomyotome layers did not produce any Scx expressing tendon progenitors but, it did produce myotome and dermotome. This observation lead to the conclusion that the dermomyotome produces myotome and the sclerotome produces the syndetome. These results raised the question: why is Scx expression only being observed on the anterior and posterior boundaries of the somite closest to the myotome and if a signal from the myotome was responsible for the observed
  • 4. The Beginning Of World War I And Commencement Of A... The year of 1914 marked the beginning of World War I and the commencement of a tumultuous era for politics, society and art. Amongst the considerable number of people negatively affected by the dreadfulness of the war, many of them found different ways of expressing their repugnance towards the horrific routes that humanity had taken. The Dadamovement in particular began not only as a reaction against the war but also as a commentary on the social circumstances that lead to it. This essay reflects on the context that allowed the art movement to flourish and the circumstances that lead to its decline. The rise of machinery, mass production, fascism and overall disillusionment with society provided an ideal environment for radical movements to emerge. The First World War was one of the greatest military conflicts to be observed in recent history, happening during a time when humanity was rapidly advancing, to the point that it seemed unlikely for society to fall in such disarray s quickly. Most people were astonished by this decline and it stirred a certain sense of antipathy in the general public, antipathy towards politics, towards the bourgeois who had control over everything at the time and, most of all, antipathy towards the weaknesses and errors of the people who were so eager to praise their nations yet allowed their countries to join in the chaotic massacre of the war. Art has always had an important relation to its historical context and, naturally, this profound

  • 6. The Movie Pulp Fiction By Quentin Tarantino The movie Pulp Fiction(1994) was directed by Quentin Tarantino is regarded as one of the best movies ever made and especially for the gangster film genre it is quite unique. It can be argued that Pulp fiction is or isn t a gangster movie but there are enough signs to prove that it s definitely is a gangster film. This movie focuses rather on the morality of decisions and about the character s internal conflict and the karma that the character s receive. Not only is there karam associated with their actions but a chance for redemption . All of these things add for a wonderful gangster movie but it is missing some very conventional aspects of the genre that definitely set it apart from the rest. The first time that the characters are seen with the questioning of morality is in the very beginning of the film with Vincent Vega(John Travolta) and Jules(Samuel L. Jackson). The conversation starts out about their bosses new wife Mia Wallace(Uma Thurman) and how was laying her hands on her in familial way and gave her a foot massage. This caused Marcellus Wallace(Ving Rhames) to throw Antwone out the window four stories and give him permanent nerve damage. Jules thinks that reaction that Marcellus has was too far and that it was just foot massage, while Vincent says I ve given a million ladies a million foot massages and they all meant something and we act like they don t but they do, and that s what so fucking cool about them . When she took the job as Will s caregiver, she never thought his choice to medically kill himself would leave her the way it did. After You goes throught the motions of the people left to mourn Will s death, specifically Louisa. The theme of this book can easily be narrowed down to living, Lou is left to figure out how to put together a life worth living. • 10. The Forces Removal of Children from their Parents in Ayn... There are just over fifty countries in the world that are currently run by dictators and the severity of the dictatorship varies from country to country. Some dictators can be relatively kind in their rule where others can be very harsh. One thing that happens in these harsh dictatorships is that children are removed from their parents at birth. Though the reasons for this differ in many ways, three of the most prominent are that children learn from their parents, it focuses the children on their job or goal assigned to them, and that there will be favoritism between the parents and the children over other people. Passed on knowledge can be a real problem to a fearful dictator. There is a saying, knowledge is power . This statement is very true because knowledge has the ability to open the eyes of people to things unseen. It allows for exploration and sometimes rebellion. The rebellion factor of this is what scares dictators. If children are allowed to live with their parents, the parents have the opportunity to let the children know things about the past and what is wrong with the world. If the children knew of this they might have the ability to stand together and rebel against the government. The only benefit to removing a child from its home with the parents, is that it allows the child to become focused on the duty they are given by the ruler. When the child is taken from the home, they lose the distraction of having a family. They may become a more productive
  • 11. Difference between the US and UK Politial Systems Possibly the most essential difference amid the United States and United Kingdom political systems is the constitution or the absence of one. The United States has a written constitution as does a large majority of nation states. The British do not have a distinct article called the constitution but in its place its constitutional necessities are scattered over numerous Acts of Parliament. The United States Constitutionis difficult to adjust and in present political conditions, maybe impracticable to change in any significant respect. The Equal Rights Amendment which fought to provide equal rights for women failed and there has been no victorious amendment of the US Constitution except for one technical measure since 1971. What for realistic purposes constitutes the British Constitution numerous Acts of Parliament can be altered by a simple majority in the legislature. For example, the current Government presented set terms for the House of Commons by passing the needed legislation. In the United States, political dialogue regularly makes references to the constitution, usually Republicans arguing that Democratic proposals are Unlawful . Above and beyond the fact that the United Kingdomdoes not obtain a constitution as such, it is uncommon for British politicians to dispute that the actions or proposals of their opponents are unlawful. An essential characteristic of the American constitution is the firm separation of the power of the administrative, the legislature

