Kenya
The Challenge
Over one million children in Kenya do not
regularly attend school. An integrated solution
was required to improve education access and
attendance.
The Solution
Avanti created Project iMlango to deliver
improved education for marginalised children.
The project combines: high speed internet
connectivity to rural schools; provision of tailored
online educational content and electronic
attendance monitoring with a conditional
payment to families to improve attendance.
The Results
The project is providing improved learning
outcomes to some 200 Kenyan schools,
demonstrating the benefits of satellite broadband
for rural education.

Thousands of schools in Tanzania are located
beyond the reach of fibre broadband. To
enhance learning, a resilient broadband
service capable of reaching these remote
schools in Tanzania was required.
The Solution
Avanti are delivering a high speed satellite
broadband installation programme across
Tanzania. Avanti’s Ka-band technology
enables e-learning to become part of the
schools core curriculum.

The Challenge
News gatherers need the freedom and flexibility
to broadcast quality live feeds from the most
difficult locations. Even small transmission
breaks during live broadcasting events are a
huge reputational threat.
The Solution
Avanti’s Ka-band news gathering product has
been developed to address these needs.
Reuters adopted Avanti’s SNG service in South
Africa for the duration of the Pistorius court trial.
Avanti’s lightweight, easy-to-deploy terminals
and low power consumption are appealing

Expanding access in the developing world can
be difficult. The needed investment in technology
coupled with the challenges of collecting
payment can act as a barrier to getting
communities online.
The Solution
Avanti has deployed high speed Wi-Fi hot spots
on many locations including in Tanzania. These
can are then used to provide Wi-Fi access to
local people.
Avanti has worked with local companies to
enable mobile wallet payments so users can be
charged micropayments in local currencies.
