Diversity Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of diversity is a task that requires both sensitivity and a nuanced
understanding of the subject matter. The intricacies of diversity encompass a wide range of
dimensions, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, cultural
background, and more. The difficulty in writing such an essay arises from the need to navigate
through these multifaceted aspects, ensuring that the discussion is inclusive, respectful, and
insightful.
One of the challenges lies in striking a balance between acknowledging the importance of
diversity and avoiding stereotypes or oversimplifications. It's essential to delve into the
complexities of various identities, recognizing the unique experiences and perspectives that
contribute to the rich tapestry of human existence. Moreover, conveying a genuine
understanding of the significance of diversity and its impact on individuals and society requires
thoughtful research and reflection.
Addressing the potential pitfalls of the topic, such as unintentional biases or assumptions, adds
another layer of complexity. Writers must be vigilant in avoiding a superficial approach and
instead strive for depth and authenticity. Additionally, the dynamic nature of conversations
around diversity demands a continuous awareness of evolving perspectives and the ability to
adapt one's narrative accordingly.
In conclusion, writing an essay on diversity necessitates navigating a landscape filled with
intricacies, nuances, and potential pitfalls. The challenge lies not only in presenting a
comprehensive understanding of diversity but also in doing so with sensitivity, avoiding
stereotypes, and embracing the evolving nature of the discourse. As writers embark on this
endeavor, they are encouraged to approach the topic with respect, empathy, and a commitment
to fostering meaningful dialogue.

Add Cake, Subtract Self Esteem Analysis
Once upon a time, women were celebrated for their curves. Weight was a symbol of
wealth and fertility in a woman. During this time, women were subjugated to being
a housewife and nothing more. As time and society progressed, a woman s prison
became her body and no longer her home. Women had the freedom to vote, work,
play, but could no longer be fat. This new beauty standard of thinness affects women
in many ways. In Add Cake, Subtract Self Esteem written by Caroline Knapp, she
describes her own personal experience on how this impossible standard affects
women s eating which leads to eating disorders and an unhealthy relationship with
food. In The Beauty Myth written by Naomi Wolf, she describes the mental effects
on women from a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(4) Knapp describes how the average American woman is bombarded with ads on a
daily basis... which shows a controlled appetite, prerequisite for slenderness,
connotes beauty, desirability, and worthiness. (8) The daily reminders from
society resonates in a woman s psyche which leads to anxiety towards hunger. The
anxiety that women feel leads to an insatiable desire to be thin no matter the cost
because of fear of being fat, and the negative connotation associated with being fat.
The Beauty Myth written by Naomi Wolf is an essay written to present how the
advancements of women in social power lead to a societal backlash that lead to a
woman s value being equated to her appearance by both sexes. This devaluation of
women has led to a harmful relationship with food and women subjecting themselves
to mental and physical torture to be thin. Wolf describes in the 1920s was the first
time that women became preoccupied with dieting and thinness after receiving the
right to vote. In the 1950s, women s curves were celebrated again because their
minds were occupied in domestic seclusion. According to Wolf, when women were
in male spheres, that pleasure had to be overridden by an urgent social
American Imperialism Dbq
During the 19th century the United States witnessed major changes. America went
through its own industrial revolution and the technological advancements in
manufacturing created a surplus in manufactured goods. The country was producing
more than it could consume. The Industrial Revolution evolved the country from a
consumer of manufactured goods to a producer, causing a raising need for raw
materials.
During the latter half of the 19th century, the country faced one of the worst
depressions on the history of the US. It began in 1893 and it lasted for more than
four years and has put more than half of the labor force out of work.
This period provided motives for American commercial expansions. The great
American Businessmen began, at this time, to look overseas to expand their
businesses and for profit. New colonies also provided captive markets for
manufactured good. All these reasons pushed for the rise of Imperialism.
At the turn of the 20th century, the United States began to look at two foreign policy
issues, isolationism and expansionism. Once the U.S. had its inland empire secured
after the Indian wars, it began to look outward. Even though they were determined to
remain detached from the Europeans, they believed it was their right to expand.
The rise of the United States as a world power, put the country against other colonial
powers such as Britain and Germany.
The main concepts of the American foreign policy were The Monroe Doctrine and the
Open Door policy. The

Hua Mulan s birthdate and year are unknown, but was said to be born and loved
between the years 386 534 a.d. In Northern China, she became a legendary warrior,
and was talked about and mentioned in many chinese households. Many people
think of Mulan as just the version Disney created. Disney s version and the legend
are very similar, but have their differences. The Ballad of Mulan is a poem that tells
the legendary Hua Mulan s story. Hua Mulan was thought to have lived during the era
of the Northern Wei dynasty. The stories of Mulan begin with Mulan and her father.
There were many invaders in northern China. When the Huns invaded, the emperor
called out to arms for at least one man from every family, to take place in the army.
Mexican Food Research Paper
Food is probably the most important element of the Mexican culture. Much of the
daily routine and tradition in Mexico is preparing and eating food. Mexican food is
rich in color and flavor. The richness of their foods is important to the Hispanic
culture. Traditional food was combined with the Spanish influence such as
ingredients of rice, beans, corn, meat, peppers, and onions. This was the result of the
blending of the two different heritages. Mexicoalso contains desserts such as flan,
tres leches cake, and gazpachos (Fruit cocktail). Mexico s has influenced other
countries in its foodand now are eaten all over the U.S, Central America, and South
America. In this culture you find common ingredients used in there foods. For

The authentic tacos from Mexico are made differently from just a shell taco.
Authentic tacos are a traditional Mexican dish composed of a corn or wheat
tortilla. Its folded or rolled around a filling. This taco can be made with a variety of
fillings, that include meat, beans, or cheese. Tacos are generally eaten without
utensils, garnished with salsa, guacamole, cilantro (coriander), and onions
allowing it to have a great taste. Tamales on the other hand are a traditional
Mesoamerican dish made of masa or dough. It is steamed in a corn husk or banana
leaf. The wrapping is discarded before eating. Tamales can be filled with meats,
cheeses, or any other preparation according to taste. Both the filling and the
cooking liquid may be seasoned. Huaraches and sopes are both made from a
tortilla. Huaraches are oval and Sopes are round. They both can be covered with
beans, lettuce, and cheese depending on the customer s taste. Mexico is full of
richness especially in its foods and
The Effects Of Pesticides On Human Health
Out of cereal? Need a new t shirt? Craving some sugar? Immediately, our minds
think that it s time for a shopping trip. But where do the malls and supermarkets get
their goods from? Wheat, cotton, sugarcane, and rice are a few of the major
exports from India s $39 billion dollar agriculture industry (Flake 2014). However,
this high output of crops does not come without a cost. Pesticides provide
economic benefits by enhancing the yield of food as well as preventing vector
borne diseases, but they do so at a risk to the health of India s farmers.
Unfortunately, the chemical properties of pesticides that make them effective in
their purpose of destroying the insects and pests that feed on crops are the same
chemical properties that have a negative effect on human health. Agriculture
accounts for about 50% of India s workforce, yet many of these laborers are in
contact with potentially toxic chemicals day after day with little effort to minimize
their exposure risks (Flake, 2014). This issue does not only concern India s farmers,
but also has an impact on a global scale. Worldwide consumption of India s crops
that are produced from excessive or harmful pesticideusage and environmental
consequences make this a problem that everyone should be aware of. Global
agricultural productivity has tremendously increased over the past 50 years since the
so called Green revolution, a period of time in which there were technological
advancements in farming practices including a widespread
Impact Of Green Supply Chain Management On Industry,...
This paper investigates the impact of green supply chain management on industry,
consumer perception and environment. Through research into multiple companies
and case studies, a distorted perception among large corporations shows a historic
struggle to find a balance between profit and sustainability. However, the potential
long term effects of the lack of environmental courtesy cannot be undone and
therefore must be carefully engineered. Multi billion dollar automotive corporations
such as Hyundai and Toyota will be discussed and studied in depth to conclude the
innovative changes contributed in the automotive industryresulting in maximum
efficiency in lean and green production. Additionally, while studying these companies,
the overall question of whether intentional sustainable practices provide increased
customer satisfaction and comfort is answered through a survey given to 100 random
people. In this small sample, it was found that 33% of consumers care about green
business practices in automotive production but only 8% saw an increase in value
because of it. Keywords: green supply chain, automotive sustainability, global impact

