Many UX designers have a blind spot when it comes to creating useful, usable content. If our goal is a great experience for users, then UX designers need to go beyond creating page templates and interaction models and focus on content strategy.
This workshop used the familiar UX design process to talk about how content strategy contributes to activities and deliverables.
Single object detection to support requirements modeling using faster R-CNNTELKOMNIKA JOURNAL
Requirements engineering (RE) is one of the most important phases of a software engineering project in which the foundation of a software product is laid, objectives and assumptions, functional and non-functional needs are analyzed and consolidated. Many modeling notations and tools are developed to model the information gathered in the RE process, one popular framework is the iStar 2.0. Despite the frameworks and notations that are introduced, many engineers still find that drawing the diagrams is easier done manually by hand. Problem arises when the corresponding diagram needs to be updated as requirements evolve. This research aims to kickstart the development of a modeling tool using Faster Region-based Convolutional Neural Network for single object detection and recognition of hand-drawn iStar 2.0 objects, Gleam grayscale, and Salt and Pepper noise to digitalize hand-drawn diagrams. The single object detection and recognition tool is evaluated and displays promising results of an overall accuracy and precision of 95%, 100% for recall, and 97.2% for the F-1 score.
Our research aims to propose a global approach for specification, design and verification of context awareness Human Computer Interface (HCI). This is a Model Based Design approach (MBD). This methodology describes the ubiquitous environment by ontologies. OWL is the standard used for this purpose. The specification and modeling of Human-Computer Interaction are based on Petri nets (PN). This raises the question of representation of Petri nets with XML. We use for this purpose, the standard of modeling PNML. In this paper, we propose an extension of this standard for specification, generation and verification of HCI. This extension is a methodological approach for the construction of PNML with Petri nets. The design principle uses the concept of composition of elementary structures of Petri nets as PNML Modular. The objective is to obtain a valid interface through verification of properties of elementary Petri nets represented with PNML.

Software Agents in Support of Human Argument Mapping
Abstract. This paper reports progress in realizing human-agent argumentation, which we argue will be part of future Computer-Supported Collaborative Argumentation (CSCA) tools. With a particular interest in argument mapping, we present two investigations demonstrating how a particular agent-oriented language and architecture can augment CSCA: (i) the use of the IBIS formalism enabling Brahms agents to simulate argumentation, and (ii) the extension of the Compendium tool by integrating it with Brahms agents tasked with detecting related discourse elsewhere.

EARLY STAGE SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT EFFORT ESTIMATIONS – MAMDANI FIS VS NEURAL N...cscpconf
Accurately estimating the software size, cost, effort and schedule is probably the biggest
challenge facing software developers today. It has major implications for the management of
software development because both the overestimates and underestimates have direct impact for
causing damage to software companies. Lot of models have been proposed over the years by
various researchers for carrying out effort estimations. Also some of the studies for early stage
effort estimations suggest the importance of early estimations. New paradigms offer alternatives
to estimate the software development effort, in particular the Computational Intelligence (CI)
that exploits mechanisms of interaction between humans and processes domain
knowledge with the intention of building intelligent systems (IS). Among IS,
Artificial Neural Network and Fuzzy Logic are the two most popular soft computing techniques
for software development effort estimation. In this paper neural network models and Mamdani
FIS model have been used to predict the early stage effort estimations using the student dataset.
It has been found that Mamdani FIS was able to predict the early stage efforts more efficiently in
comparison to the neural network models based models.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

1. User Interface Engineering
Usability Lifecycle by UIE
Rupert Kiefl, Markus Meichau, Tobias Schraut, Denise Unfried
Introduction
The usability lifecycle is applied by UIE as a method to improve user interfaces for software applications. It accompanies a series of productive releases.
Evaluation based on participation of users is the main driving force behind the lifecycle.
No matter how carefully an interface is designed by usability experts, evaluation with real working tasks performed by users are essential to meet
requirements of an interface’s productive use.

User Interface Prototyping
Before implementation starts, an interface is first shaped
by rapid prototyping (Figure 9) with a prototype
application. Prototyping reveals a lot of questions to be
answered either by functional specification
implementation design or interaction. It saves interface
development from tedious and time consuming trial and
error approaches.
Prototypes are very close to the application and can
