The document discusses a survey of web services being conducted by the ESIP Federation's Technology Infusion Workgroup. The goals of the survey are to assess the variety of web services available for accessing and manipulating earth science data, understand the protocols and standards used, and get a sense of how the services are currently being utilized. The survey will be implemented as a flexible web form on the workgroup's website to collect information from the community on available services. The results could eventually be integrated with existing service catalogs like GCMD and ECHO. The workgroup is also discussing approaches to demonstrate linking between different service catalogs.
