Train Operators Final Draft
This study analyzed personality traits, cognitive abilities, and other characteristics of 170 train operators to identify significant relationships and differences. Cognitive ability was found to decrease with age and independently predicted job performance. Absences had the strongest relationship with performance ratings, while gender differences emerged for absences and ratings but not cognitive ability or lateness. Personality traits showed medium prediction of both performance and cognitive ability, and absences/lateness together strongly predicted ratings.
