WHAT´S THE REPRODUCTION FUNCTION?
 It´s all the processes which allow us to have babies.
 THE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM is the part of the body
responsible for reproduction.
 THE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEMS are different in men
and women.
 The men reproductive system produces spermatozoa.
 The women R.S produces ova.
 HUMAN REPRODUCTION is sexual because it needs
two people.
THE MALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM
 It is responsible for producing spermatozoa.
 It is made up of different organs. The most important ones
are the testes and the penis.
 TESTES: they produce spermatozoa. They are oval and are
inside the scrotum, which is a bag of skin.
 PENIS: it is a long organ located over the scrotum. The urethra
runs through it.
THE FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM
 It produces ova and protects the baby while it develops.
 It is made up of the ovaries, the uterus, the Falopian tubes,
the vagina and the vulva.
 OVARIES: they produce the ova. They are oval and are
inside the abdomen.
 UTERUS: It is a hollow, pear-shaped organ with thick
muscular walls. In here, the baby develops.
 FALLOPIAN TUBES: They are two tubes which connect
the ovaries with the uterus.
 VAGINA: It is a tube that connects the uterus with the
outside.
 VULVA: It is formed by the labia, which covers the
entrance of the vagina and the urethra.
FERTILISATION, PREGNANCY AND BIRTH
 FERTILISATION is when a spermatozoon and a ovum join
together to create a zygote. Then, it develops into an
embryo inside the uterus.
 PREGNANCY is the process when the embryo develops
inside the uterus and becomes a foetus.
During the pregnancy, the foetus receives food and
oxygen from the mother through the placenta. And it also
expels waste matter. The umbilical cord connects the
foetus´tummy to the mother.
BIRTH
 When the foetus has developed, the uterus contracts and
the next process begins. It usually happens after 9
months.
 BIRTH is when the foetus comes out the mother through the
vagina.
The doctor cuts the umbilical cord and the result is our umbilical
button.
