2. Wikis
What is a Wiki?
• A wiki is a website that
shares information, that
people can comment on
and edit.
.wikispaces.com/
Benefits
• It gives the students an
interactive learning
experience. They can
relate more to this type
of learning.
• I will be using my wiki
to give ideas for arts
integration in my
school.
3. RSS
Benefits
- Allows you to see the
stories in chronological
order as soon as they are
published.
- It keeps you current on
what is happening on your
favorite sites.
- You can use newsfeeds on
your wikis and blogs as well.
4. Blogs
What is a Blog?
A blog is a website that
offers information, shares
experiences, and gives
opinions. Whereas a wiki
has many authors, the blog
has one author, who is
constantly posting.
http://alzheimersx2.blogspo
t.com
Benefits
- It allows an author to
share unique experiences
with many readers.
- It is searchable through
labels and the blog can
contain links to other
blogs and websites for
further information.
5. Power Point
What is PowerPoint?
Powerpoint is a visual
presentation that uses a
series of slides to provide
information. The slides can
contain text, pictures, and
videos.

inybev1/smoky-park
Benefits
- Allows for attractive,
easily accessible
presentations for a
variety of audiences.
- Great for teachers to use
in instruction, and also for
students to use as a visual
aid in oral presentations.
6. Course Reflection
Accomplishments
- I was always intimidated
by the thought of starting
websites or blogs. No
longer.
- I am proud of my wiki and
blog, but they are still a
work in progress.
Challenges
- The hardest part was
trying to post
files/websites to the DCIU
website. It wouldn’t let
me copy and paste. I
spent way too much time
on that.
- Not happy that Glogster
advertised free APP and
it’s not. I wanted to do an
interactive poster and
had to ditch that.
7. The Future
• I want to continue developing my arts integration
wiki, so that I can share ideas with my staff. I
want to add the RSS feed from Kennedy Arts
Center to the wiki.
• I plan on continuing my Alzheimer’s blog. I
haven’t invited people to share yet. I still want to
add videos, links to other sites and an RSS feed
from Alzheimers.org.
• Thank you Mr. Kiker. Sorry if I drove you crazy,
but I am just a beginner.
