Watch one scene of your choice from Cinderella Man and listen to one of FDR's Fireside Chats. You can get access to these clips on YouTube. You can also rent the movie or get these items from your public library. Then answer the following question:
Given the morale (or lack of it) at the time, Cinderella Man not only strikes a poignant (look up the word if you don't know it) chord in the hearts of people going through the Great Depression but those today going through the Great Recession.
Select some key phrases or sentences that James Braddock said publicly to describe what he and his family were going through. What were the most moving and emotive things he said. Why were his words effective?

Even with the best of planning, life happens. Similar to last week, you will meet four hypothetical students who are attending ABC University. An unforeseen event happens to each one of them, and this event causes issues in their courses. Read each scenario and then:
1. Determine which student is the most likely to successfully navigate the unforeseen event and be able to remain in school. Explain why you selected that student.
2. Explain what behaviors or characteristics were problematic before the unforeseen event and how those behaviors/characteristics may have contributed to a harder challenge for them to navigate.

As the wireless access technology continues to evolve and become more flexible, planning and predicting performance of such networks becomes a challenging task. Often claims made in the popular media about the speed, scalability and reliability of the LTE networks are purely theoretical in nature, and the actual performance of these networks depends upon a myriad of factors. Understanding such factors and designing network deployments to achieve the maximal performance out of the given resources is indeed a critical task. In this lab exercise, we will study how OPNET Modeler/Guru can be used as a planning tool. We will use out-of-the-box reports, statistics, and other software tools to understand the network performance and how it relates to the LTE technology itself. Using planning workflows, we will optimize network parameters to achieve target objectives. The labs make use of OPNET Modeler/Guru, the Wireless module, and the specialized LTE model to perform this planning exercise. Over the course of the semester you will prepare a marketing plan that will demonstrate your ability to apply marketing concepts to a real-world product or service. This assessment is in lieu of a final examination and was designed to measure your performance on all course learning outcomes.
Your plan will follow the marketing plan outline illustrated in table 2.2 of your textbook and further described in Appendix 1: Sample Marketing Plan for Sonic, a fictional product. You will submit your Marketing Plan Term Project in two parts:

Marketing strategy, budgets, and controls (20 percent of final grade)

Your choice of a product or service is important. Here are some tips to help you select an appropriate product or service:
Select a consumer product or service that you or your family uses regularly. This will help give you insight into customer behaviors in the purchase decision and will also make it more interesting to work on because you like the product or service.
Do not
select an industrial or business-to-business good or service.
Select a product or service that is large enough to have something written about it or its industry. This will help you find industry trends and competitive information via library research.

In this assignment, you are going to construct a timeline in which you show how different events of the women's movement are interconnected.
For example, could you imagine the federal approval of the pill in 1960 without the previous ratification of the 19th Amendment in 1920? To what extent did the 19th century writings of Susan B Anthony influence the 1960s work of Betty Friedan or Gloria Steinem? Did women's decade-long involvement in the abolitionist movement influence other causes that women fought for after slavery was abolished? The questions you can ask are endless!

This assignment comes in two parts.
Part 1: Create a timeline that covers at least four major events of the women's movement. These do not necessarily have to be from the 1960s, and they can be within a relatively short timeframe (spanning just a few years), or a very long time frame (spanning a couple of centuries). It is entirely up to you! You can find templates for timelines online, or you create your own timeline in Word (Click on Insert, choose Illustrations, SmartArt for templates).
Part 2: Write a brief, 300-500 word commentary that explains how each of these four events that you have mentioned in your timeline is interrelated. In this commentary, you may write about how one event led into the next, and so on, or you may write about how one very significant event led to the other three. The way that you describe the interrelatedness of these events is up to you, but you must demonstrate that you understand how interconnected they are.
