 Purpose of human creation

INTRODUCTION
DEFINITION
Worship:
 Literally means submissive, obedient,
loyal, worship and enslave yourself to
something.

 Islamic term means the action, obey,
follow and commit ourselves fully to
everything sanctioned by God and called
upon by His messenger, whether it is an
instruction or prohibition.
PURPOSE OF WORSHIP
 to show gratitude on all the blessings
that have been given
 To seek blessing from Allah
- He does not ask us to do something
but it will bring good things for the
creature itself
whoever is grateful , he is grateful for the
interest actually himself and whoever is
ungrateful, verily Allah Is Absolute, Owner of
Praise
The scope of worship and its relationship
with life
 not only a practicing of particular ritual.
 the way of life
 covers all the business of life
 every practice will be rewarded
Worship As Hablu Support Minallah
and HabLu minannas
2 dimension of worship:
 religious activities intended to fulfill the
obligation

implications
TYPES OF WORSHIP
1. Specific worship
- performing prayer, fasting, give
charity, perform pilgrimage
2. General worship
- all actions and movements that
meets specific condition:

1. Practices in the attribute of justice,
according to Islam.
2. not in conflict with the Islamic laws
3. is done for the sake of Allah
4. Practice shall be done with the best
5. When the work is not ignore specific
religious duties such as prayer etc.
"Men are not neglected them by the business or
the sale and purchase of the remembrance of
Allah , establish regular prayer and give alms they
fear a day ( on the day) of the heart and vision
shake". ( An- Nur : 37 )
Secret in worship
1. Prayer:
- gives peace of mind
- beneficial to health (bow, prostration etc)
2. Fasting:
- strengthen the soul
- educate the will
- healthy body
- appreciate the value of enjoyment
- remembering and feel suffering the others

3. Pay zakat:
- combating diseases envy
- facilitate the development of global economy
- to purify themselves
- creating a balance in the distribution of property
- inculcate love
Jihad as part of worship
Concept Of Jihad:
Jihad in Arabic means 'struggle to strive for
a particular cause'
- Jihad Akbar (greater Jihad)
- Jihad Asghar (lesser Jihad)
Category of Jihad
 Jihad against one's own person to curb
sinful inclinations.
 This is the most difficult Jihad and
hence in terms of rewards and blessings
is the highest category of Jihad.
Jihad Akbar
The Prophet PBUH himself praised non-
violent jihad .He said, “The best struggle
(jihad) is to speak the truth before a
tyrannical ruler,”
and, “The best struggle is to struggle
against your soul and your passions in
the way of God Most High.”
 This is Jihad of the sword.
 The Quran speaks of fighting only
against those who first attack. Those
who killed, considered syahid
Jihad Asghar
 the struggle to strengthen Islam and
Muslim without war such as improving
field of economy, knowledge,
development, social, moral and so on.
Nowaday’s JIHAD
Three Categories of Syahid:
a. Syahid Dunia (Worldly Martyrdom) -
Those who died in a war against the
disbelievers to get the ghanimah (war
booty) and not for the sake of exalting
Allah swt.
SYAHID
b. Syahid Akhirat (Hereafter Martyrdom)
- Such as mothers who died while
delivering her child, drowned, burnt to
death, while in search of knowledge and
murdered while helping someone in
great distress.

c. Syahid Dunia dan Akhirat (Worldly and
Hereafter Martyrdoms)
-Those who died in a war fought against the
disbelievers to defend the highest stature
of Islam. They do not need to be bathed or
prayed to and wrapped in a white winding
sheet with their clothes soaked in blood
and buried.

 Worship not only refer to act of ritual
