Aaron Jones Powerpoint on Start With WhyAaron Jones
This document summarizes key points from Simon Sinek's book "Start With Why" presented by Aaron Jones. It discusses that people are motivated by belonging and purpose more than self-interest. The "Golden Circle" explains that communicating your "Why" is more effective at inspiring people than focusing on "How" or "What". Trust emerges when people feel an organization is driven by more than just self-gain. While it's important to know your "Why", you also need to know the "How". The presentation emphasizes starting by understanding your motivations and communicating those to others to inspire action.
This document discusses principles for effectively communicating the benefits of membership to persuade others using empathy, credibility and focusing on the other person's interests rather than your own. Some key points covered include establishing credibility by demonstrating character, competence and caring; emphasizing mutual benefit over manipulation; and influencing others by first being influenced and helping others get what they want.
This document provides guidance for senior centers to expand their programming by recognizing interests, identifying values, assessing needs and resources, crafting goals, and getting started with new programming. It encourages bringing others into the process, thinking about who is currently served and who could be attracted. Fees for new programs led by volunteers are suggested to help cover costs. Starting small with what is working and building on successes is advised. The role of arts, creativity, and expanding offerings is discussed.
Does your senior center programming reflect what people want and need in the 21st Century? Senior centers need to be ready for this new population of aging Boomers, while still serving the current aging folks we’ve served for decades. Like most human service agencies many senior centers are facing reduced funding from their tried and true sources. Join this webinar and learn ways to implement changes, in spite of reduced revenue, that will have a positive impact on your center.

Discover how great leaders create meaningful opportunities for challenge and growth
People and organizations grow and develop when they intentionally pursue goals and challenges that stretch their skills and test their mettle. This workshop focuses on aligning the needs of the organization with the career aspirations of those they lead. Great leaders are opportunity-creators; they "open doors" of opportunity for others.
Drawing on the concepts introduced in the bestselling leadership training book, Leaders Open Doors (ATD Press, 2014), participants learn radically simple ways to help people and organizations grow by creating challenging and meaningful opportunities. The emphasis is on equipping participants with specific actions and take aways that can be immediately applied back on the job. A leader has two primary jobs; 1. Leave the organization better off than you found it, and 2. Leave people better off than you found them. This webinar will help leaders accomplish both!

Every single organization on the planet, even our own careers, always function on three levels. What we do, How we do it and Why we do it.
When all those pieces are aligned, it gives us a filter through which to make decisions. It provides a foundation for innovation. When all three pieces are in balance, others will say, with absolute clarity and certainty,
“We know who you are,” “We know what you stand for.”
Whether they realize it or not, all great and inspiring leaders and organizations think, act and communicate just like each other…and it’s the complete opposite from everyone else.

Do you know what benefit Millennial employees want 3 TIMES MORE than cash bonuses?
Millennials, or the Gen Y workforce born between 1982 and 2002, are success-oriented but can be very high maintenance. They don’t adapt to corporate cultures. Your company must be “Millennial-friendly” or risk a high turnover rate with this not-so-tolerant generation.
With mass Boomer retirement starting, and the smaller number of Gen X workers replacing them, smart employers are currently scrambling to determine not only how to recruit their next generation of young employees, but how to retain the Millennials they have now.
Join us as Lisa Orrell, author of 2 best-selling books, Millennials Incorporated and Millennials into Leadership, explains the eight critical retention requirements Millennials seek from an employer. Lisa’s insight is backed by recent research into the Millennial generation and her years of experience working with multi-generations in organizations large and small.
In this presentation you will learn:
What makes the Millennial worker tick?
Where do you find and recruit this next generation worker?
How can you motivate, inspire and retain your Millennial workers?
Learn how your company can keep its best & brightest future leaders.

Gonegosyo wtc-orig-mindsets of entreps-2010-ardy robertoArdy Roberto
(1) The document summarizes the mindsets of successful entrepreneurs according to Ardy Roberto. It discusses five key mindsets: gratitude, investing in education, dreaming big while starting small, investing in relationships, and thinking entrepreneurially by working on the business rather than in it.
(2) It provides examples like Edwin Pages who grew his business from a small "beerhouse" to an online real estate company.
(3) The overall message is that to be a successful entrepreneur, one must cultivate the right mindsets and work on growing the business through systems rather than being trapped working in it. The business should not own you but you should own the business.
The document discusses the concept of the experience economy as presented by Joseph Pine and James Gilmore. Some key points:
- As economies develop, the focus shifts from goods and services to experiences.
- Experiences engage customers on sensory, emotional, cognitive and physical levels beyond simply providing a service.

The document provides tips and strategies for effective networking based on Martha Bartlett Piland's philosophy and experience. Some key points include:
1) Networking is about generosity and helping others, which will come back to benefit you through expanded connections.
2) The most important steps are to listen first when meeting someone, find common interests and how you can help them, and then look for ways to connect them with others in your network.
3) Asking for help yourself is also important after you've established your generosity and expanded your network of contacts who will want to help you in return. Reciprocity and ongoing engagement are essential to strong networking.
Over recent years schools have tried, and often struggled, to understand how to work effectively with the 'millennial' generation. Now a new, and very different, generation is entering the workforce.Generation Z, GenZ or the iGeneration, have grown up in a time of crises; whether financial, social, political or medical. But they have also been brought up and educated during a period of unprecedented technological development. These factors have shaped their understanding of the wider world and, consequently, their expectations of the workplace. This presentation will examine the factors and experiences that have shaped Generation Z and some of their perceptions about work. It will look at the ways in which schools can attract and retain Generation Z and the opportunities that their understanding may provide.
This document discusses millennial trends and behaviors. It begins with an introduction about understanding the characteristics of millennials in order to manage and counsel them. These are my views on the book. Stephen R. Covey has been my first favorite author since so long that I even forgot lately - why? Recently I got a chance to go through the book again and I found out the answer. Hope this compact version helps others too in some or the other way.
This summary is about a 1998 study conducted in 10 day care centers in Haifa, Israel:
1) The study found that before imposing fines for late child pick-ups, the average number of late pick-ups per week was normal.
2) After imposing fines for pick-ups over 10 minutes late, the number of late pick-ups initially increased over the next two weeks.
3) However, over the next three weeks and months, the number of late pick-ups topped out and decreased, even after the fines were removed, showing that the fines fundamentally changed parents' relationship with day care workers.

(SERIOUSLY)
NOT
HAPPY.
12. Technology
▪Filters – life is good in your
posts. But in reality it isn’t.
▪Releases Dopamine –
chemicals that makes you feel
good.

These are slow,
messy, awkward
processes…..
Please understand,
success, happiness
and fulfillment
takes time.
14. Environment
▪The Mass Media brainwashes us!
▪Quantity over quality!
▪You should be more, you should
have this and that.. You should be
like this and that…
16. ▪ That is why we are here.
▪ That is why we have this conference.
▪ We need right perspective.

▪ We need inspiration.
▪ We need Motivation.
▪ We need encouragement.
▪ We need hope.
▪ We need one another.
▪ We need leaders.
17.
18. In God’s Perspective
(using logic and Reason)
▪You have a purpose.
▪You are created perfectly
imperfect.
▪You have the power to
change your life.
19. The Challenges
▪ Kapit lang bes…- be resilient,
wala kang haharaping hindi mo
kakayanin
▪ May poreber kay bes - Be a
good friend, para magkaroon
ka rin ng good friends.
▪ Serve. This is the best way
to have a positive outlook in
life.
