Whether your Kubernetes cluster is on AWS, Azure, Google, or on-premises; I'll demonstrate how to create a pipeline using managed solutions and open source projects.

Jari discuss the solutions and benefits of a deeply-integrated deployment pipeline for using technologies such as container management platforms, Docker containers, and CI/CD solutions. He also demonstrated deployment of a CI/CD pipeline using container management, as well as showed how to deploy a containerized application using Github, Travis, Kontena, CoreOS and DigitalOcean with a continuous delivery pipeline.
Attendees learned how the deployment process can be automated and significantly sped up by using containers and modern CI/CD pipeline tools. He explains how they had development teams deploy themselves by treating infrastructure as code that is automated, built, and tested. This allowed them to break down barriers and usher in a new wave of infrastructure development. Puppet was used for configuration management to containerize systems and help spread DevOps practices to other teams.

Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) is a managed container orchestration service that allows users to deploy, scale, and manage containerized applications. It offers fully managed Kubernetes clusters, enabling end-to-end deployment, scalability, and high availability. AKS manages the control plane of Kubernetes which includes components like etcd and the API server, allowing users to focus on managing applications. It provides a way to deploy and manage containerized applications without having to stand up or manage Kubernetes infrastructure.

Phil gives real world examples from IBM Cloud customers as well as detailing IBM's own transformation to a cloud native, container first approach to our own service delivery.

Using Docker in Production
CloudHero is a consultancy and infrastructure management company that is working on launching a product for full stack management and reporting of cloud infrastructure, servers, and containers. They were hired by Zonga, Romania's largest commercial music streaming service, to manage their infrastructure consisting of 30 servers across 2 datacenters storing 50+ TB of data. Previously, CloudHero struggled with slow and inconsistent deployments across environments due to differences in package and operating system versions on each server. They started using Docker to build standardized container images for each service and deploy them across all environments, which resulted in faster deployments, boot times under 1 second, easy rollbacks, and more efficient usage of host machine resources.
DevOps Practices @Pipedrive

1. Pipedrive has 150 software engineers and 20 infrastructure/quality engineers who use various technologies like Docker, Terraform, and Chef.
2. Their development environment uses Docker to provision developer environments quickly and reliably. Code is deployed through Jenkins to multiple environments and regions with automated testing at each stage.

My kubernetes toolkit
1. Kubectx and Kubens are utilities that help manage and switch between Kubernetes contexts and namespaces, saving time when working with multiple clusters.
2. Kustomize is a tool for managing Kubernetes manifests and applying patches, making it easier to maintain configurations than templates. It can be used to apply common labels, annotations, and add prefixes to all resource names.
3. Skaffold automates the build, push and deploy pipeline, enabling fast local Kubernetes development. It works with build tools like Docker, Jib, and deploy tools like Helm and Kustomize. It supports profiles for different environments.

Una manera de agregar visibildiad es definiendo los pasos a seguir como codigo, y no tiene que ver con usar sripts de bash. En esta charla aprenderas como crear CI/CD pipelines para contenedores y Kubernetes usando la interfaz grafica y como esto se traduce a codigo usando YAML.
7 Container Design Patterns