The film is based on the lives and experiences of three women who work at a large
corporate office known as Consolidated Industries. The three women are Judy
Bernly (Jane Fonda), Violet Newstead (Lily Tomlin), and Doralee Rhodes (Dolly
Parton). The head of the corporate offices is Franklin Hart Jr. (Dabney Coleman), and
he is a chauvinistic tyrant who works everybody hard especially the women. He
believes that women are inferior to men and says so to Violet when she gets passed
over again for a promotion that she deserved. In the movie Violet is very gifted at her
job and has had a number of brilliant ideas, which Frank simply passed off as his

Frank tries to use this information to force Doralee to finally sleep with him she

in serious trouble now they decide to hold Frank captive in his own home until
they can find enough blackmail on him to keep him quiet. While waiting for an
inventory list to prove that Frank has been stealing inventory, the three women
come up with many ideas about how to change the company for the better. So they
draft changes for the office and forge Frank s signature on the paper to make it
legitimate. After the many changes that the girls make the office is more
productive and efficient than ever before, and the employees are much happier.
The changes they make include part time work, a daycare, and allows for people to
have personal items at their desks. Three days before the invoice comes from the
corporate offices Frank escapes and is able to rectify all of the theft which he has
done without the girls knowing he was free. Frank,

Robert F. Kennedy and John F. Kennedy: compared lives and deaths
November 22, 1963, Dallas Texas, President John Fitzgerald Kennedy rode along
the streets of Dallas, Texas in an open top motorcade. The president s vehicle turns
onto ELM ST. passing the Texas School Book Depository. When the limousine
turned onto ELM ST. Nellie Connally turned to look at President Kennedy and said,
You sure cant say that Dallas doesn t love you, Mr. President. Ironically, a few
moments later President Kennedy was shot, and the waving stopped. The cheering
turned into panic. Fear and confusion filled the eyes of everyone. A similar thing
happened to his brother Robert (Bobby) Francis Kennedy. On June 5, 1968, after
RFK won the Democratic primary in California, an assassin or multiple ones shot
RFK as he passed through the pantry of the Ambassador Hotel. The two brothers died
in their strive to change the world through politics. However, their deaths were not
mere coincidences or random acts of violence. The two assassinations contained a
history and events that led up to the deaths. May 29, 1917 John Fitzgerald Kennedy

Massachusetts. John, much like his family, had high intellect in many fields
including politics. He graduated with a high honors degree from Harvard University

of the shots came from in front. Oswald was in the back right of the motorcade.
RFK had a similar case. Robert had a wound that would ve occurred from behind, but
Sirhan was always in front. Both cases seem to support the possibilities that there

When determining whether a country could be a suitable partner to establish business
relations with, many factors must be taken into consideration before making a
decision. Some of these factors include the characteristics of the country, the
demographics of the market place and supply base, and the country s infrastructure.
These traits directly affect how a company will adapt to a local environment and how
a supply chain manager will make their decision on whether to establish relations with
the country. The country that will be analyzed in this paper with all these
characteristics taken into consideration will be Saudi Arabia. Through the information

Saudi Arabia is very well known for its reserves of oil and gas, holding the second
largest oil reserves and the sixth largest natural gas reserves in the world.
The political situation of Saudi Arabia resembles that of an absolute monarchy, in
which the King of Saudi Arabia is both the head of state and government, as well
as commander in chief of the Saudi military. The country has been under the
leadership of the Al Saud dynasty since its foundation in 1932. The current leader
of Saudi Arabia is King Abdullah, whom ascended into leadership in 2005 after the
death of his half brother, King Fahd. Due to the country being an Islamic state, the
country follows the Islamic law (Shari ah) as a basis to govern the people and obey
laws. The Qur an is known as the constitution of the country, as all people within the
country follow its Islamic practices. However, in 1992, King Fahd adopted the Basic
Law of Governance as the Royal Decree, containing 83 articles emphasizing the
responsibilities and duties of the ruling body.
When in power, the King must appoint a Crown Prince to assist him with his
responsibilities and is second in line to the throne if the King can no longer lead the
nation or becomes deceased. According to CountryWatch, Saudi Arabia s Political

The Problem Of Invading Privacy
On a small scale, the concept can be referred to as a focus group. The agency
executives taking their seats behind the one way blackboard, prepared to gain
information as their puppets reward the participants with a few dollars or an
appreciative sentiment. This situation is echoed within the makeup of our online
society, as we are given small benefits and social reasons to allow access to our
information, while the governmenttakes in as much data as they can to monitor
people and hold them down by their own vices. Through this, the government,
commonly referred to as Big Brother , controls citizens and while many express that
the Internet is a battleground for privacy, the war zone is actually a fabricated idea
that the government makes people believe through the allocation of these societal
prizes and the bailout excuse of defending them against terrorism.
Big Brother claims to be helping people by protecting them, but that is only used as
an excuse to keep an eye on everyone. It is clearly a problem of invading privacy,
because as Neil M. Richards states, Although we have laws that protect us against
government surveillance, secret government programs cannot be challenged until
they are discovered. And even when they are, our law of surveillance provides only
minimal protections (
934). The FBI and the government continue to defend the watch of their people by
claiming it is a defense against outside threats. At first glance this is a commendable
objective, but it is

Product vs Process Layout
II.Introduction
Product Layout is not always better than process layout. I disagree with the statement.
To understand the reasons behind why this is not true, this paper details the concept
of layout, differences between the layouts and applicability of product and process
layout.
Facility layout is the physical arrangement of equipment, offices, rooms and other
resources within an organization. It describes the location of resources and their
relationship to each other. Layout planning aims to organize the physical arrangement
of facilities so that operations run as efficiently as possible. The content section
describes the reasons behind why the statement is not true.
III.Content
Every organization has to consider the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each product uses the facilities in a different sequence. Departments are arranged in
such a way that each department performs the same activities or processes. A
common objective in designing such a layout is to arrange workcenters that have
high interaction closer to each other so as to minimize the flow of material.
Materials move between different departments depending on the process stages. For
e.g they may go from Dept 3 to Dept 6 to Dept 4 and then again to Dept 3 for some
other process.
4.ADVANTAGES DISADVANTAGES OF PROCESS LAYOUT
Advantages of process layouts include:
A variety of products can be made on the same facilities.
Operations continue if some equipment cannot be used because of breakdown or
planned maintenance.
It is suitable for low volumes and variable demand.
People work in cohesive groups and generally enjoy the environment.
General purpose flexible resources
Lower capital intensity automation
Higher labor intensity
Resources have greater flexibility
Disadvantages of process layouts include:
Small batches give lower utilization of equipment and unit costs can be high.
Movement of jobs between operations is complicated, with larger stocks of work in
progress.
Scheduling work on equipment is complicated and must be done continuously.
Controlling the work is difficult.
There is a lot of handling of products and materials.
Processing rates are slower
Material handling costs are higher
The Radio Frequency Identification Device ( Rfid ) Essay
The Radio Frequency Identification Device (RFID) is a powerful technology for
companies in the logistics and supply chain management industry. According to
Jakobs (2000), he states that the RFID system use tiny tags with embedded
microchips that contains data. This data contains the location and information about
the product/item and transfers the data to RFIDreaders through radio signals.
The RFID system is my innovation solution to improving the technologies Hunzal
currently use in managing their logistics and supply chain. RFID was introduced as a
radical innovation, with a significant impact in the logistics and supply chain
industry. Now RFID is seen as an incremental innovation as large firms in the logistics
and supply chain industry are constantly making minor improvements on the RFID.
(Wamba, 2013).
2.5 The process of RFID
The process of RFID is relatively simple and does not take a long period of time to
become an expert with this system. Basically the Radio Frequency Identification
system has three parts (see appendix 2):
1.Firstly, a RFID tag this piece holds data including an identification number. This
data is manually entered from the reader to help identify an item. The rest of the tag
consists of an antenna that transmits radio waves between the RFID readers.
2.Secoundly, a RFID reader, which is a transceiver with a decoder to interpret the
data. Whenever the sensor tag is activated on the reader, it will interrogate and
decode the data on the
Saddam Hussein s Invasion Of Iraq In 2003
The invasion of Iraq in 2003 was justified. Saddam Hussein, leader of Iraq at the
time was the central threat to peace in the Middle East. The United States under the
Bush presidency aimed to remove this threat and bring an infectious democracy to
the region that would cause a retreat in terrorism. The Iran Iraq warclaimed the lives
of about one million people. Both sides of the war used weapons of mass
destruction, primarily poisonous gases. Instead of rebuilding the country after war,
Saddam tried in 1990 to acquire 19% of the world s oil supply by invading Kuwait.
This was stopped by coalition forces of nations including the US and Britain among
others in operation desert storm perpetuating anti American sentiment. During the
Gulf WarSaddam commissioned several failed terrorist attacks against the US and
other nations. For example in 1993 the Iraqi Intelligence Service directed and
pursued an attempt to assassinate, through the use of a powerful car bomb, former
president George Bush and the Emir or Kuwait. There was NO reason to doubt that
Saddam had weapons of mass destruction in 2003, he had used them in the Iran Iraq

