To construct my film, I used a camera, tripod, a microphone, a windbreaker and a boom. To record the
film, I used a Canon eos digital slr. I haven’t used a camera as much as I would have been using one to
record this film. What I had to do was fairly basic, performing a pan and getting the angle right for every
shot. However I didn’t focus the camera for shots as I didn’t know how so I learnt how to focus the camera
which made the shots clear and a better quality. An advantage of this camera is that we could watch
footage back after filming, on the other hand, a disadvantage was that it packed up all background
noise and because of the dialogue was very unclear. To prevent this, I used a wind breaker which blocked
out all background noise to make the dialogue much clearer. The microphone also detected the speech
which also made the speech clearer. Other technology I used were things like my phone where I
recorded some dialogue to replace some speech which was very quiet, however this did not work as it
did not fit into the scene at all.

website. I chose the music as I felt it wold match the genre of my film and gave it a
traditional feel which was what I was aiming for. This was successful as my target
audience felt this as well. As I said I tried to use my phone to replace quite speech
which was did not work. To try and fix this again, I tried using Adobe Premiere Pro
to alter the sound however this also did not work. The only other option was re
filming again.
To fuse my footage together, I used Adobe Premiere Pro. This technology is good as it
is simple to use as you import all of your footage and then just select which ones you
want to use. There was a lot of tools to use but the main ones I used to put the clips
together was fades. The main fades I used were dip to blacks and cross fades. The
films which I researched into didn’t include many effects so I tried to keep it simple to
make the genre clear. Things like my titles were very similar to ‘The Godfather’ and
‘Scarface’ as these were my main inspiration. For my titles I just used after effects
which was also straight forward to use. I had only briefly used after effects before in
my GCSE project so I wasn’t overly confident but what I had to do didn’t require
much skill as it was quite plan simple titles that just faded in and out of the picture. The
only major effect I used was the ‘type writer’ for my production company.
