5 undersea cable systems have landing stations in the region: SAT-3,
Main One Cable, WACS, ACE and Glo1
11 coastal members have at least one landing station to undersea cable
system
Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger have at least 2 access routes to undersea
cables systems.
Guinea-Bissau is in the process of getting landing station on ACE

Over 45 million active connected smart phones on mobile
networks in 4Q14
2G networks will continue to be operational for the foreseeable
future
Mobile Broadband( 3G/4G) picking up
About 2.3 million active fixed lines in 4Q14; however trend is
negative.
Industry players are: MTN, Airtel, Orange, Etisalat, Glo
