The average lifespan of a company is now less than 20 years. Work is being redefined and how we increase productivity, manage talent, and develop skills over the next 5 years will be completely different than the last 20. As we move into the 4th industrial revolution - defined by the use of data automation and machine learning - the need to embrace new technologies and design work around people has never been greater. In a first of its kind, this research-focused presentation shares where investment is going in WorkTech and outline the emerging trends that are redefining how companies embrace the new world of work.
The Age of Smiths (As presented to audience)Arturo Pelayo
The slides are from a talk given at the Telco & Digital Service Futures event organized by CONFERENZ on 21 April 2019.
The audience is CEOs, Business Owners and Execs. The aim is to get them to realize national prosperity by embracing heart and mind while understanding digital disruption and accelerating technologies.
Special Thanks to Rachel Kelly for her incredible support and recommendation to CONFERENZ and to my talk sponsor, The Employers & Manufacturers Association.
We surveyed over 4,000 office workers across the U.S., the UK, and Germany about their views on how technology is changing their jobs, what they think of advanced tech (like AI) in the workplace, and how confident they feel about the future of their careers. Instead of reporting anxiety about how future tech might diminish their roles, office workers are optimistic about how it can boost productivity and have AI work for them. Dive in to learn more. For a quick look, check out our infographic featuring results from U.S. respondents [https://www.slideshare.net/adobe/the-future-of-work-more-than-a-machine-infographic] and a similar study we released in May 2016 surveying more than 2000 office workers in the U.S., U.K. and India. Disruptive Innovation - the key drivers behind today's unprecedented rate of ...Dino Talic
A presentation I gave at the CPA Congress in Brisbane, Australia on 11 Oct 2012. The presentation covers the topic of disruptive innovation and in particular makes a case that industries today are being disrupted at faster rate than ever before in history. I analyse the macro trends driving this acceleration in disruption and also outline how businesses can turn these into opportunities rather than threats.
The next tectonic shift is happening. A cost-effective and easily scalable workforce is now available to anyone in the world. Simultaneously, every industry is now digitised and there is a growing proliferation of cheap and scalable infrastructure - this signals disruption for many existing business models and an opportunity for those willing to act on the changes.
Attend this session to discover:
The shift occurring in the global labour market
How changes in outsourcing and the digital economy will impact your business
How your business can benefit from these changes rather than become a victim
Case studies of businesses driving value through taking advantage of outsourcing and the digital economy

Change is a constant
Society is transforming. Powerful trends are reshaping businesses, driving new technologies, shifting talent needs, and changing human behaviour. It is crucial for all industries to stay up to date with these changes, and respond accordingly.
We’ve mapped these trends for over 20 years by collaborating with industry leaders across the world. We use the insights to shape our programs, so that our talented students meet market demand. With these reports we are sharing our insights with the world.
This is the second issue of the trend report Changes of Tomorrow. It builds on the first report released in Spring 2015. The focus stays the same with four themes framing the research, and we’ve collaborated to define new trends and update existing ones.
Regardless of your industry, it’s essential to consider the impact of these changes on your work. The “Reflect” sections at the end of each trend will help you do that. You will also find tips, tools, and methods to support you to stay up to date and lead the change.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

Editor's Notes
I’m going to cover a lot in a short time, I’ll kind of be all over the place but try to stick with me if you can. I don’t know the future, I’m helping you build it.
Technological Revolution, what we are seeing today is not the first. King David became one of the great leaders of his generation, he was one of great Leadership and had Favor with God. About 200 years before King David there was a tribe known as the Hittites', they were smart and intelligent people in those times, they had knowledge that no one else had and would not let the Israelis have it. They introduced us to the smelting & processing of Iron. Now think about that, they had plows, better weapons and tools than their neighbor countrymen. So in one generation – it changed Israel and the Iron Age also changed ours. The introduction of Iron is much like the microchip we have today. King David is responsible for bringing Iron to the rest of the world.
1.) Where does it come from, how do we solve it, why can’t we get along with other people. 2.) The most advanced society in the world and we still have poverty 3.) Most people live like they are never going to die.
