• Throughout the research stage of our production, I used technology to my full
advantage through the use of films, blogs and the internet.
• By using the internet I was able to research a variety of different aspects of my
    chosen genre, thrillers.
• For the research and planning I also had to make a storyboard, and by doing this I
hand drew it on paper and then took a picture of it on my camera and transferred
it onto my computer so I could upload it onto the blog. Here is an example of me
using numerous different technologies in order to complete one task.
• I also did the shot list using Microsoft Word- software that is primarily used for
documents. The text was much clearer by using word, and eliminated any possible
spelling mistakes and messy handwriting, whilst also allowing ourselves to change
features of the script whilst undergoing more planning and discussions with the
    group.
Filming
• We used a Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ100 which produced high quality videos in HD.
The 25mm wide-angle lens has about twice the shooting area of the standard
35mm lens. The powerful 24x optical zoom can be used both in still and motion
    picture recording.
• Specifically when filming the female getting ready, we filmed her reflection in the
mirror rather than her directly mainly just to display a clear high quality picture to
    the audience.
• The editing consisted of many different stages; the film clips in sequence alongside
effects, the creation of the titles and the sound editing.
• The film clips were imported into Final Cut Pro by using Log and Capture. This
allowed me to record our footage onto Final Cut Pro in real time and export it into
the sequence. This was a long process but also very effective.
• The titles were very easy to create and I did this on Final Cut Pro rather than on
Photoshop. I made the text to the font, size and position on the screen I desired
and then I used the handprint sign to flash up on the screen. The contrast in the
black and red connotes danger and blood. I came up with the name ‘Hindsight
Productions’ to suggest that the girl in hindsight probably would not have spoke to
this man if she knew his true identity.
• For non-diegetic sound in the video I had to use a website on the internet which
would convert YouTube videos to mp3 files. This specifically was for when I spray
the perfume, the audience can actually hear the sound over the music being
    played.
• Also we had to work closely with the blog alongside the production side of our film
opening. I had previous experience using the blogging website ‘Blogger’, so I found
it quite easy to adapt using a blog in order to produce our work. In order to upload
a picture or video we had to select upload and once completed we could change
the title, add a description or edit the picture.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