There four types of context to be addressed when evaluating an argument. These contexts are historical, which is all about the time period and setting of the argument, physical, which is where the argument was found and published, political, which is about who the author is, and social, which is about the audience it is directed to. Norman Rockwells painting of Freedom of Want was published on March 6th, 1943 and a perfect example of how the context will shape the argument portrayed. That same table demonstrates that the partial pressures of both oxygen and carbon dioxide in the alveoli decrease as well. However, the alveolar water vapor pressure remains unchanged constant at 47mmHg no matter the altitude (Hall 561). The most deleterious result of these factors is that less oxygenis being delivered to the tissues. Fortunately for me, Guyton and Hall says that altitude has a relatively insignificant effect on arterial oxygen saturation at 9,000ft (Hall Figure 44 1). It is not until 10,000ft that arterial oxygen saturation begins to steeply decline. Technology is changing at such a rapid pace most consumers can barely keep up. Gadget users are just getting used to their shiny new smartphones when another upgrade is rolling off the production lines. Beyond hand held technology, computing devices are light years better than technological tools of the past. One area that technology has heavily impacted is that of education. While technology has changed the landscape of the mainstream classroom, it has completely changed the realm of instruction for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other disabilities. Since 2015, I have served in various roles within the Special Education department of Frederick County Public Schools. Having worked closely with some of the most challenged students, I have personally witnessed the benefits of technology for students diagnosed with Autism. Devices and applications are not only transforming the classroom, but that are giving individuals with ASD more freedom and confidence than ever before. Finally, parents and school staff must be intentional about finding the correct device and apps for the students and integrate them with intentionality. Since the internet

