Topics for Today’s Discussion

• Customer process for obtaining aggregated
 consumption data

• Review an example of the data

• How to identify missing data for both residential and
 commercial accounts

• Extrapolation methods to obtain missing data

                                                          2
Support of Local Law 84

• Sound energy management is becoming more
important as buildings are beginning to manage their
 carbon footprint.

• Con Edison is a supporter of Local Law 84 and has
taken several actions to support this benchmarking
 initiative.

                                                        3
Customer Process for Obtaining
            Aggregated Consumption Data
• Customers may request aggregated consumption data from Con Edison
by emailing their requests along with a common area account number
associated with the building to citybenchmarking@coned.com.
     – Please include the name on the account and the service address on
         the request.
     – If you are acting on behalf of the customer of record or requesting
tenant level data, please submit a letter of authorization along with
         your request.

• The fee to obtain aggregated building consumption for up to 24 months of
electric and/or gas usage is $102.50 per building.

• Con Edison will send the requested aggregated building consumption
data by email to the address the request originated from within 15 days
after your payment has been processed.
                                                                                 4

Example on Extrapolating Residential Data

Formula: ((Total consumption / # of units) x # of Missing units) +
Total consumption

 Total consumption for the month = 212,455 kWh
 Number of bills issued during the cycle date = 220
 Units missing from the monthly aggregated consumption = 17

((212,455 / 220 = 966 kWh per unit) x 17 missing units) + 212,455 = 228,877
kWh’s for the billing period

                                                                              7
Extrapolating Missing Commercial Data

• For missing commercial data a value chart will be
provided by the City of New York

  – The values will be based on end use and provided
as a specific usage amount per square foot during a
    specific time frame
  – Once completed the benchmarking rule will be
    available on www.nyc.gov/ggbp
