The Configuration Management is a process to establishing and maintaining a product’s
performance, functional and physical attributes with its requirements, design and functionalities
through its life.
In Configuration Management we making sure that these items are managed carefully in entire
project & product life cycle. It allows Software Tester to manage their testware and test outputs
using same configuration management mechanisms.
Configuration Management is a change control process. It is helps in managing & controlling the
versions of software and hardware configurations. It is used primarily when software
requirements change.

4. Audits
Configuration Audits are dividing into functional and physical configuration audits. Audits
occur either at delivery or at the moment of effecting the change. A functional configuration
audit ensures that functional and performance attributes of a configuration item are achieved.
