Man is composed of spirit, soul, and body. The soul contains the mind, will, and emotions. When Eve saw that the fruit was desirable for gaining wisdom, she ate it and gave some to Adam, who also ate. Their disobedience introduced sin and death into the world. Salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ, who came to bring abundant life. Righteous living, good works, and religious acts cannot save; salvation is found solely through accepting Jesus's sacrifice on the cross by grace through faith.
