1) The document discusses enterprise 9-1-1 communications and response. It notes that accurate location information is critical for emergency responders but often missing from 9-1-1 calls from multi-line telephone systems.
2) Three key concerns with 9-1-1 call processing from enterprises are access to 9-1-1, notification that a 9-1-1 call was made, and proper routing of calls to ensure they reach 9-1-1.
3) Proper location information is needed at the public safety answering point to dispatch emergency responders, but enterprise data does not currently reach 9-1-1 databases. Simultaneous on-site notification and broadband data delivery may help

1) Enterprise 9-1-1 solutions require direct access to 9-1-1, on-site emergency notification, and preventing internal call termination without training.
2) Proper emergency call routing, location discovery, and data correlation are important challenges for enterprise 9-1-1. Mobility and remote working add complexity.
3) While cloud-based solutions exist, emergency notification belongs on-premises, and single points of failure should be avoided. Additional location data is best provided simultaneously to on-site and emergency responders.

The document discusses the definition, characteristics, and process of making a short film. It defines a short film as a motion picture that is 40 minutes or less including credits. The key characteristics of a short film are simplicity, interesting characters, conflicts, and emotion. The steps to make a short film include choosing equipment, writing a script, storyboarding, filming, and editing. Examples of short films and non-examples of longer works are also provided.
The document discusses the concept of a positive reinforcer. It provides an example from the text where attention from Dawn acts as a reinforcer for Rod's crying behavior, increasing its frequency. It then defines a positive reinforcer as a stimulus that increases the frequency of a response it follows. Key points are that the reinforcer must follow the response within 60 seconds or less to be effective, with closer to immediate (0 seconds) being better. Delays longer than 60 seconds may not reinforce the response.
This document provides instructions for a computer-based homework on shaping behavior. It describes Dawn using gum as a reinforcer to shape Andrew's speaking behavior. Dawn reinforced Andrew with gum each time he looked at the gum she was holding. This increased the frequency of Andrew looking at the gum. Dawn then shaped intermediate behaviors like lip movements and small vocalizations toward the terminal goal of speaking. She focused on shaping response dimensions like topography of lip and vocal movements.
PVM OLED Series – Sony’s OLED Picture Monitoravkom
This document provides an overview of Sony's professional monitor lineup for 2011, including both OLED and LCD models. It introduces two new OLED picture monitors, the 24.5-inch PVM-2541 and 16.5-inch PVM-1741, which offer top-end picture quality using Sony's OLED panel technology. It also discusses enhancements to Sony's LCD monitor lineup, including new 3D, slim-bezel, and entry-level models. The document promotes Sony's monitors as meeting a broad range of application needs from broadcast to surveillance.
Dawn, a therapist, noticed that a client named Andrew seemed interested in a piece of gum she was holding. She decided to use this as a potential reinforcer. Dawn began giving Andrew pieces of gum each time he looked at the gum, which increased the frequency with which he looked at it. This established gum as a reinforcer for Andrew. Dawn then chose the goal of shaping Andrew's behavior to be speaking. She analyzed the individual physical properties or "response dimensions" of speaking, such as moving the lips and vocal cords. Dawn began shaping Andrew's behavior along the "topography" response dimension by reinforcing successive approximations of speaking behaviors.
Commercial Enterprise networks contain a treasure trove of valuable information about the endpoints they serve on their networks, profiles of users, critical environmental data points, and discrete geospatial references that include not only X and Y, but the elusive ‘Z’, or altitude that is critical in a multistory building. While this information is useful to the 911 Call Taker and enables them to make intelligent dispatch decisions, the real value of this data is to the First Responder who can correlate that in real-time with responders on the scene. NG9-1-1 ready Enterprise networks, NG9-1-1 ESInets at the State and local level, and the roll out of 1st Responder broadband connectivity through FirstNet will provide, for the first time in history, an intelligent, end-to-end connection between the citizens who need help, and the emergency responders that provide that help. Avaya’s Chief Architect for Worldwide Public Safety Solutions will demonstrate how simple existing Over The Top technology can provide that valuable content today over existing networks, and be radically improved upon once NG9-1-1 is implemented.
The document is a song about ineffective contingencies used in a relationship. It describes various contingencies the man and his partner try to use to control each other's behavior, including punishment, reinforcement, and avoidance contingencies. However, all of the contingencies fail the "Dead-Man Test" and do not actually change behavior. As the contingencies fail, the man's problems worsen, giving him the "Dead-Man Test Blues." The document also briefly defines the Dead-Man Test as assessing if a dead man could perform the behavior, in which case it is not actually a behavior.

The document outlines safety rules for a science lab class where students will be doing hands-on experiments with potentially hazardous chemicals and equipment. It states that following the safety rules is necessary to ensure all experiments are conducted safely and enjoyably. The rules instruct students to always wear safety goggles when working with substances that could get in the eyes, to point test tubes away from themselves and others when heating, and to notify the teacher immediately if any injuries occur or chemicals contact the skin.
There is no doubt that WebRTC is enabling multimodal communications across the board. It also has the ability to accelerate the adoption of multi-modal NG Emergency Communications Services between Public Safety and constituents without a complete rebuild of the PSTN.
The document discusses measurement and conversions using the International System of Units (SI). It defines the base SI units for length, volume, mass, temperature and time. It also describes the common SI prefixes like kilo, hecto and milli used to indicate multiplication or division of the base units by powers of ten. Examples are provided to show how to convert between different units using the prefix multipliers.

