This document provides step-by-step instructions for configuring a web server on Windows Server using Internet Information Services (IIS). 2. Concept of the Web Server
A Web Sever is a simple program that allows the access of files stored on a
computer to another computer over the network or internet. Most of the
online services and websites runs on web servers. So, if you wish, you can also
setup a web server on your Windows PC and host your own website there.
That’s right, you can create your own web server using Apache client.
There may be several reasons to create your own web server. For example- file
sharing or create a web site on your own computer. In simple terms, you
choose a directory on your computer and put files like music, video etc. in that
directory. Now, when you put the IP address or hostname of your computer the
in web browser you can see all the files from that folder and you can also
download those files.

3.  To configure a web server on
Windows Server, you can follow
these step-by-step instructions :
Install Internet Information Services (IIS):
● Open the "Server Manager" on your Windows Server.
STEP: 1

4. Select "Add Roles and Features" from the "Manage" menu.

5. In the “Select Installation type page“, select “Role-based or feature-based-
installation” and click “Next“

6. Select the server you will install NFS on and click
“Next“

7. Select Roles to install
In this “Select server roles” part check the “WebServer (IIS)” box then a pop-up window will come
up.

8. In the pop-up window, just click on “Add Features” then hit
“Next“.

9. Select the "Web Server (IIS)" role and its required
features.

10. After that click “Next” on the next three consecutive
windows as illustrated below.

13. On the “Confirm installation selections” page simply click on “Install” and
afford it some time to finish after which you just click “Close“.

the “Tools" menu

“Next“.

Open the “Web Server Home" on your Windows Server.

20. Open your browser either within the server or on a computer that can
access your IIS Server network and input its IP Address on the browser’s
search as shown below. If it loads, then we are good to go.

21. conclusion
After we are done installing IIS Webserver, we now have a lot to do such as
configuring Virtual Directories, using the default website, Adding Websites,