Contrary to popular belief there was evidence of WMD found during the invasion of
Iraq and the intelligence was not garbage. Two trailers serving as mobile lab units

Essay on Counterfeit Items Cause Economic Damage
Everyone has seen the sidewalk vendor hawking a too good to be true designer
handbag. The clues to counterfeit luxury items used to be so obvious that most
people knew exactly what they were buying. This sadly is no longer the case. The
production of counterfeit items causes American manufactures to suffer about $200
billion in losses each year according to the International AntiCounterfeiting
Coalition (Freedman, 1999). A large part of counterfeited items are fashion goods.
They are usually easily recognizable, especially at the designer or luxury end of the
market. The more exclusive a brand is, the more likely it is to be counterfeited (Lai
Zaichkowsky, 1999). As these goods are also high value, there is considerable profit
to be made... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now that almost anything can be faked, counterfeiting is becoming a huge economic
issue. Many businesses are losing customers because they are not able to spot
counterfeit items. Customers are doing more and more shopping on the Internet for
convenience and lower prices rather than shopping at their local trusted retailer.
Customers are buying merchandise without knowing the seller or their reputation
(McCausland, 2010). The shopper who would never have considered buying from
the guy on the corner whispering, Pssst! Want to buy a watch? can easily be fooled
by a website that looks genuine but isn t, says Susan Scafidi, a law professor at
Fordham Univeristy (McCausland, 2010). Some websites are even very open about
the fact that they sell counterfeit merchandise. They label their designer knockoffs as
replicas or inspired by the original designer (Freedman, 1999). The shoppers who do
not realize that they are buying counterfeit goods or who are knowingly buying
counterfeit goods will continue to purchase these items from counterfeiters because
they are cheaper than buying the real thing.
The customers who are knowingly purchasing fakes are contributing to the reduced
profitability of legitimate businesses. These sales have driven companies out of
business completely or they have been forced to significantly scale back their
operations.
Globalized production is another factor that

Marketing Strategy- Entering a Country Essay
Individual Assignment (Entering a Country) Mary Madison, Director of Market
Research at U.S. Agricultural Tractor (USAT), has just come from an important
meeting at which it had been decided to initiate a study a study of export
opportunities for the firm s tractors. Since she had no experience in global
marketing, she was rather concerned about how best to approach this task. U.S
demand for tractors had stagnated due to a recession in the farming industry.
Because of lower demand for its big, high performance machines, USAT has
weathered the recession better than had some of its larger competitors. However,
during the past year, the order backlog had been completed considering export
opportunities, and Mary had been asked to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The market opportunities have the direct relation to the real needs and the demand
of customers. Since tractors are used to produce food, people will try to relate the
demand of tractors to the population size. It is because the high the population will
imply the high consumption of food, the more the country consumes, the more food
the country has to produce. But it may not be the whole story. Just think about if a
country does not produce food, instead it relies heavily on the imported food. The
high number of population means they have to import more. And it does nothing to
food production. According to table 3 tractors used in countries from answer to
question 2, Australia and New Zealand have an exceptional high utilization of tractors
when comparing to their relatively small number of population (by referring to the
table 4 population by country from answer to question 2). This is a strong evidence
that population is not that much relating to tractors needed in some countries. Hence,
population should only be significant to countries to produce food. TYPES OF

How Quebec Affected Canada
Quebec has made mistakes like building the Hydro Quebec without the permission of
natives on traditional land and by doing so, Quebec started to believe that if they left
Canada in the first place, they could make their own laws without having to forcefully
agree to the Constitutional Act. Even though Quebecis in Canada, they are not
recognized as well as the English Canadians because they are the ones who lead
/control everything going on in the country no matter how many prominent people
come from Quebec or how many Quebecois soldiers risk their lives at war for
Canada. Canada has brought more harm to Aboriginals because they have purposely

Another benefit of JIT production is the amount of inventory tied up in the business.
That inventory that is sitting idle on warehouse shelves, or seeking potential

amount of space needed for its warehouse(s), would not be as much because it
would not be used as a storage facility. Therefore, for these said reasons, it is
recommended that Riordan using Just in Time production to maximize efficiency and
effectiveness of it electric fan production process.
Forecasting Techniques
The two main forecasting techniques that can be used to project a sales forecast are
quantitative and qualitative. The type of forecast model to be used depends on
forecast horizon, available data, accuracy required, forecasting budget, and the
individuals forecasting (Jacobs Chase, 2011). Qualitative methods are more
subjective and rely on leadership for the projection so a certain level of experience
and knowledge is needed for an accurate forecast. Quantitative methods rely on
mathematical calculations using historical data or external data factors that affect the
sale of the product.
Riordan is trying to determine a production plan, so a short to medium forecast is
needed. Prior year s data ( Riordan Manufacturing , 2013) is also available so these
two factors lead to the forecast selection of simple moving average, which is a
Jacobean Era Research Paper
How did visual art change the culture and the influence of modern art today, from
the Jacobean and Elizabethan eras? Well, to put into perspective, the Jacobean era
was best known for the literary and visual arts, which was ruled by James I of
England. Comparing it to Elizabethan art, it was heavily influenced by the European
Renaissanceideals. But most importantly, the art that was composed around this time,
was immensely based around Queen Elizabeth s liking. The distinctions between the
early jacobean and the preceding Elizabethan styles are subtle ones, often merely a
question of degree, for although the dynasty changed, there was no distinct stylistic
transition (Jacobean Age 1). To have an outlook on the rest of this paper, the artists...

The arts in Europe blossomed into bold new forms, blending the philosophy, and
creative forms of the ancient civilizations of Rome and Greece with contemporary
European style (Elizabethan World 1). England was held up in a religious dispute
during the fifteenth century, slowing them down on the new influences of the
Renaissance. Queen Elizabeth I reign was known as the Elizabethan era, often
referred to as the golden age, is when the first steps to the English Renaissance had
begun. Elizabethan artists were heavily influenced by the English Renaissance, as
well as Queen Elizabeth I. Her picture was usually incorporated in literature, as well
as paintings. Her love for pageantry, music, and dancing helped the artists get a better
point of view of her in their paintings, and sculptures. She did not care much between
popular entertainment, and higher arts. She was easily entertained watching bear
baiting, or watching fireworks, as to listen to her personal entertainers. Iconoclasm
began under the rule of Elizabeth s younger Protestant brother, Edward VI.
Iconoclasm was the planned destruction of monuments, statues, images, pertaining to
religious icons. Elizabeth admired the art of the Catholic religion so much that she
played primary role in preserving some of the art that was trying to be destroyed. The
wealthy upper class Elizabethans loved portrait
The Effects Of Benzodiazepines And Its Effects On The
Cell...
Xanax is a benzodiazepine that is most often used to treat anxiety. The effects of
benzodiazepines mainly come from their ability to alter the movement of the
inhibitory transmitter known as GABAa. GABA is triggered to release when it
then can bind to the GABAa receptor. The binding of the two causes the ion
channel to open and chloride ions are sent across the cell membrane. This causes
the inhibitory factor by depolarizing the membrane (Griffin et al., 2013).
Benzodiazepines are absorbed well through both per oral and parenteral
administrations. However, absorption per orally is more rapid than any other
route. Xanax in particular, is highly lipid soluble. Because it is highly lipid
soluble, it means that it passes through the blood brain barrier more quickly.
Xanax, otherwise known as alprazolam, reaches its peak in concentration in about
one to two hours after administration (Griffin et al., 2013). The half life, or the time
it takes the drug to decrease by half, is about six to twenty seven hours for adults
(Griffin et al., 2013). There is a redistribution of benzodiazepines in body fat. This
is a two phase process. During the first phase, there is a fast drop in the blood level
as the drug is being redistributed throughout the body. During the second phase the
blood level is more slow to drop than the first phase because the drug that is left in
the blood is being metabolized and as that is happening it is being replaced by the
drug that is being released from the body