My Keynote Presentation to SunTel customers on October 23, 2014Mark Fletcher, ENP
This document discusses next generation emergency services and public safety solutions. It begins by summarizing a tragic incident where a 911 call failed, resulting in a woman's death. It then discusses the need to move away from outdated 911 technologies and systems based on phone numbers to solutions that can accurately identify a caller's location. The document discusses cloud-based hosted 911 solutions, location discovery mechanisms, and how providing additional data to first responders can help in emergency situations. It emphasizes that phone numbers are no longer relevant with new technologies and nomadic behaviors, and that next generation solutions are needed to support modern communications and public safety needs.

NG Emergency Services as presented at the LA City Club - July 2014Mark Fletcher, ENP
1) Next generation 911 systems aim to modernize emergency services by moving away from 1970s-era technology that relies on phone numbers and addresses.
2) These systems will provide richer data like photos, video, text and a caller's precise location directly to emergency call takers.
3) Collaboration between emergency agencies will also be improved through persistent contextual conferencing which allows all responders to view a complete picture of an incident.
Emergency Services are a global concern. Understanding how they work, and what level of reporting will provide an appropriate response is critical. This presentation shows how Enterprise MLTS/PBX users can deploy NG112 services TODAY that are Over the Top of the legacy network, and ready for the network deployment that is underway.

The document discusses public safety and emergency solutions for schools. It addresses the needs that schools have and the different components required for an effective emergency response system. It emphasizes that the solution requires more than just equipment and must address the specific needs and requirements of each individual school. The document also provides examples of potential emergency situations and outlines a sample agenda for workshops to help schools identify their specific needs and develop emergency response plans.
1) The document discusses the need for enterprises to implement Next Generation 9-1-1 capabilities that go beyond basic emergency call routing. This includes providing accurate location data, correlating emergency calls with other relevant data sources, and proper routing for remote or mobile users.
2) Current E9-1-1 systems rely on outdated ANI/ALI databases that do not account for issues like mobile users or modified caller IDs, meaning the location data they provide is often irrelevant. NG9-1-1 aims to fix these problems by sending additional data to PSAPs through the SIP protocol.
3) Enterprises are encouraged to start preparing for NG9-1-1 by designating internal data

5 Worst Case Scenarios Your Hosted VoIP Provider Should Be Ready For-LONG VER...Jive Communications
Hosted VoIP’s natural advantages can mean big benefits for your business in the event of a disaster or other outage.
If you’re investigating a Hosted VoIP solution, here are 5 common worst-case questions a Hosted VoIP provider should be able to address.
With an on-premise system, any disaster that knocks out your office will also likely take out your phone system. When that happens, no one can answer calls, no one can leave voicemails—and all your system configurations, settings, and dial plans are lost.
Because Hosted VoIP is delivered on a hosted basis via the Cloud, your configuration and settings are stored safely off-site, usually in redundant data centers. If your IP phones are ruined by a disaster, a Hosted VoIP solution can provide failover options that reroute incoming calls to predetermined extensions, like a home or cell phone number. Your callers can still get through to someone or leave voicemail messages as if nothing had happened.
The document discusses opportunities for small businesses with voice over internet protocol (VoIP) technology. It describes how VoIP allows companies to realize cost savings in communication by transporting voice calls over the internet. It also outlines benefits of VoIP including reducing toll and long distance charges. Additionally, it addresses factors to consider for businesses deciding whether to migrate phone systems to VoIP.

The letter summarizes a tragic event where a woman was murdered in a Texas hotel room in front of her children. When the children called 9-1-1 from the hotel room phone for help, no one answered. The letter argues that multiline telephone systems like those in hotels often require dialing 9 first to access an outside line, but callers in emergencies may not know this. The letter urges the FCC to require that 9-1-1 calls from any phone be connected to emergency services without needing an access code, that 9-1-1 calls not be intercepted by on-site staff, and that on-site notification be provided when an emergency call is made. This would help address situations like the family

The Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies / Colorado Public Utilities Commission will be holding a workshop on December 11th. This document summarizes the Avaya response to 5 specific issues that they will be reviewing for additional requirements. These requirements are focused around MLTS E911 functionality specified in "Kari's Law" as passed in several States, and recently submitted to Congress by Congressman Gohmert of Texas.
The document describes 11 cases where individuals called 911 for emergencies but experienced delays or errors in the emergency response due to issues locating their positions or transferring the 911 calls. These issues led to deaths or medical complications in several of the cases. The document raises the question of whether 911 systems face problems today given modern technology and suggests solutions may be possible without large investments.

TTY/TDD machines allow deaf, hard of hearing, or speech-impaired individuals to communicate over standard phone lines by transmitting text. TTY/TDD calls to 911 may come directly from the caller or through a relay service. Operators should be aware that TTY/TDD communication is half-duplex, without error correction, handshaking, or ability to interrupt. Understanding the Baudot code format used in TTY/TDD is important for interpreting symbols and numbers. Training and practice with TTY/TDD technology helps emergency operators provide a vital lifeline for callers who are deaf or have communication disabilities.
The National Fire Protection Association is requesting comments for the 2016 edition of NFPA 1221. their standard for the installation, maintenance and use of emergency services communications systems under TIA LOG 1171.
While AVAYA commends the NFPA for continuing action on MLTS enhancements, the current proposal requiring direct dial numbers on each device will add considerable expense, monthly recurring fees and be a burden to MLTS owner operators where other methods can be deployed at little to no cost that can provide even greater detail and situational awareness to local 1st responders within the facility, or to Public Safety officials upon arrival at the dispatchable address designated for the facility.
