This document summarizes updates to the WinRAR software, including: 1. Added support for ZIP files with Unicode filenames and ZIP files with WinZIP AES encryption. 2. Enhanced options for updating existing files in archives and deleting files after archiving. 3. Allow resizing the extraction options window and added a progress bar for unpacking multi-volume archives.

1. WIN RAR
Now available the final version of WinRAR 3.80 English, Castilian and Catalan, and
RAR versions for MS DOS, Linux, Mac OS X and FreeBSD.
Brand new in this version include:
1. Added support for ZIP files with Unicode file names in UTF-8. When creating a
ZIP archive, WinRAR stores names in Unicode format file only if it can not be stored
correctly using the current character code of a single byte.
2. Added decompression support for ZIP files with WinZIP AES encryption.
3. Enhanced support for Unicode filenames in RAR and ZIP files.
4. Modes "Prompt before sobreescibir" and "Skip existing files" is now available in
the compression window allow to specify WinRAR behavior when updating already
existing files in the archive. In contrast to existing options "Update existing files only"
and "Add and update files", these new modes ignore file date and buy only the file
names.
The equivalent of these modes in the command line are:
a) The-o option activates the "Ask before sobreescibir"
b) Option-o-activates the "Skip existing files"
c) The-o option activates the "Overwrite all" (default option to compress)
5. New "Add to context menu" in the window profile parameters. " If this option is
activated, the profile name will be displayed in Explorer context menus allowing to
activate the profile from the shortcut menu.
6. New-cp <profile> for selecting the compression profile from the command line.
Supported only by WinRAR.exe and not rar.exe
7. The new tab "Options" in the compression window contains the group of options
that modify the behavior of "Delete files after archiving" of the "General" tab:
a) Delete files. Deletes files normally like in previous WinRAR versions.
b) Move files to the Trash. The deleted files are sent to the trash.
The equivalent option in the command line is-dr
c) Wipe files. Before deleting the file data files are changed to zero to prevent them
from being recovered.
The equivalent option in the command line is-dw
These options take effect only if "Delete files after archiving" is activated. You can
enable any of these options in the default compression profile to change the behavior of
"Delete files after archiving".
8. It is now possible to resize the window "folder and extract options." You can use
the mouse to move its border to the desired size so you can have more space for the
navigation pane. WinRAR remember the size for the next time you access this window.

2. 9. New command "Update" SFX script and new options on the tab "Update" window
"Advanced SFX options". This command and options allow you to deploy updates
based on the date of the files.
10. The command "Shortcut" to SFX script command and "Add shortcut ..." under the
tab "Advanced SFX options" now allow specifying the file with the icon associated with
shortcut.
11. The new "Wipe temporary files" in the "Security" tab from the sale of "Options"
provides a more secure but slower to eliminate temporary WinRAR files.
12. WinRAR and RAR display the total progress bar when unpacking a multivolume
archive if all volumes are present in the same folder.
13. WinRAR and RAR automatically expand names of environment variables in list

14. Added support for TAR files with data "extra field" different from zero.

the input focus between interface elements (files, comment, tree, address) in reverse
order. In previous versions using only functioned like the Tab key.
18. Fixed a possible bug in WinRAR to open trucandos UDF ISO files.
19. The console version of RAR displays the percent of recompressed data when
updating files in solid archive. Previously, the progress indicator to recompress files
