1. Ethan Cade Rowland
• Major: Criminal Justice
• I am a hard working individual that will work until the job is done.
2. Three Favorite Assignments or Discussions
• Metacognition- I liked this discussion because it has shown me several ways to improve my learning ability.
I learned that you must learn the subject and not jut the “key words”. Another thing from this discussion
that I enjoyed was seeing how multitasking is a killer for grades and that you should only do one thing at a
time when studying.
• Stress- The stress discussion helped me understand how to cope wit stress mainly because your own mind
makes you stressed out. I did not know that those health problems were caused by stress. I also learned
that by just writing a letter to someone about how they stress you out will help you, but don’t mail it.
• Career Assignment- I liked this assignment because the career that I want was listed as one I should
pursue. I learned about the average pay and what qualities I need to have. I learned that I am a good fit
for that career.
3. Three Favorite Journals
• Journal 11- I liked this journal especially. This made me imagine a goal that I
had as a student. This helped me make myself believe that I could achieve this
goal.
• Journal 13- I like this journal because it showed me how bad I manage my
time. This journal showed me that I could prioritize certain activities such as
homework or other important things. I can now manage my time and include
things that I enjoy doing as well.
• Journal 28- I enjoyed this journal because it made me realize how important
personal integrity is in real life. Doing the right thing is important for anyone.
Keeping a commitment to something is also important.
4. My Favorite Week
• I enjoyed the “stress” week because it taught me a lot for the
future. I had not realized how stress can effect your health in such
a significant way. Also, your own mind is the real reason you are
stressed out instead of s certain person or event. I learned how to
cope with stress better such as writing a letter but just don’t mail
it.
5. Three Lessons
• Do not procrastinate because you have to rush and not create
quality work
• Do not tress yourself
• Make sure that you learn the subject, not key terms
6. Self-Assessment
-Accepting personal responsibility 51/55
-Discovering self-motivation 63/65
-Mastering self-management 39/46
-Employing interdependence 36/41
-Gaining self-awareness 46/52
-Adopting lifelong learning 49/57
-Developing emotional intelligence 50/56
-Believing in myself 54/59
When I completed this and started adding up the scores I was almost discouraged
by how low some of them were. After improving on each category I have now seen
that changing certain things has helped me succeed.
7. My Next Move Career Assignment
• This assignment helped me see what type of job I should pursue
with my life
• I learned that the career I plan to pursue is one that is
recommended for me
• I learned that my personality fits the career I want to enter
• I learned that the pay is not that bad and the benefits are okay as
well
