Students found the use of VLE to access administrative functions valuable. In addition, students valued the use of the collaborative option on VLE. For example, students found it useful to share videos on different topics of accounting and the use of e-assessments. Results illustrate how the VLE is a tool for connecting students to more flexible and independent routes of learning and to developing skills that will be valued in the world of ‘Trust Yourself’ in which independence, autonomy and personal responsibility are central attributes to be developed.
