This document discusses various methods for water conservation in textile processing, which can reduce effluent volume and treatment costs. It describes measures like fixing leaks, installing water meters, reusing cooling and washing water, implementing countercurrent washing systems, and optimizing chemical usage. Case studies show that these practices achieved 25-73,000 liters per day of water savings and annual cost savings of up to Rs. 1,50,000 in some textile mills in India.
