- Say: Today (or tonight) is about class introductions, getting to know the participants, and District Manager introductions. Get participants excited and comfortable about their choice for enrolling into the H&R Block Income Tax course. Prior to presenting: Make sure to fill out the information for the second and the final slides. Next Side
- Enter your areas information on slide two and on slide 12 prior to the first session. Review slide-2 with the class. Introduce yourself to the class. Tell them a little about how long you have been with the company and what you like about working for H&R Block. Get to know participants in the class by conducting class introductions. Tell participants how glad you are they chose the H&R Block Income Tax Course as the beginning of a worthwhile, and life changing experience, whether they are offered a position with H&R Block or just want to broaden their tax knowledge. Assure participants you will be checking their progress midway through the course. Ask participants if they have questions. Next Side
- Use slide-3 to guide you through the introduction of the participants. As you go around the room, keep track of participants answers by writing notes on a whiteboard or flip chart. The next slide will more than likely capture most of their answers. Next Side

That is why we offer online quizzes and exams to measure your tax knowledge along the way. The training in this course will thoroughly prepare you for them. Results are provided almost instantly. As you can see you need to participate and don’t be afraid to ask questions. We want to make sure that you understand everything and our goal is for you to learn and to have fun while doing it. Ask: What else can you or we do to make sure you are successful? Reiterate participants suggestions to the entire class. Next Slide
- Say: You don’t need to bring much to be successful in the course. The instructor will provide the text book, workbook and forms. You will need to bring a pencil and a calculator. If you would like bring some extra note paper, that will be fine. Make sure you are prepared to learn and participate in the class. Pay attention to your instructor. Next Slide
- Say: I am sure that most of you want to know what you need to do to pass this course. During the course you will be taking quizzes and having graded reviews. You will also have to take a Mid-Term and Final Exam. You must have a cumulative score of at least 80% in order to achieve a passing grade. Along with your scores you also have to attend the class regularly. You must attend a minimum of 72 hours in class. Don’t be late. If for some reason you are unable to attend you may locate a substitute class time. The next slide will talk about the attendance requirements and what to do about making up a class. Next Slide

- It is very important that you attend all of the classes. As we just talked about you must attend at lease 72 hours in class time to pass the course. Make sure that you sign in and out of every class. You are allowed to make up a class but you must make sure to pick up a “Make-Up Attendance sheet from the instructor of the make-up class. Then bring it to your next regularly scheduled class and present it to your instructor. That way we can make sure you receive credit for attending. Pass out the attendance sheet for the participants to sign. Next Slide
