Sermon by: Brian Birdow
This document contains several Bible passages about God's interest in future generations. Matthew 7:9-11 discusses how God, as a good Father, provides for his children. The other passages note that God revealed himself to past generations like Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and that he desires future generations to know about his works and teachings through what parents pass down. However, Judges 2:8-10 warns that when one generation dies, the next may not know God if not taught about him. The document provides suggestions for blessing others with a focus on marriage, honesty, and specific, frequent prayers for their well-being.
JANUARY 4, 2015 -Thanksgiving worship message - The attitude of gratitude in ...Catherine Lirio
The document discusses the importance of having an attitude of gratitude. It makes three key points:
1. An attitude of gratitude makes us pleasant to God and others, as it pleases God when we give thanks.
2. Gratitude charges our hearts with joy, as thanking God fills us with positive emotions like joy.
3. Having gratitude implies and strengthens our positive mental health and trust in God, as it helps us overcome negative mindsets like complaining and envy. It also keeps us obedient to God by avoiding what displeases him.
The overall message is that cultivating an attitude of thankfulness brings many spiritual and psychological benefits, so we should pray that all people possess
Tit 2:11-14 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
Christian prayer is not ritual, nor navel gazing, but entrance into the presence of the Almighty, asking him to move his hand to move the nations. A framework of process and lifestyle.
WHAT GOD WANTS YOU MUST HAVE DONE BEFORE RETURNING TO DUSTStanley Tan
God wants people to live their lives for Him and accomplish certain things before returning to dust in death. This includes believing in Jesus, being born again by the Spirit, living by faith in Christ, doing God's will, being useful in teaching His word, bearing fruit and making disciples, living in obedience and fear of God. If people fully obey God, He will bless them tremendously. God wants each person to reach their full potential and be excellent for His glory.
The document contains a passage from Psalms that praises God for creating humanity and being good, merciful, and faithful. It instructs believers to enter God's presence with thanksgiving, praise, and blessing of His name. The passage expresses that the Lord alone is God and deserves worship from all people.
June 12 2016 - SUNDAY MESSAGE - THE POWER OF PRAYER ... By: Ptr. Rey YutucCatherine Lirio
This passage discusses the importance and power of prayer. It encourages believers who are suffering or sick to pray and call upon church elders for prayer and anointing with oil. The prayer of faith will heal the sick and forgive sins. We should confess sins to each other and pray for healing. Prayer should be continual and done with humility, according to God's will, and with the right motives. Prayer makes us strong during hard times, brings wonderful results, and makes us bold to win others to Christ.
GOD'S PRESENCE IN THE HOUSE OF A GREAT CHRISTIAN FAMILYStanley Tan
The document discusses how God blessed the household of Obed-Edom because the Ark of God, which symbolizes God's presence, was housed there for three months. It provides instructions for making one's own household into an "Obed-Edom house" where God's presence dwells, including: 1) Filling the home with praise and worship, 2) Keeping the home clean and free of unholy objects, and 3) Using the home for cell group meetings where God's word is discussed. The goal is to have God bless the home as He did Obed-Edom's by dwelling there.

Paul ministered in Ephesus for 3 years, teaching publicly and from house to house. The letter to the Ephesians discusses the blessings believers have from God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God the Father chose believers before creation, adopted them, and granted them grace. God the Son redeemed believers through His blood, forgiving their sins. God the Holy Spirit sealed believers and guaranteed their future inheritance until redemption.
This document discusses building up the body of Christ through participation, partnership, and using spiritual gifts. It emphasizes that as members of Christ's body, we each have different gifts given by the Holy Spirit for the common good. It encourages readers to arm themselves with Christ's attitude, live for God not sinful desires, and use their gifts to serve others faithfully as they build up the church in love. The goal is for God to be praised through our united service as we go forward in hope, faith, and love.
This document discusses praying to know God better through wisdom and revelation from the Holy Spirit. It encourages thanking God for the faith of believers and praying to understand the hope of God's calling, His inheritance in believers, and His great power, as described in Ephesians 1. Various quotes are provided about hope and Scripture giving encouragement. The overall message is to pray for enlightenment on these spiritual blessings and truths.
5 Things (Script + Black and White Visuals)LRMMissions
The "5 Things" Lesson is a lesson focused around discipling children. The first half of the lesson teaches of what God has done for us while the second half teaches that which we can do for Him
This document discusses the dangers of drifting away from one's salvation in Jesus Christ. It encourages giving earnest heed to the gospel message that was spoken through God's Son and confirmed by apostles through miracles. If one neglects this great salvation, they lose forgiveness of sins, power over sin, assurance of God's presence, and hope for eternity. Currents like time, familiarity, society, the flesh, and daily concerns can cause one to drift. The key is to diligently follow Jesus' example through studying scripture daily with prayerful devotion.
Jewish people celebrate Shavuot and the harvest of wheat, while Christians celebrate Pentecost and the harvest of the church. Both holidays commemorate the giving of the law at Mount Sinai and the empowering of believers by the Holy Spirit. Pentecost marks when the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples in tongues of fire, empowering the early church and inaugurating the age of grace.
Mt 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Mk 16:15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
Act 1:8 "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
Is Jesus Christ the only way to salvation? Our answer is "Yes". In a world today where pluralism and relativism are readily embraced, where people try to accommodate every idea and notion, and pretentiously overlook obvious contradictions, truth that is "hard and fast" is not readily welcomed. But our goal is not to please people but to proclaim the truth in love and understanding. Each one is free then to make their own decision after having heard the truth. We present 3 simple, yet important reasons why.