Zombie Apocalypse Alternate Ending
Brian s bright green eyes looked up at the dead ones looking down at him, seeing
the zombie s face coated in pleasure as she slid up and down along his length. He
had already managed to make one of them cum, but she was now lying along his
legs, not allowing him to get back up, while the other two females, looking down at
him with a mixture of hunger and lust, had his arms pinned to the floor. He watched
the breasts bouncing in front of him as the female zombietried to coax a load from
him, wanting to feed sexually before they all feed on his flesh.
However, he soon saw the female zombie on top of him have a metal blade lodged in
her head. He looked up, seeing a woman, dressed well and well proportioned, taking
out all the zombies that had been hassling him. He felt a warm, sticky liquid lightly
coat his legs and his face but still, he was glad for the help. Brian closed his eyes,
sighing in relief as he did so. He pushed the dead zombie off of him and was about

Denver Department Stores Essay
Denver Department Stores, a Colorado retail store chain, is an entity that was
suffering from the effects of decreased sales volume. Jim Barton, the supervisor of
four departments within the main location in Denver, was struggling with developing
a process to improve the store s sales. Barton identified with the notion that the
decrease in salesvolume was a simple matter of a slowdown in the economic
landscape, and that the downturn would effect all stores in the retail business.
However, Barton s superior, Mr. Cornwall, the general merchandiser of Denver
Department Stores, told Barton that some stores have experienced a 15% gain in
recent sales. Cornwall made it clear that he expected Barton s segments to have sales
equal to the other... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mr. Barton can be defined as a Type B person. As noted previously, he views the
sales decline as a result of just one problem: a bad economy. He is correct that certain
economic factors contribute in consumers choosing certain goods over another, but
he allows this view to block his ability to work through a solution that might increase
sales.
As suggested earlier, Denver Department Stores has been experiencing declining sales
over a period of a few months, though the actual reason why this is happening is
unknown. A general consensus of the employees is that there have been fewer
customers recently, however, managementhas placed the blame on the employees
for not working hard enough to make a sale. Initially, as sales began to decline,
employees were somewhat social, and appear to have spent more time speaking with
customers. To remedy the issue of falling sales revenue, management has
implemented a tally card system to encourage the employees to work harder at
making sales.
With the tally card system, division of labor was lost. Employees of all levels and
all departments were provided the same goal of making sales a priority. This
included not only regular employees, but also department heads. Putting out and
straightening up stock items was pushed aside, leaving the store and backroom
looking cluttered, and provided a more cutthroat work environment for employees. In
addition to the poor division of labor, the tally card system
The Use Of Satire In Jon Stewart s The Daily Show
Satire is the use of humor and or sarcasm to expose bigger issues. Jon Stewart
addresses topics through his talk show on the Daily Show. He brings up important
arguments that are going on in our country and shows how ridiculous they are by
his use of humor. Through his political influence and controversial work, Jon
Stewart renewed the success of The Daily Show with his unusual use of satire that
connected with the younger generation. Before Stewart made his big break on the
Daily Show, he was a stand up comedian doing all shows that he could. This led
him to the network, Comedy Central, with his own show called The Jon Stewart
Show. After it failing, Stewart had the opportunity to replace Craig Kilborn on the
Daily Show, the proposal was outstanding and could not be passed up. Stewart
offered the show a faultless new outlook on comedy that Kilborn could not bring,
politics. The new content led to a spike in views from all ages. Due to his success
on the Daily Show, Marc Peyser and Sarah Childress from Newsweek wrote, The
program... is becoming the coolest pit stop on television. And it does it the hard
way. Unlike late night talk shows that traffic in Hollywood interviews and stupid pet
tricks, the Daily Show is the fearless social satire (D Angelo 534). Stewart s nature
of humor brought a new type of show that Comedy Central had never seen before. He
has the power to influence millions of people through his hour long segments.

Data Analysis And Data Processes
Data Transformation are often very complex and is the most costly section of the
ETL process. Transformations are often achieved outside the database using flat files,
but mostly occurs within an Oracle database. The transform step applies rules or
functions to the extracted data. These rules or functions will decide on the analysis of
data and can involve transformations like the following:
Data Summations
Data Merging
Data Encoding
Data Splitting
Data Calculations
Creating Surrogate Keys
Data Aggregation
When transformed, the data is clean, accurate, consistent and ready for analysis by
the data warehouse users.
Data can be transformed in two ways:

2.2.2 Cleansing Data
Data cleansing is the process of removing incorrect, inappropriate and duplicate
data. It can also be called data cleaning or data scrubbing. Not cleansing the data
will lead to inaccurate and unreliable results. During the process of cleansing data,
if dirty data is detected, it will have to be modified and will therefore cause delays
within the process. Dirty data can be caused by the following:
Members of an organization are poorly trained and will therefore enter data
erroneously.
Inaccurate system configuration rules are applied.
Regular data updates are neglected.
Inconsistent or lack of validation rules.
Duplicates are not removed.
Data cleansing can be performed within single or multiple sets of data. Usually
problems within single data sets are due to misspellings when entering data of that
they have left out missing information when inputting. When problems occur within
multiple data sets e.g. in a data warehouse, the need to cleanse data increases greatly.
This is because the data is more than likely to have redundant data from different
sources, and will therefore have to make sure all
A Geographical Place Through Visual And Narrative...
Food has the ability to transport you to other countries, different times, and
completely new experiences. The effectiveness of film to create a geographical
place through visual and narrative portrayal of food will be explored through the
elaboration on three movies: Haute Cuisine, Ratatouille, and Chocolat. The
movies explored in this essay are all set in France and have various levels of
effectiveness when it comes to creating a sense of geographical place through
visual and narrative portrayal on film. While all these movies are set in France,
some proved to be more superior than others in terms of successfully portraying
French food through film. The purpose of this paper is to highlight the different
levels of accomplishment on successfully portraying location through visual and
narrative portrayal of food. Each film was individually assessed under the same
visual and narrative context and was judged in terms of effectiveness in portrayal and
ability to transport the viewer.
Haute Cuisine is a French film following the journey of the French president s

viewers salivate just from the sight of the haute French cuisine. According to

center of a script, perhaps overlooked is the ability of these images to directly
El Salvador Environmental Issues
El Salvador, the smallest country in Central America has become the first country
in the world to ban metal mining after a series of disputes with a Canadian
Australian company over the environmental aspects of the gold project. The
country also has a partial ban in elements, such as the cyanide. The gold project
was established between the company mentioned earlier and El Salvador. This
project was supposed to bring economic benefits for the country. It is important to
recall that metal mining has been one of the biggest sources of the income of the
country since the 1990s after its civil war. Moreover, El Salvador is facing external
debts and does not have many sources to pay it back. Hence, the gold project was
seen as a crucial source of income. However, El Salvador has terminated this project
because it was going to do a lot of environmental damages. A group composed of
officials, lobbyists, academics and the church were united for the bill passed in the
country against gold mining. The draft law against mining passed with 69 votes in
favor, even though only 43 ballots were required for the bill to be passed. El
Salvador fought a suit against the by Pac Rim Cayman, which was the company in

Qualities Of Niccolo Machiavelli
The Renaissance, which lasted from the 1300s to the 1600s, was a period of many
scientific discoveries, and saw the rebirth of classic Greek and Roman art, as well as
revolutionized politics and economics in Europe. This period in human history also
contributed to the subsequent colonization of numerous lands outside Europe, such
as Africa, Asia, and North America. However, when regarding literature written
during this time period, undoubtedly, Niccolo Machiavelli s magnum opus, The
Prince, is the most important work from this time period. In it, Machiavelli gives
advice on how to best acquire, wield, and maintain power. He also discusses his
political philosophy on the idea that every leader should prioritize state interests
rather than individual or international interests. Meanwhile, on January twelfth, 2016,
former president Barack Obamagave his final State of the Union speech, which
outlined the future after the end of his last term, what policies should be installed
to best benefit the American people, and how to deal with the issue of Islamic
terrorism in the Middle East and the rest of the world. He also addresses fears over
the growing increase in the automation of jobs. Nevertheless, there are certain things
in particular that one should note in Obama s speech, these things being evident of
qualities that Machiavelli would approve of, and consider necessary in order to be an
effective leader, which are cruelty, military preparedness, and deceit. Firstly,

