Mid shot of Eleanor on a chair talking directly to camera
Eleanor:
Hi, I’m Eleanor, the lead guitarist of Sunkissed Angels and I’m here to talk to you guys today about
our band and our newest single I/Me/Myself
Title card: Why did you decide to start the band?
Scene 1, Shot 2: Int/Day
Mid shot of Eleanor on a chair talking directly to camera
Eleanor:
Well, we had been thinking about it for a while, but lockdown was the push we needed. We were all
bored with every day being the same over and over again so we decided to make the leap, with most
of our sessions just being messing around over zoom for a while. We found our style through this, so
once we were together in person finally it really didn’t take long to get going and produce.
Title card: What was the inspiration for I/Me/Myself?
Scene 1, Shot 3: Footage from music video
Audio from the interview overlayed on footage from the music video. Uses footage from the bullying
scenes at the school
Eleanor:
Alfie and I wanted it to show the frustrations that come with the rigid gender boundaries and boxes
that people are put into. When coming up with the video, we chose to follow a school day of
someone struggling with these expectations and the bullying that many people face for not following
them. We decided to not really give the story of the video an ending in a way as we didn’t want to
give the usual ‘it’ll get better message’. Because while it most likely will get better, that doesn’t stop
the situation from being awful while it’s happening.
Title card: Why did you choose to set the video in a school?
2. Scene 1, Shot 4: Int/Day
Side on close up shot of Eleanor talking to the camera as if it hadn’t moved
Eleanor:
We had all just left school, so we wanted to speak to people around our age and show that they’re
not alone and other people understand what they’re going through. It let us explore the song's
themes and message in an environment that our audience are familiar with, which made it seem like
the perfect way to connect with those who had taken our song and saw themselves represented in
the lyrics. Also, we were on a tight budget and our old school let us use the site for free!
Title card: What was the process behind the costumes in the video?
Scene 1, Shot 5: Footage from music video
Audio from the interview overlayed on footage from the music video. Uses footage from Alfie
walking down the corridor at the school
Eleanor:
It was fairly simple really, we all still had our school uniforms and they were a great way for us to
show how people are restricted in the ways they can express themselves.
Footage in the background switches to the final scenes of the music video/BTS footage
For Alfie’s other costumes, we choose the brightest, most colourful outfits we owned to show the
joy that can come from dressing and acting the way you want. It was really fun doing the final scene
with all the outfit changes. I think Alfie was a bit surprised at some of the clothes we brought with
us, a lot of those didn’t make the final cut lol
Scene 1, Shot 6: Int/Day