The document discusses the biblical concept of faithfulness as a fruit of the Spirit. It defines faithfulness as being rooted in God's unending love, mercy, and covenant loyalty. God's faithfulness is seen in his keeping of promises, bringing triumph to sufferers, forgiving confessed sins, and helping with temptation. For humans, faithfulness means being devoted to God rather than money and keeping one's word even if it causes personal harm. The document urges measuring God's faithfulness by his promises rather than one's circumstances.
Christian giving is different because it reflects God's generous character and is motivated by worship of God rather than selfish concerns. It values poor people as God values them and sees giving as an investment for eternity rather than something with just temporary value. Christian giving expresses worship of God through generous gifts that are a fragrant offering to him.
The document discusses the history and practice of tithing. It notes that many ancient countries had a form of tithing as a tax. Tithing is first mentioned in the Bible with Abraham and was later commanded under Mosaic law, though the Israelites sometimes neglected it. In Jesus' time it had become a legalistic ritual. The New Testament does not command Christians to give 10% and early Christians saw tithing as part of the Old Covenant. For Christians, giving should be motivated by love rather than law and done joyfully according to what one has received from God.
The document discusses the discipline of God. It notes that God disciplines believers for their good so they can share in his holiness. While discipline is not pleasant, it produces righteousness and peace for those who endure it. The document urges readers to persevere in their faith with endurance, fixing their eyes on Jesus, who endured the cross for the joy of bringing many to salvation.

God wants to bless people abundantly. The document discusses several blessings that God promises, including becoming a great nation, having an eternal hope and home in heaven, being forgiven of sins, having abundance and prosperity, finding joy in God's word, being surrounded by supporting friends and finding fulfillment in work and rest. It encourages the reader to generously give away a percentage of their resources, as God loves a cheerful giver.
Resolving Conflicts In A Great Christian FamilyStanley Tan
The document provides a 7-step process for resolving family conflicts based on biblical principles: 1) Pray for wisdom and God's will, 2) Seek to understand the root causes, 3) Determine written resolutions, 4) Commit to pursuing resolutions, 5) Encourage and help with resolutions, 6) Pray daily until resolutions are achieved, 7) Seek counseling if facing difficulties. The goal is bringing peace to families through resolving issues in a godly manner.
The document summarizes key aspects of Paul's first letter to the Thessalonians. It discusses Paul setting a true Christ-like example for the believers through thankful prayers, work of faith, labor of love, and steadfast hope. Paul also established tender relationships with believers like a nurse, father, and brother to encourage and strengthen their faith. Paul provided a transforming hope by outlining believers' life of hope, love from hope, and limitless future in hope upon Christ's return. The letter also offers tips on having an alert yet patient attitude and avoiding evil.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

Sermon text:Psalms 116

2. Psalms 116:8-11
1. The psalmist drifts back into prayer. He
recognizes that Yahweh had delivered him from
death. God has dried up his tears and kept his
feet from falling.
2. Because God has done this he will walk before the
Lord in the land of the living (vs. 10).
3. In the psalmist time of distress (alarm or haste), he
finds all men are liars. In other words they are not
reliable. However he does not lose faith in God.
3. Psalms 116:8-11 Application
• Psalms 118: It is better to trust in the LORD than to put
confidence in man.
• Proverbs 25:19 Confidence in an unfaithful man in time
of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.
• We need faithful christian brothers and sisters to edify
us in our time of trouble, while we pray to God.
• 1 Thessalonians 5:11; 2 Corinthians 1:3-4; Hebrews
10:24-25.
4. Psalm 116:12
•What shall I render to the LORD for all
His benefits toward me?
•Render (Heb. Shub) to return,
• What shall I return to the Lord for
what He has given us.
5. Psalm 116:13-14
• I shall lift up (or take up) the cup of salvation and call upon
the name of the LORD. The psalmist will take “the cup of
salvation” into his hands. He will accept and utilize with
gratitude what God has given him.
• A gift is not a gift until it is first received and enjoyed. God
has offered this cup an He will take it.
• The psalmist is going to continue to call upon the name of
the LORD in prayer and praise. He will with joy,
communicate to anyone who will lend an ear, that the
LORD was the one who delivered him!
6. Psalm 116:13-14
• I shall pay my vows to the LORD.
• The psalmist will keep his promises to the
LORD. He will not only keep each vow
made to the LORD, but he rejoices in
doing so.
• He will do so publicly. He is not ashamed
of what the Lord has done for him.
7. Psalm 116:13-14 Application
• Salvation is a gift (Romans 5:15 & 6:23; John
4:10; Ephesians 2:8)
• Christ took the cup of suffering that the Father
gave (Luke 22:42) Him so we can have
salvation, the forgiveness of sins.
• We have to call on the name of the Lord like
Paul to receive and enjoy the gift (Acts 22:16)
8. Psalms 116:15
• His trials have caused him to understand more about how
God cares for His people.
• John 10:28
• Acts 12 (Peter)