PBIS I feel we are teaching student s the specific skills they need to be successful
and helping teachers reflect on the positives. We have to strive to provide our
students with skills that will not only enable them to obtain a career but also develop
the skillin maintaining their career; we must also instill a sense of human decency,
compassion, acceptance, respect, and global awareness. PBIS will help students
know specific expectations and learn and understand that in life we have specific
guidelines that we need to learn in order to receive the rewards of success.
As a supervisor, it is important to make sure individuals are in an environment that
will help them grow. In order for students to be reached, teachers must be in a
position that they feel understood and supported. Success for any of us is success
for all of us. (Sergiovanni,1996). I believe that in any profession if your staff does
not feel their opinions and ideas are not being heard and supported and openness to
voice opinions they will not learn and grow. As a supervisor, it is important to get to
know your employees, so they feel comfortable to listen to constructive criticism and
are allowed to make changes. Also, making sure that as a supervisor I am
Comparing Aquinas And St. Bonaventure
Theology in the middle ages, was the leading fascination to the human minds
especially the theologians or more specifically the scholastics. Some of the
scholastics who were fascinated by God are well known and those people are St.
Bonaventure and Thomas Aquinas. Thus far, the two scholastics have interesting
theories on knowing godbut only one is better than the other to prove that god exists.
Thomas Aquinas(while disliking the idea) and St. Bonaventure try to establish this by
pointing out reason, revelation and eventually knowing god. Therefore, the idea of
reason should be well established by either one of the theologians.
The idea of knowing god through the method of reason is how these two theologians
attack this subject. Thomas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Aquinas uses the five ways to prove of the God s existence by indicating; the
motion that makes things possible and makes things work, of efficient cause
things happen because of a cause so that cause is God, for possibility and necessity
things cannot be created so quickly therefore God is responsible for this creation of
the universe, for the gradation of things anything that is created is not really perfect
because of things that happen God is responsible and the final way is the
governance of the world how things are ordered in the world because of God. In
which this is his version of pursuing the idea of divine illumination. Bonaventure has
merely the different aspect but in his way he describes how he exists is by stating the
fact that we are created in God s image in this contemplation consists the perfect
illumination of our mind, when, as it were, on the sixth day it sees man made to the
image of God. The idea expressed by Bonaventure indicates that from the moment
humans were created resembles how the people have the divine illumination of the
mind. Thomas Aquinas and Bonaventure has two different minds for the unity or the

By sharing a lifeboat, Pi had a zoomorphic arrangement with Richard Parker, a 450

both had to adapt to living on a lifeboat with limited supplies and together they went
through traumatizing experiences, such as the storm. By going through this

Fruit Tree Diversity And Fruit Consumption
Chapter 4:
Fruit tree diversity and fruit consumption in the context of deforestation in Cameroon
1.INTRODUCTION
The world has been confronted with serious difficulties in curbing the rate of
undernourishment, especially in sub Sahara Africa (Vicenti et al., 2013; Arnold et
al., 2011; Goenster et al., 2011). In developing countries, the livelihood and food
security of smallholder land users are often at risk from unpredictable harvests,
land degradation and climate change (Paumgarten and Shackleton, 2011; Mertens et
al., 2000; Ndoye and Kaimowitz, 2000; Sunderlin et al., 2000). Of about one billion
hungry people globally, 98% live in developing countries. Seventy percent of
chronically hungry people are smallholder farmers, 43% of total farmers worldwide
are women and 38% of youths in Africa are working in agriculture (Conway and
Wilson, 2012; FAO, 2011). For instance, in forest areas of Cameroon, stunting and
chronic malnutrition was experienced by 30.3% of children between 24 47 months
in the South region and 27.8% in the Centre region (Socpa et al., 2008). Since the
varieties of wildfruits are numerous (Matig et al., 2006; van Wyk, 2005) and vary
from one season and climatic region to another, fruits and wild foods can constitute
important sources of food during crop scarcity (Vicenti et al., 2013; Termote et al.,
2012; Ingram and Shure 2010; Nesbit et al., 2010; Shackleton and Shackleton, 2004).
Thus, fruits can serve as safety nets in the diet of households when

survey where this data would have inconsistent results in our data as a whole. Our
final sample consisted of 80 participants. Our participants were recruited by e mail,
social media, and anonymous text links. The mean average was 28.3 years, with a

Participants completed our survey that was available online through Qualtrics where
our independent variables were embedded in the survey. We did not have to control
our environment to receive valid performance scores. Our method for this assignment
was through a convenience sample since it relies on data collection from population
members who are conveniently available to participate in study (Dudovskiy, John) .

that was used to assess our variable in the survey. This consisted of a six point Likert

The Theme Of Freedom In Anthem, By Ayn Rand
In the book Anthem, by Ayn Rand, the society seems to be precisely perfect. In this
society the characters are not given independence. You may ask, why is this? Well,
we call that type of society a utopia. A utopia is a place where everything is
flawless, almost like paradise. But what is paradise with no independence? There
are rules and laws in this book that takes away the freedom of one of the characters.
The character goes by the name of Equality 7 2521. Equality is trapped in a world
with his so called brothers who come bound together as if they were all one. He
faces risks and dangers that will eventually get him to something he has never
experienced. He will soon be paired with freedom. The freedom to do what he pleases
and to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There could be a relation, connecting this story to the world today. In this book, it
talks about how these men never had the chance to experience freedom or do
whatever they wish to do. In some parts of the world today, there are communities
and societies that have rules and regulations that need to be followed. It may not
be exactly the same laws as the ones in Anthem, but they have purpose in those
laws also. In Anthem, you can tell that these men are being driven to these laws
that may keep them safe, but also keeps them from being who they really are. It
could just be a way to teach them that being independent is bad or telling them that
there is only one way through this life and it is to stand together. There could be so
many possible reasons as to why they would keep these rules, but Equality and his
fellow brothers are also being controlled. Their feelings, thoughts, and even their
actions are being controlled. They may even be scared to take a step forward and
become free, but not for Equality. He seeks freedom in a different way than his
brothers. His brothers think that it is good to become one and fight for one
another, but Equality has a new perspective. All his life, Equality has been facing
the factor of fear and thought that he had no way to liberty, or freedom. It was
almost as if he had never experienced happiness because of the rules and controls he
had to stand by. Until he met her. She went by the name of Liberty
Summary Of Orczy s The Scarlet Pimpernel
The book was written by Hungarian Aristocrat Baroness Emmuska Orczy, and the
book takes on the viewpoint of one who sympathizes with the French aristocrats
during the Reign of Terror. For being a book on historical fiction, it was a fairly
easy read. The purpose of the book is to entertain the readers. Orczy accomplished
that and then some with this book. Following Marguerite Blakeney, formerly
Marguerite St. Just, on a wild adventure filled with suspense and danger, The Scarlet
Pimpernel is a fast pace book that captures and holds the interest of readers. The one
character of the book who stood out the most as being frightened was Marguerite
Blakeney. Throughout the book there were instances of her being frightened and not
knowing how to proceed when first her brother and then her husband were in danger.
In saving her brother, Marguerite was forced into helping Chauvelin find the identity
of the Scarlet Pimpernel (pg69). She later comes to the realization that the Scarlet
Pimpernel is none other than her husband, Percy... Show more content on

