Who Is Sina-Drums?
Sina Doering, widely recognized by her stage name Sina Drums, is a young German drummer
making waves in the music world. Born on May 6, 1999, in Margburg, Germany, Sina grew up
in a musical household. Her mother was an amateur piano player and singer, while her father
Michael Doering was a professional studio and live musician who toured Europe with the
Beatles tribute band The Silver Beatles.
Sina started taking weekly drum lessons at age 10 and continued for 7 years. In 2017, she
enrolled in an intensive one-year drumming program at the Drummers Institute in Krefeld to
hone her skills in various genres and techniques.
At just 14 years old, Sina launched her YouTube channel Sina-Drums, uploading videos of
herself expertly covering complex drum parts of songs by bands like Dream Theater. Her very
first drum cover on the channel was "Metropolis Pt. 1" by Dream Theater, a remarkably difficult
song for such a young musician to tackle. With the help of her father handling the recording
and video production, Sina's drum covers quickly gained popularity on YouTube.
Now with over 1.5 million YouTube subscribers, the Sina-Drums channel features nearly 500
videos showcasing Sina's versatility across multiple genres, original collaborations with other
musicians, and original music released under the name Chi Might Project. Sina is currently in
her second year of a Jazz & Pop program at the ArtEZ Academy of Music in Arnhem.
In addition to her YouTube career, Sina plays live shows as the drummer for the German hard
rock band The Gäs. At age 18, she joined the Cologne-based band which headlines 3-4
shows per month across Germany. Sina has commented that performing live gives her a
different experience than studio playing, allowing direct fan interaction.
Sina has leveraged her YouTube platform to collaborate with diverse musicians from around
the world. In 2015, she organized the Chi Might Project, a virtual band with 15 different
musicians recording 15 original songs. Her creative spirit and drumming talents continue to
win over fans globally.