Asiatic cultures vary from Western culture and require sociological and cultural analysis to completely understand. The New World Encyclopedia online resource defines culture in an easy to understand way. According to New World Encyclopedia (2013), Culture is a complex of features held by a social group, which may be as small as a family or a tribe, or as large as a racial or ethnic group, a nation, or in the age or globalization, by people all over the world (Defining culture, para.1). Taiwan is the topic of sociocultural analysis in this essay. Five major characteristics that define a culture are that it is learned, it is social, shared, transmitted and continuous (Farooq 2011). Taiwan is rich in culture, food, art and religion. Geographically, according to McGuigan (n.d.), Taiwan is a relatively small island off the south east coast of mainland China, Taiwan occupies a unique position both politically and culturally (Taiwan Culture Tradition, para. 1). Prejudice Essay For this oral history paper I was very excited to find someone with a quite interesting and culturally diverse family background that I think would contribute a lot to the topic of prejudice and stereotype. This paper will discuss the views of stereotype and prejudice of my interviewee and also how the two factors have affected her life. Brown (1995) defines prejudiceas a negative attitude, emotion, or behavior towards members of a group as a result of their membership of that group. This negative attitude, emotion, or behavior that we project toward members of a particular group is influenced by the attitudes of others around us and the norms of our ingroup. Although she speaks Russian and looks more like a Caucasian rather than an Asian girl, she has never visited the country nor does she know anything about its culture. FDG tells that she made an unconscious decision to separate herself from her mother s heritage due to the mocking she hears from her friends about her mother s culture. It is also due to the lack of knowledge and information that leads her to unwillingly buy into all the negative comments. Moreover, FDG mentions that her mother has never made an effort to introduce or familiarize FDG about her Russian ancestry. FDG was very confused and literally did not know where she belonged. She had lived all of her life in Indonesia and was only taught about the traditional Indonesian values only, not Russian. The only culture (Indonesian) she knew about and considered to be a part of turned out to reject her. And on the other hand people expect her to belong to a foreign culture that she did not know anything about. Thus, FDG at first presumed that she is a part of the ingroup whereas others perceived her as an outgroup member. As a result, growing up FDG rarely had close native Indonesian friends at school and instead she made friends with other mixed race children and children of

Film Analysis Of Blade Runner EDITED VERSION Blade Runner Ridley Scott directed Blade Runner (1982) after his latest hit Alien (1979) This is the start of major fame and recognition in his career and he is still cementing his unique vision onto the industry. The Film is located in a dark futuristic city yet vibrant with neon lights and crowds of people but this world has lots of backstory with off world colonies and advanced technology. The film is loosely based on a novel called Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (1968) By Philip K. Dick both having the same plot and sharing the same world. Blade Runner has a dark futuristic city vibe yet vibrant with neon lights and crowds of people. The way Scott makes us move through the city in a bird s eye view at odd angles when moving to a new location draws a sense of awe seeing these massive structures and this endless sprawling city in its midst. Camera work is used to make you feel claustrophobic in this packed tight city. The set was almost entirely filmed indoors making this movie very dark, with an ambient controlled environment. The creative process that went into this movie is astounding! Huge model pieces were put to together to show off the megastructures in 2019 Los Angeles. Almost every set piece serves a purpose in convincing this forced reality upon you. It s one thing to see the world of Blade Runner and another to hear the great work of music the film has. Only a small margin of student with disabilities has a goal or even mentions extracurricular activities in their IEP s. With the passing of IDEA in 2006, this allowed students to be more involved with their nondisabled peers within the academic settings but does not cover the after school activities. These activities can be crucial to a student s developmental skills in the long run. In a study done by the National Center for Educational Statistics (1995), they found out that students who participate in nonacademic activities are linked to better outcomes across a number of domains. These domains include but not limited to; shaping recreational pursuits while currently in school and even post graduation, choosing career paths or even giving the students the motivation to complete school, and becoming socially connected to the same extend as their peers without disabilities and providing that psychological adjustment. For those students who may be more severe in their needs, they can benefit from these activities by helping them plan for their future, help them develop essential leadership skills and self determination, allow them to engage with their school communities and sometimes beyond, and develop meaningful, lasting friendships. One self determination skill that is learned by students with and without a disability is self advocacy and leadership. In a study done by

Originally the banking sector was based on branch networks; in order to operate overseas, a bank required a branch in that country. Now, thanks to new technology, in particular the internet, the physical presence of a bank is not as important and branches are no longer a requirement to operating overseas as physical proximity does not determine where money can be raised. For example electronic trading technology has allowed the creation of companies such as E*Trade and is providing new distribution channels and shifting the balance of power to the consumer. Thus technology has changed the way in which money is lent and banks have had to become more innovative both in the way in which their financial services are delivered and the services they offer. Direct banking (telephone and internet banking) is becoming comparatively more important and the branch network, which used to be a major competitive advantage because it created a barrier to entry is now becoming one of banks most expensive problems (Llewellyn 2 Clare F Thomas Corporate and Wholesale Banking B 1994).