The detail used made it easy to picture what the characters were going through. It
showed both the beauty and horrific images the characters came across. The
imagery used also made the book more fun and interesting to read. When the
author uses very little imagery in their writing, it can be difficult to read through
the book. Orczy made the book a breeze to get through. Another thing that was well
done in the book was the use of suspense. Trying to find out who the Scarlet
Pimpernel was kept the reader flipping through the pages. The clues laid down for
the reader to find were great. It made the book take on a life of its own. When
guesses at who the Scarlet Pimpernel were formed, the urge to know whether or not
they were correct kept the reader ensnared in the book. This made the book a very
easy read, which is always nice when the reader has to read the
Machiavelli Role Of Religion
Organized societies frequently have religions that are largely associated with them.
The United States is mostly Christian. North African countries are overwhelming
Muslim ( Global ). Across the world, the number of religions possibly reaches the
thousands due to various sects and circumstances. When analyzing religion, each
example has different origins, but a general understanding of religion is necessary,
and an interesting relationship between religion and society will appear. While one
cannot define every known religion in a concise, comprehensive manner, Merriam
Webster defines religion as a personal set or institutionalized system of religious
attitudes, beliefs, and practices. This definition applies to every religion because an
individual intentionally makes a conscious decision to restructure his values for
another system, which has implications in everyday actions. In Civilization and Its
Discontents, Sigmund Freud claims that an individual uses religion as a method to
pursue pleasure in life even though no one can achieve pleasure. NiccolГІ
Machiavelli states that the influence of religion is advantageous for an aspiring
ruler in The Prince, in which he outlines a strategy for upholding governmental
power. These two authors, from distinct eras, both view religion as more than a set
of rules for pursuing an afterlife. Freud and Machiavelli focus on roles of religion at
different levels, but their perspectives can lend to a theme that compares religion to
Riordan Manufacturing Revenue Cycle Essay example
Riordan Manufacturing Revenue Cycle
Accounting information systems provide the tools to operate and maintain important
data related to an organization and interpret the information to develop quality
financial reports. The revenue cycle of Riordan Manufacturing reflects sales and the
components associated with sales such as inventory, freight, cost of goods sold and
accounts receivable, yet this information is not readily available to each facility.

The company also tracks non traditional information such as quality assurance costs,
research, and development. At this time, Riordan Manufacturing has three operating
entities in Georgia, Michigan and California. Riordan also has a joint venture in
China. Each operating entity keeps independent financials including a general ledger,
accounts payable and receivable, order entry, procurement, sales and purchasing
history, invoicing and shipping, payroll, and financial reporting. The advantage of
having each unit run as its own business is that each unit knows its customers and its
relationship with its customers. They are able to establish personal contact with both
customers and vendors, report on payments and receivables from these customers,
and follow the accounting through to the general ledger. Payroll is handled locally
which increases the understanding of shifts, over time, and labor hour accounting.
Advantages of local order entry is the fact that the individual unit knows the product
or products that it produces and is able to help the customer with the knowledge of
the manufacturing process and how it affects the accounting process. Keeping the
invoicing and shipping localized is advantageous in that it keeps it cohesive and easy
to find errors. The financials will come together from individual manufacturing
divisions to form a reliable source of accurate financial reporting; therefore, the
Dvorak Symphony 9
The second concert film watched in class was Symphony No.9 in E Minor From the
New World , composed by Antonin Dvorak. The piece was performed by the Vienna
Philharmonic. The piece follows the standard form from the Classical era, featuring
four movements. The first and last movements are in Sonata Allegro form, while the
second and third are in ternary form.
The first movement begins with the lower strings playing rather softly, with the
French horn and the winds coming in behind them. The minor tone of the piece, and
the gradual increase in the dynamic, helps build tension. The movement has many
tempo changes as it presents two different themes during it. The themes themselves
can be very loud, especially with the full orchestra playing, ... Show more content on

The first theme has a bold and majestic feel to it, with the trumpets and horns
declaring it. The overall feeling is much more positive than what was seen earlier
and gives a sense that the performance is coming to a major conclusion. The
crescendos are followed usually by the winds, especially the clarinet, and play at a
much softer tone. Once again the timpani plays a large role in adding to the
crescendos and the brass play louder than they have throughout the entire piece. The
performance comes to a conclusion with the full orchestra playing theme 1, and lastly
with the woodwinds bringing it to a close.
There were actually two parts in this piece that I enjoyed the most. The first was the
melody played by the English horn in the second movement. It contrasted the dark
mood of the first movement very well while also being a very soothing melody on
its own. It reminded me most of the type of music found in the Lord of the Rings
film adaptations. I also really enjoyed the crescendo in the third movement and how
Dvorak was able to build up to that moment. I felt the brass and percussion were able
to compliment the strings extremely well and create a very loud
David Berkowits Thesis
David Berkowits was known as the .44 caliber killer. His name however was not
David Berkowitz, for he had changed his name. His real name was Richard David
Falco. This man was known throughout the whole world by his crimes and he
instilled fear in all. The main locations for his killings were in New York. As most
serial killers do, he left a note for the police after every murderegging them on to find
him and stop him if they could. Richard claimed to have been a part of a satanic cult
and said that a dog was bringing him message that commanded him to do the
atrocities that he performed. The dog was named Harvey and wasn t even his, it was
his neighbors. Even though he claimed that he was commanded to do the crimes the

When he was born his name was Richard David Falco, but was soon adopted a few
days after birth by a couple that could not give birth. Their names were Nathan and
pearl Berkowitz. They decided to change his name after birth. Some reports have
said that David was quite intelligent as a child but at the same time he was
perturbed. Psychologist had said that he was close to his adoptive mother as a
child and when she passed he was deeply troubled after. By the age of 18 he joined
the military and was honorably discharged. After leaving the military he searched
for his birth mother and what he found out was the reason most psychologists
believe he went insane. His first murder was a teenage female, and he also shot
another teenage female but didn t kill her. He ended up leaving her paraplegic.
This all occurred on July 29 1976 outside a Bronx apartment building. Three
months later he shot a couple sitting in a car severely damaging the man s skull.
Later on in November he shot two more teenage girls. In January 1977 he once
again targeted another couple in a car. At this point the police could not put the
murders together until they discovered the all the victims had been killed by a .44
magnum. A few months later in March he killed a college student female. Another
month later he killed an un expecting couple. At this point he started to leave
messages for the police force captain. His last attack was on July 31, 1977 and

towns scattered in the map and each town has its own race. A player will start with
one particular race, but as it captures new towns, the player will gain access to
more and more races. Troops can only be led by generals as only generals appear
on the map. Each race has its own type of general and their own advantages, which
makes it important for players to train various generals to gain superiority. 9)
Stronghold (series) The defining feature of the Stronghold series is that players

Can India Sustain Its Present Economic Growth Rate
Can India sustain its present economic growth rate?
India is an emerging economy that is witnessing unprecedented levels of economic
expansion. It is widely expected that India may overtake China as the world s
fastest growing major economy by 2015. However it is not easy to sustain high
levels of economic growth rates. There were a number of countries that experienced
a high economic growth rate but were unable to sustain it for a long period of time.
In order to determine whether India can sustain its economic growth rate we need to
study the various factors that create an impact on India s economy.
There are several factors that have positive impact on India s economic growth rate.
The first is India s demography. India is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The literacy rate of India is only 66%. Shortage of skill aggravates the problem of
developing the infrastructure (Chrystal amp; Lipsey, 2003). Builders, electricians and
plumbers are often scarce.
Nevertheless, Indian government is trying its level best to tackle these problems.
Efforts are under way to get the private sector involved in building world class
infrastructure. The skill shortage, too, is being addressed. The literacy rate is rising
quickly. Among 15 24 years old, it is over 80%. In an attempt to curb corruption and
make India more business friendly, several reforms are being introduced. All these
corrective efforts coupled with the favorable factors will ensure that India will be
able to sustain its current economic growth rate.

Project Management, Project Communication, And
Project...
Introduction This assignment will address three areas of project management that
stood out while taking this program. Project integrated management, project
communication, and project stakeholder management. A discussion on how they are
executed will be presented. As more courses were taken during this project
managementgraduate program, many of the project management concepts became
clear and revealed more of the interdependencies and intricate dynamics that are
required for successful project management.
Stakeholder Management Project Stakeholder Management is under the 13.0 project
knowledge area and entails four management process groups. The process groups are
(1) Initial Planning, (2) Planning, (3) Executing, and (4) Monitoring and Controlling.
What is important to note is without proper management of stakeholders, the
probability of project failures are high. Additionally, the risk to a project being
completed successfully also goes up. According to the Project Management Body of
Knowledge (PMBOK) (2013), any individual that can or may impact, influence, or
alter a project should be identified and have their interest documented. This is knowns
as the identifying stakeholder method (PMBOK, 2013). When all stakeholders are
acknowledged and their interest documented, they all must be managed continuously
throughout the entire project cycle. Furthermore, a tailored process of engagement
must be part of the management process to account for personality variances.

