Parables of Jesus Series
"For the Fame of the King”
Luke 19:12-26
While Pastor Rick is on a sabbatical, each Sunday we will have a message
on selected parables. This week, Jim Trott shared a message on "The
Parable of Money Usage".
So He said, “A nobleman went to a distant country to receive a kingdom
for himself, and then return. And he called ten of his slaves, and gave
them ten minas and said to them, ‘Do business with this until I come
back.’ But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him,
saying, ‘We do not want this man to reign over us.’
When he returned, after receiving the kingdom, he ordered that these
slaves, to whom he had given the money, be called to him so that he
might know what business they had done. The first appeared, saying,
‘Master, your mina has made ten minas more.’ And he said to him,
‘Well done, good slave, because you have been faithful in a very little
thing, you are to be in authority over ten cities.’ The second came,
saying, ‘Your [k]mina, master, has made five minas.’ And he said to him
also, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’ Another came, saying,
‘Master, here is your mina, which I kept put away in a handkerchief; for
I was afraid of you, because you are an exacting man; you take up what
you did not lay down and reap what you did not sow.’ He *said to him,
‘By your own words I will judge you, you worthless slave. Did you know
that I am an exacting man, taking up what I did not lay down and
reaping what I did not sow? Then why did you not put my money in the

2. bank, and having come, I would have collected it with interest?’ Then
he said to the bystanders, ‘Take the mina away from him and give it to
the one who has the ten minas.’ And they said to him, ‘Master, he has
ten minas already.’ I tell you that to everyone who has, more shall be
given, but from the one who does not have, even what he does have
shall be taken away.
Faithful servants of Jesus are brave. They are fully commited and work
hard even when it is unpopular.
Faithful servants of Jesus are focused on His fame. They seek to know
Jesus' character and priorities and act and talk in a way that helps others
see Him in a favorable light.
Faithful servants of Jesus are filled. They seek to be empowered and
cooperate with the Spirit to extend the fame of Jesus.
The judgment is faithfulness to the command, not to the results.

KIDSHINE PERFORMING ARTS
FINAL PERFORMANCE
Friday, July 12, 7:00 PM
You're invited to see the final performance from a week of day camp
even if you don't have a child in the program. KIDSHINE is one of three
day camps we are sponsoring this summer to serve families in our church
and as an outreach to the community.
We hope you will join us in the Sanctuary on Friday evening to support
these kids.

6. The Woodinville Storehouse Food Bank
serves our community by serving
practical needs, building relationships,
and joining people in prayer. A weekly
donation shopping list of needed items
in always shown in our church bulletin
and in this newsletter.
Please take a moment to see if you can
become involved.
We are looking for another person to stock shelves for the Food Bank on
Mondays at 11:00 AM. There is also a need for a shopper once a month.

Vacation Bible School
July 22-26, 9 AM - 12 PM
