Tools, skills and strategies using three approaches to teaching digital literacy.This was a webinar and presented on using a core set of digital literacies (linked to the general capabilities of the Australian Curriculum), this session will take you step by step through some teaching strategies to use for how digital skills can be taught or integrated.
Participants will be able to:
Identify digital literacies from the general capabilities of the Australian Curriculum and map them to sample curriculum outcomes
Identify teaching strategies to use for digital literacy instruction
Identify digital tools for use with instructional strategies
Teacher Tips for Using Video in the Classroom
The document provides tips for using video effectively in the classroom. It recommends starting with short, simple video segments at the beginning level. Choose videos that relate to topics already covered in class and spread viewing over multiple class periods. Integrate video as part of the curriculum rather than just using it occasionally. Devise activities before, during, and after viewing like building vocabulary from difficult segments beforehand. Keep videos short between 2-4 minutes and divide viewing with focused activities.

Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions.
Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
Complications of wound healing like infection, hyperpigmentation of scar, contractures, and keloid formation.

Each person in the group will create a brochure for their natural hazard. The group will create a video, poster, PowerPoint, or flipchart to present their natural hazard to the class.