Diversity Essay

  • 1. Diversity Essay Crafting an essay on the topic of diversity is a task that requires both sensitivity and a nuanced understanding of the subject matter. The intricacies of diversity encompass a wide range of dimensions, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, cultural background, and more. The difficulty in writing such an essay arises from the need to navigate through these multifaceted aspects, ensuring that the discussion is inclusive, respectful, and insightful. One of the challenges lies in striking a balance between acknowledging the importance of diversity and avoiding stereotypes or oversimplifications. It's essential to delve into the complexities of various identities, recognizing the unique experiences and perspectives that contribute to the rich tapestry of human existence. Moreover, conveying a genuine understanding of the significance of diversity and its impact on individuals and society requires thoughtful research and reflection. Addressing the potential pitfalls of the topic, such as unintentional biases or assumptions, adds another layer of complexity. Writers must be vigilant in avoiding a superficial approach and instead strive for depth and authenticity. Additionally, the dynamic nature of conversations around diversity demands a continuous awareness of evolving perspectives and the ability to adapt one's narrative accordingly. In conclusion, writing an essay on diversity necessitates navigating a landscape filled with intricacies, nuances, and potential pitfalls. • 2. Add Cake, Subtract Self Esteem Analysis Once upon a time, women were celebrated for their curves. Weight was a symbol of wealth and fertility in a woman. During this time, women were subjugated to being a housewife and nothing more. As time and society progressed, a woman s prison became her body and no longer her home. Women had the freedom to vote, work, play, but could no longer be fat. This new beauty standard of thinness affects women in many ways. In Add Cake, Subtract Self Esteem written by Caroline Knapp, she describes her own personal experience on how this impossible standard affects women s eating which leads to eating disorders and an unhealthy relationship with food. The Beauty Myth written by Naomi Wolf is an essay written to present how the advancements of women in social power lead to a societal backlash that lead to a woman s value being equated to her appearance by both sexes. This devaluation of women has led to a harmful relationship with food and women subjecting themselves to mental and physical torture to be thin. • 3. American Imperialism Dbq During the 19th century the United States witnessed major changes. America went through its own industrial revolution and the technological advancements in manufacturing created a surplus in manufactured goods. The country was producing more than it could consume. The Industrial Revolution evolved the country from a consumer of manufactured goods to a producer, causing a raising need for raw materials. During the latter half of the 19th century, the country faced one of the worst depressions on the history of the US. It began in 1893 and it lasted for more than four years and has put more than half of the labor force out of work. This period provided motives for American commercial expansions. The great American Businessmen began, at this time, to look overseas to expand their businesses and for profit. New colonies also provided captive markets for manufactured good. All these reasons pushed for the rise of Imperialism. At the turn of the 20th century, the United States began to look at two foreign policy issues, isolationism and expansionism. Once the U.S. had its inland empire secured after the Indian wars, it began to look outward. Even though they were determined to remain detached from the Europeans, they believed it was their right to expand. The rise of the United States as a world power, put the country against other colonial powers such as Britain and Germany. The main concepts of the American foreign policy were The Monroe Doctrine and the Open Door policy. The

  • 6. The Effects Of Pesticides On Human Health Out of cereal? Need a new t shirt? Craving some sugar? Immediately, our minds think that it s time for a shopping trip. But where do the malls and supermarkets get their goods from? Wheat, cotton, sugarcane, and rice are a few of the major exports from India s $39 billion dollar agriculture industry (Flake 2014). However, this high output of crops does not come without a cost. Pesticides provide economic benefits by enhancing the yield of food as well as preventing vector borne diseases, but they do so at a risk to the health of India s farmers. Unfortunately, the chemical properties of pesticides that make them effective in their purpose of destroying the insects and pests that feed on crops are the same chemical properties that have a negative effect on human health. Agriculture accounts for about 50% of India s workforce, yet many of these laborers are in contact with potentially toxic chemicals day after day with little effort to minimize their exposure risks (Flake, 2014). This issue does not only concern India s farmers, but also has an impact on a global scale. Worldwide consumption of India s crops that are produced from excessive or harmful pesticideusage and environmental consequences make this a problem that everyone should be aware of. Global agricultural productivity has tremendously increased over the past 50 years since the so called Green revolution, a period of time in which there were technological advancements in farming practices including a widespread

The agency executives taking their seats behind the one way blackboard, prepared to gain information as their puppets reward the participants with a few dollars or an appreciative sentiment. This situation is echoed within the makeup of our online society, as we are given small benefits and social reasons to allow access to our information, while the governmenttakes in as much data as they can to monitor people and hold them down by their own vices. Through this, the government, commonly referred to as Big Brother , controls citizens and while many express that the Internet is a battleground for privacy, the war zone is actually a fabricated idea that the government makes people believe through the allocation of these societal prizes and the bailout excuse of defending them against terrorism. Big Brother claims to be helping people by protecting them, but that is only used as an excuse to keep an eye on everyone. It is clearly a problem of invading privacy, because as Neil M. Richards states, Although we have laws that protect us against government surveillance, secret government programs cannot be challenged until they are discovered. And even when they are, our law of surveillance provides only minimal protections ( 934). The clues to counterfeit luxury items used to be so obvious that most people knew exactly what they were buying. This sadly is no longer the case. The production of counterfeit items causes American manufactures to suffer about $200 billion in losses each year according to the International AntiCounterfeiting Coalition (Freedman, 1999). A large part of counterfeited items are fashion goods. They are usually easily recognizable, especially at the designer or luxury end of the market. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now that almost anything can be faked, counterfeiting is becoming a huge economic issue. Many businesses are losing customers because they are not able to spot counterfeit items. Customers are doing more and more shopping on the Internet for convenience and lower prices rather than shopping at their local trusted retailer. Customers are buying merchandise without knowing the seller or their reputation (McCausland, 2010). The shopper who would never have considered buying from the guy on the corner whispering, Pssst! Want to buy a watch? can easily be fooled by a website that looks genuine but isn t, says Susan Scafidi, a law professor at Fordham Univeristy (McCausland, 2010). Some websites are even very open about the fact that they sell counterfeit merchandise. They label their designer knockoffs as replicas or inspired by the original designer (Freedman, 1999). The shoppers who do not realize that they are buying counterfeit goods or who are knowingly buying counterfeit goods will continue to purchase these items from counterfeiters because they are cheaper than buying the real thing. The customers who are knowingly purchasing fakes are contributing to the reduced profitability of legitimate businesses. These sales have driven companies out of business completely or they have been forced to significantly scale back their operations. Globalized production is another factor that

The market opportunities have the direct relation to the real needs and the demand of customers. Since tractors are used to produce food, people will try to relate the demand of tractors to the population size. It is because the high the population will imply the high consumption of food, the more the country consumes, the more food the country has to produce. But it may not be the whole story. Just think about if a country does not produce food, instead it relies heavily on the imported food. The high number of population means they have to import more. And it does nothing to food production. According to table 3 tractors used in countries from answer to question 2, Australia and New Zealand have an exceptional high utilization of tractors when comparing to their relatively small number of population (by referring to the table 4 population by country from answer to question 2). This is a strong evidence that population is not that much relating to tractors needed in some countries. Hence, population should only be significant to countries to produce food. TYPES OF DEMAND Apparently, the tractors market size can be shown by the tractors number. But the data cannot tell the demand is from internal supply or from external supply. Therefore, the imported tractors data should be used in conjunction to the number of tractors to show the possible potential market for the exporters. Well, to put into perspective, the Jacobean era was best known for the literary and visual arts, which was ruled by James I of England. Comparing it to Elizabethan art, it was heavily influenced by the European Renaissanceideals. But most importantly, the art that was composed around this time, was immensely based around Queen Elizabeth s liking. • 26. The Effects Of Benzodiazepines And Its Effects On The Cell... Xanax is a benzodiazepine that is most often used to treat anxiety. The effects of benzodiazepines mainly come from their ability to alter the movement of the inhibitory transmitter known as GABAa. GABA is triggered to release when it then can bind to the GABAa receptor. The binding of the two causes the ion channel to open and chloride ions are sent across the cell membrane. This causes the inhibitory factor by depolarizing the membrane (Griffin et al., 2013). Benzodiazepines are absorbed well through both per oral and parenteral administrations. However, absorption per orally is more rapid than any other route. Xanax in particular, is highly lipid soluble. Because it is highly lipid soluble, it means that it passes through the blood brain barrier more quickly. Xanax, otherwise known as alprazolam, reaches its peak in concentration in about one to two hours after administration (Griffin et al., 2013). The half life, or the time it takes the drug to decrease by half, is about six to twenty seven hours for adults (Griffin et al., 2013). There is a redistribution of benzodiazepines in body fat. This is a two phase process. During the first phase, there is a fast drop in the blood level as the drug is being redistributed throughout the body. During the second phase the blood level is more slow to drop than the first phase because the drug that is left in the blood is being metabolized and as that is happening it is being replaced by the drug that is being released from the body

