This is the powerpoint that supported the - Communicating to Influence - training organized by the Directory of Social Change at the Charity Fair 2010 (http://www.charityfair.org.uk/) ------------ The training starts with looking at the ethics behind influence, persuasion and manipulation: where is the line? Then we look at the great onion: behaviour versus values. You then explore the different communication styles and finish on the habit some people have to hint.
A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

Who Am I?
2. Interests and Work Values:
My Actual Interests:
The Interest & Work Values said I enjoy reading
and writing and therefore should pursue a career
in an are involving reading and writing. I disagree
with this on the grounds that 10 questions is not
enough to decide what a person’s interests are. I
have no interest based off of writing.
Potential Career Field:
I like to think of myself as a science-
minded person, and would like to end
up in a math or physics related are.
Although I am interested in art and
cultural activities, I prefer that as
largely a hobby.
Interests:
-geology
-philosophy (mainly epistemology)
-world history (1950-1980)
-astronomy
-music theory
3. How I Appear to Others:
My Learning Style
Others see you as fresh,
charming, and practical;
someone who is popular, but
composed and unpretentious.
They also see you as
considerate and understanding;
always there for your friends.
Again, I disagree with the quiz, as 10 questions is
hardly enough to gauge a person by. In fact, I have
not been called anything on the list asides
practical. More realistically, people describe me as
hardworking, confident and funny. Negatively,
people call me pretentious, rude, and immature. A
lot of people say I constantly look stressed or
nervous, but say once they get to know me I seem
pretty normal, and just look stressed.
I got a visual learning style on the quiz, which is
what I always get on these quizzes. I think it suits
me, as I have a hard time paying to lectures, and
generally read along in a textbook when a teacher
is talking. I also prefer to look things up online
instead of asking for help.
4. My Strengths:
I view this as a pretty accurate
representation of my strengths, and
realize that these are also the ones
that I focus on most. I like to mentally
review my actions every day, leading
to my high intrapersonal stat. I feel
that I satisfy both my naturalistic and
logical sides with my natural curiosity.
I am always reading nonfiction,
watching documentaries and going to
science events. Although I feel like my
music stat should be higher, I realize
that a lot of my interest in musical is
technical, and is therefore better
represented by my logic stat.
5. Other Things
Leisure Activities: I mainly like watching movies, reading books, and
listening to music when I’m by myself, but if an event like a concert, talk
or art exhibition interests me, I will definitely go to it.
Friends: I have a pretty tight friend group that always has lunch together.
We also like to go out for food and coffee, and play board games and
watch movies at each other's houses.
Style: I am not really into fashion, but try to look a bit preppy, with dress
shirts, pants, and colored shorts.
Music: I will listen to anything, but am currently into bebop, electronic,
krautrock, noise rock, and flamenco guitar.
6. Other Things
Restaurant: Although I am not picky, I have never liked
vinegar and mayonnaise, so my favorite restaurants are
usually ethnic. In particular, Thai, Japanese, and Indian
restaurants are my favorite. I also love coffee.
Movies: I like weird movies, but in a surreal way, not in a
quirky or absurdist way. I also like particular film
movements, mainly New German Cinema, Polish School,
Italian Neorealism,, and Japanese movies from the 50’s
to the early 90’s.
Books: I like hard science fiction, the classics, and books
about science.
