because He hears
from heaven and acts
accordingly

Father responded
(Luke 22:39-46)

merciful; Slow to anger and great in
lovingkindness.

• 1 Corinthians 10:13 No
temptation has overtaken
you but such as is common
to man; and God is faithful,
who will not allow you to be
tempted beyond what you
are able, but with the
temptation will provide the
way of escape also, so that
you will be able to endure it
Psalms 116:7
• The psalmist has rest now because of what God has done.
The psalmist cries out to God while the pains of death
surround him. The pangs of Sheol (grave) lay hold of him.
• God has heard his voice and supplication, He has inclined
his ear to him. As a result he tells his soul to to return to
your rest (let the anxiety go, forsake it).

meaning full and complete rest. He reminds himself that
God has dealt bountifully with us.