He is correct that certain economic factors contribute in consumers choosing certain goods over another, but he allows this view to block his ability to work through a solution that might increase sales. As suggested earlier, Denver Department Stores has been experiencing declining sales over a period of a few months, though the actual reason why this is happening is unknown. A general consensus of the employees is that there have been fewer customers recently, however, managementhas placed the blame on the employees for not working hard enough to make a sale. Initially, as sales began to decline, employees were somewhat social, and appear to have spent more time speaking with customers. To remedy the issue of falling sales revenue, management has implemented a tally card system to encourage the employees to work harder at making sales. With the tally card system, division of labor was lost. Employees of all levels and all departments were provided the same goal of making sales a priority. This included not only regular employees, but also department heads. Putting out and straightening up stock items was pushed aside, leaving the store and backroom looking cluttered, and provided a more cutthroat work environment for employees. In addition to the poor division of labor, the tally card system

Fruit Tree Diversity And Fruit Consumption Chapter 4: Fruit tree diversity and fruit consumption in the context of deforestation in Cameroon 1.INTRODUCTION The world has been confronted with serious difficulties in curbing the rate of undernourishment, especially in sub Sahara Africa (Vicenti et al., 2013; Arnold et al., 2011; Goenster et al., 2011). In developing countries, the livelihood and food security of smallholder land users are often at risk from unpredictable harvests, land degradation and climate change (Paumgarten and Shackleton, 2011; Mertens et al., 2000; Ndoye and Kaimowitz, 2000; Sunderlin et al., 2000). Of about one billion hungry people globally, 98% live in developing countries. Seventy percent of chronically hungry people are smallholder farmers, 43% of total farmers worldwide are women and 38% of youths in Africa are working in agriculture (Conway and Wilson, 2012; FAO, 2011). For instance, in forest areas of Cameroon, stunting and chronic malnutrition was experienced by 30.3% of children between 24 47 months in the South region and 27.8% in the Centre region (Socpa et al., 2008). Since the varieties of wildfruits are numerous (Matig et al., 2006; van Wyk, 2005) and vary from one season and climatic region to another, fruits and wild foods can constitute important sources of food during crop scarcity (Vicenti et al., 2013; Termote et al., 2012; Ingram and Shure 2010; Nesbit et al., 2010; Shackleton and Shackleton, 2004). Throughout the book there were instances of her being frightened and not knowing how to proceed when first her brother and then her husband were in danger. In saving her brother, Marguerite was forced into helping Chauvelin find the identity of the Scarlet Pimpernel (pg69). She later comes to the realization that the Scarlet Pimpernel is none other than her husband, Percy... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The detail used made it easy to picture what the characters were going through. It showed both the beauty and horrific images the characters came across. The imagery used also made the book more fun and interesting to read. When the author uses very little imagery in their writing, it can be difficult to read through the book. Orczy made the book a breeze to get through. Another thing that was well done in the book was the use of suspense. Trying to find out who the Scarlet Pimpernel was kept the reader flipping through the pages. The clues laid down for the reader to find were great. It made the book take on a life of its own. When guesses at who the Scarlet Pimpernel were formed, the urge to know whether or not they were correct kept the reader ensnared in the book. This made the book a very easy read, which is always nice when the reader has to read the
  • 44. Machiavelli Role Of Religion Organized societies frequently have religions that are largely associated with them. The United States is mostly Christian. North African countries are overwhelming Muslim ( Global ). Across the world, the number of religions possibly reaches the thousands due to various sects and circumstances. When analyzing religion, each example has different origins, but a general understanding of religion is necessary, and an interesting relationship between religion and society will appear. While one cannot define every known religion in a concise, comprehensive manner, Merriam Webster defines religion as a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices. This definition applies to every religion because an individual intentionally makes a conscious decision to restructure his values for another system, which has implications in everyday actions. In Civilization and Its Discontents, Sigmund Freud claims that an individual uses religion as a method to pursue pleasure in life even though no one can achieve pleasure. NiccolГІ Machiavelli states that the influence of religion is advantageous for an aspiring ruler in The Prince, in which he outlines a strategy for upholding governmental power. These two authors, from distinct eras, both view religion as more than a set of rules for pursuing an afterlife. Freud and Machiavelli focus on roles of religion at different levels, but their perspectives can lend to a theme that compares religion to

Each operating entity keeps independent financials including a general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, order entry, procurement, sales and purchasing history, invoicing and shipping, payroll, and financial reporting. The advantage of having each unit run as its own business is that each unit knows its customers and its relationship with its customers. They are able to establish personal contact with both customers and vendors, report on payments and receivables from these customers, and follow the accounting through to the general ledger. Payroll is handled locally which increases the understanding of shifts, over time, and labor hour accounting. Advantages of local order entry is the fact that the individual unit knows the product or products that it produces and is able to help the customer with the knowledge of the manufacturing process and how it affects the accounting process. Keeping the invoicing and shipping localized is advantageous in that it keeps it cohesive and easy to find errors. The financials will come together from individual manufacturing divisions to form a reliable source of accurate financial reporting; therefore, the
  • 46. Dvorak Symphony 9 The second concert film watched in class was Symphony No.9 in E Minor From the New World , composed by Antonin Dvorak. The piece was performed by the Vienna Philharmonic. The piece follows the standard form from the Classical era, featuring four movements. The first and last movements are in Sonata Allegro form, while the second and third are in ternary form. The first movement begins with the lower strings playing rather softly, with the French horn and the winds coming in behind them. The minor tone of the piece, and the gradual increase in the dynamic, helps build tension. The movement has many tempo changes as it presents two different themes during it. The themes themselves can be very loud, especially with the full orchestra playing, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first theme has a bold and majestic feel to it, with the trumpets and horns declaring it. The overall feeling is much more positive than what was seen earlier and gives a sense that the performance is coming to a major conclusion. The crescendos are followed usually by the winds, especially the clarinet, and play at a much softer tone. Once again the timpani plays a large role in adding to the crescendos and the brass play louder than they have throughout the entire piece. The performance comes to a conclusion with the full orchestra playing theme 1, and lastly with the woodwinds bringing it to a close. There were actually two parts in this piece that I enjoyed the most. The first was the melody played by the English horn in the second movement. It contrasted the dark mood of the first movement very well while also being a very soothing melody on its own. It reminded me most of the type of music found in the Lord of the Rings film adaptations. I also really enjoyed the crescendo in the third movement and how Dvorak was able to build up to that moment. I felt the brass and percussion were able to compliment the strings extremely well and create a very loud

  • 50. Project Management, Project Communication, And Project... Introduction This assignment will address three areas of project management that stood out while taking this program. Project integrated management, project communication, and project stakeholder management. A discussion on how they are executed will be presented. As more courses were taken during this project managementgraduate program, many of the project management concepts became clear and revealed more of the interdependencies and intricate dynamics that are required for successful project management. Stakeholder Management Project Stakeholder Management is under the 13.0 project knowledge area and entails four management process groups. The process groups are (1) Initial Planning, (2) Planning, (3) Executing, and (4) Monitoring and Controlling. What is important to note is without proper management of stakeholders, the probability of project failures are high. Additionally, the risk to a project being completed successfully also goes up. According to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) (2013), any individual that can or may impact, influence, or alter a project should be identified and have their interest documented. This is knowns as the identifying stakeholder method (PMBOK, 2013). When all stakeholders are acknowledged and their interest documented, they all must be managed continuously throughout the entire project cycle. Furthermore, a tailored process of engagement must be part of the management process to account for personality variances.
