Pay it Forward: Mentoring Our Future LeadersTL Hill
On April 18, Fox School of Business faculty members Becca Zinn and Cliff Tironi facilitated a session on ways to have productive, growth-focused conversations with business professionals participating in a mentorship program hosted by The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia. The event was the third and final session led by Fox School faculty as part of the program, “Pay it Forward: Mentoring our Future Leaders,” designed to help young professionals grow and develop through mentorship.
By introducing methods that helped thousands of software organizations change into the classroom, I hope that we can revolutionize our education system. In doing so, we will not only change how we learn, but we will help our most important customers (our students) prepare themselves for their future.
Being a mentor: How to be the mentor your protégé needsJailza Pauly
Postdocs have a unique (and safe) opportunity to build their own mentoring style and reputation in interactions with undergraduate and graduate students. This presentation addresses how postdocs can advance their career development while working with students. Providing feedback and communicating expectations, balancing students’ learning and performance, motivating others, and managing relationship boundaries will be some of the topics addressed in this presentation.
