Contemporary world media content means
the matter and content of media today’s
media organizations. These global and local
media organizations both print and
electronic category spew tons of textual,
audio, visual & graphic content on daily
bases. Though this content has wide variety
yet it has underlying similarities.

2. Need to analyze the contemporary
world media content
As we know media provides services ranging
from news, entertainment, advertising,
propaganda and spooking. We should be
able to analyze the content of contemporary
media. The ability to critically analyze the
media content sets standards of media
literacy in a society. A society or individuals
having high standards of media literacy are
less prone or vulnerable to the content that
is disguised for ulterior purposes.

3. Content Analysis of Global news
outlets
There are several global news media outlets and
they include Radio Channels like BBC, Voice of
America, DW, several News TV channels like BBC TV,
CNN, ALJAZEERA TV and International News
Agencies Like Reuter, AFP and AP.
With the exception of ALJAZEERA TV, that recently
joined this league, all these global media outlets are
established in western hemisphere. They carry the
western perception of world realities and hence
promote western value systems.

All global news media acts as guardian to
capitalism and promotes it accordingly. As all
these institutions have their very structure
based upon capitalism. They are paid by
advertisers so these media houses are natural
ally to the big corporations, multinational
companies and elite of every country.

entertainment outlets: Liberalism
These global news media organizations also favor
western liberalism and its satellite postulates.
Liberalism promotes values which are based on
experiences drawn by western civilization from its
past. In several eastern cultures these values are
considered controversial even toxic sometimes.
Gender role neutralization through feminineism,
LGBT and Queer acceptance in public space,
Individualism are some of the themes which are
voraciously advocated by these global news and
entertainment media.

6. Content Analysis of Global news &
entertainment outlets: Bias against Muslims
Most of the movies made in western hemisphere particularly of
WAR genre are made against Muslims. Bias against Muslims is also
visible in global news media coverage. Perspective of Islamic world
on world affairs remain absent in the coverage of news media
particularly on the issues involving Muslims as a party, may they be
Kashmir or Palestine, Bosnia, Mayanmar, East Taimur, South Sudan
or plight of Muslims in India.
This however is changing lately with the introduction of ALJAZEERA
TV. Being based in a Muslim country it also highlights Muslim
perspective of today’s realities. Leaving some exceptions of
provocations on the counts of blasphemy gradually we are watching
that western news outlets are lowering the level of their prejudice
against Muslims in general and in some cases accommodating
Muslim perspective vis a vis others.

Global news media outlets actively support the
political status quo in world affairs and hence
make sure the continuity of western hegemony
on world affairs. To ensure it these outlets favor
regimes in 3rd world countries, which were once
colonized, with lower level of public legitimacy.
They actively guard against any revolution or
upheaval seeking the process of decolonization.

8. Content analysis of Regional news outlets
There are several important players emerging regionally.
The regional European and specially Dutch and Danish media often publish
provocative and blasphemous caricatures and other content that offends Muslims.
This trait of behavior still lingers on. Charlie Habado is one such example
 Russian media: A young Russian outlet RT presents an alternative to western
political perspective. It is not necessarily against Muslim but it is also not in favor of
Islamic perspective of world. It broadcasts in more than six different influential
languages including English and Arabic.
 Chinese CGTN performs on communist style. It is funded by Govt. of China and is
not dependent on advertising. Its policy is to carry nationalistic view of Chinese
state. It stays neutral on issues involving Muslims and Islamic world.
 India has more than 500 news channels all competing for public viewership. As
seeds of radicalization has been successfully sown by RSS. The more radicalized
channel gets more TRP. So there is a race for radicalization among different media
outlets. The more a channel spews venom against Muslims, Kashmiris or Pakistan
the more rating it gets.

9. Content analysis of Regional news outlets
Some important regional media outlets are also evolving in Muslim
world.
 PRESS TV: This is a TV funded by Iranian govt. It vociferously takes
up the issues of Islamic world like Palestine, fight against DAESH and
Kashmir. Along with its news coverage from across the world it
provides deep analysis and opinions also. So much so that Gorge
Galway had been on its panel. But as being funded by Iran, it could
be easily slurred by some as representing only a religious section,
however this is a blame without proof.
 TRT TV: Another TV of Muslim world is funded by Turkish Govt. It
also raises voice on the issues of Muslim world much on the same
lines as Press TV do. In Indian episode of Kashmirs Lock down both
TRT and PRESS TV raised their full voice against Indian tyranny.

10. Content analysis of Regional Islamic Entertainment
Some important regional film industries are also evolving in Muslim world.
 Iranian cinema is immersed in deep realism. It rarely ever touches
political issues of Muslims world instead it gives its full attention on social
issues of Iranian society. As there are many cultural similarities between
Iran and Pakistan. If Pakistan expose itself before these films it will
strengthen our social fabric.
 Turkish Film industry is basically more akin to Hollywood action style
however its content is gradually taking political turn. Valley of Wolves
series and later on Ertugral have become new classics of Turkish cinema.
Another genre in which Turkish cinema has excelled is horror movies.
 Pakistani entertainment pattern is deeply influenced by Indian movies
however Pakistani TV drams had their own distinction till now. Borrowed
concepts are failing one after another but some stories striking upon
indigenous issues like MERI ZAAT ZARA e BAY NISHAN by Umera Ahmed
and MERAY PASS TUM HO by Khalil Ur Rahman Qamar have broken all
records of private channel entertainment.
