This document is a summary of Ephesians 4:1-3 about maintaining unity in the church. It discusses how Paul exhorts believers to fulfill their duty of keeping unity through displaying attitudes of humility, gentleness, patience, enduring one another in love, and making an effort. These virtues are necessary for properly valuing others, controlling power, enduring imperfections, and binding the members together in love, which allows for maintaining the unity established by Christ.

Criar = fazer = dar origem a algo de natureza distinta.
Gerar = ser o Pai de = dar origem a algo da mesma natureza.
1 Thess. 5:16 commands that we should "Rejoice Evermore." Being joyous is directly related to how we perceive the circumstances surrounding us. No matter what happens - good or bad - we must see everything as the will of God and continue to give Him thanks always. This is the secret of being joyous.

2. Giving,
3. Singing,
4. Breaking of bread (Holy Communion), and
5. Prayers.
We hope this lesson will be beneficial to the saints and others outside the fold of God.
This series on the Scriptural Basis of the Church of Christ is organised by the Church as a refresher course to the brethren. We hope this lesson will be beneficial to the saints and others outside the fold of God.
A well-delivered presentation on the essence of giving for the economic transformation of a Christian. Dr. Ben Edoja uses biblical principles to emphasis the benefits that Christians stand to get when they give to God cheerfully and abundantly.
Bob Deffinbaugh, “When Paul wrote 1Timothy, he had been freed from his first Roman imprisonment and was carrying on his ministry (in Macedonia? – see 1 Timothy 1:3); as Paul writes 2 Timothy, he is once again in prison, and this time he is not nearly as optimistic about the outcome (2 Timothy 1:16; 2:9). Some have even suggested that Timothy may not have arrived before Paul was executed. Paul’s last words to Timothy sound very much like a farewell address. He is passing the torch of leadership to
Timothy, and to those who will succeed him. In 1 Timothy, Paul instructs Timothy how he should conduct his ministry in Ephesus; in 2 Timothy, Paul instructs Timothy how he should conduct himself and his ministry in the last days, in Paul’s absence.”
M. F. Sadler, “It was written from Rome shortly before the mart3nrdom of the apostle. It was written chiefly to urge Timothy to come to him, all his other companions in the service of Christ (excepting Luke) being away. One, Demas, had deserted him ; others, as Tychicus, he had sent away. But, though apparently sent for the purpose of urging Timothy to come to him quickly, it contains the most precious exhortation to him, and through him to all ministers, " to make full proof of their ministry," and this it does in the words of a dying man, who is " ready to be
offered, and the time of whose departure is at hand." Whatever special onslaughts of the evil one were yet in store for him, we have his expression of faith that God would carry him triumphantly through all.”
In this sermon, Bro. Peter Udoh encouraged the brethren as regards God promise of raising the dry bones amongst them. He also advised brethren to live according to God's commands so that they will inherit all of God's promises.
In this lesson, Brother Monday Umoh taught the brethren on leadership evaluation as regards the sustenance of the Church leadership. Please read for more insights.
In this lesson - "The Preacher's Effectiveness" (which is part of the Series "Sustaining the Church Leadership" - Bro. Nduaka Uwaezuoke taught the congregation on the role of the preacher in sustaining the leadership of the Church.
In this lesson, Appointing Elders (which is part of the theme "Sustaining the Church Leadership"), Bishop Essien Ekong taught the congregation the prerequisites for one who seeks to become an elder of the Church and the role of the Church in appointing elders.
In this presentation, Bro. Afoke Ben encouraged the brethren to be more committed in the activities of the Church and in being of good examples to their children. Read the presentation for more admonitions.
Taking his sermon by the Book of 2 Timothy 2:3-4, Bro. Chika Chikwendu admonished the brethren to exhibit qualities of soldiers in their service to God.
He discussed on that as good soldiers, Christians should exhibit the following qualities:
1. Be Good Followers of Christ,
2. Be Faithful in Service of Christ,
3. Should Possess Sound Knowledge of God, and
4. Be Determined Fighters.

God bless you. Happy Lord's Day to you all.
In this presentation, Bishop Essien Ekong (MD), an experienced medical practitioner, taught the brethren the need for family planning and child spacing. Family planning is needed for the recovery of the woman and man (physically and economically) after child birth, when the woman is having medical conditions which makes pregnancy risky to her health, and when the couple has decided to stop having children.
Read the presentation for all details about family planning methods. May the Lord bless you all in Jesus' name. Amen.

God is a refuge in times of trouble (vv. 1-3)
God is with us in times of trouble (vv. 4-7)
God must be thought of in times of trouble (vv. 8-11)
This is the 3rd lesson on the series on the Scriptural Basis of the Church of Christ, organised by the Church as a refresher course to the brethren.
In this lesson, the scriptural basis for the work of the Church were discussed:
1. Edification
2. Benevolence, and
3. Evangelism.
We hope this lesson will be beneficial to the saints and others outside the fold of God.
In Heb 8:3-5:
3) Every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices, and so it was necessary for this one also to have something to offer. 4) If he were on earth, he would not be a priest, for there are already men who offer the gifts prescribed by the law. 5) They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: "See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain."
This is a teaching presented during the 50-Sunday Programme of the Church of Christ, Sangotedo in order to edify the saints and visitors on the Pattern of Worship of the New Testament Church.
Matthew 22:39. "Love your neighbor as yourself." Our Lord Jesus, commanded that we should love our neighbours as we love ourselves, that this was the second most important commandment. Today, we are admonished to renew our love for our neighbours whether they are perceived as friends or enemies.

The Church as an organisation has her own challenges. Today, Bishop Itse Enonuya highlighted these challenges and recommended ways of overcoming them. These challenges and solutions are applicable in any Christian gathering.
Our beloved Bishop, Brother Itse Enonuya admonished and encouraged the congregation to grow her interest in the work of evangelism.
He asked this key question: What makes an evangelistic congregation?
In Summary:
1. An evangelistic congregation is one committed to pleasing their Lord,
2. An evangelistic congregation is one that is committed to a spiritual relationship with Jehovah God.
3. An evangelistic congregation is one that is completely committed to the concept of reaching out to the lost.
4. An evangelistic congregation is one that is balanced in reaching out to the lost.
In life there are certain things that are priceless. Once we sell them it become difficult and sometimes impossible to buy back.
We must realize that we have bought with a higher price and a higher premium placed on us by God. Therefore, we must not cheapen ourselves.
Finally, I want to leave you with this philosophical quote: “THE INTEGRITY OF A MAN IS NOT ON HOW MUCH HE CAN ACCEPT, BUT ON HOW MUCH HE CAN REJECT, EVEN WHEN HE IS IN A POSITION TO ACCEPT”.
As Christians, we have various possessions. We are gifted by the Holy Spirit in various ways. It is our duty as Christians to protect these possessions through Faith in God. Read this wonderful presentation for the full text of the sermon by Bro. Emem Idango.
While some claim the above, some other believe argue that God chose the redeemed before the world began, and that redemption, therefore, is entirely unconditional.
So the question is do I need to meet any condition(s) before I’ll be saved? If yes, does this condition require effort, consistency and commitment?

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

2. INTRODUCTION
For three chapters, Paul has dealt with
“doctrine” in which he has described both:
Our spiritual “possessions ” in Christ (1)
Our spiritual “position” in Christ (2,3)
In the remaining three chapters of this
epistle, Paul will focus on “duty”, i.e.,
responsibilities that are ours because of the
blessings we enjoy as described in the
previous chapters
3. Of the blessings described, one upon
which Paul elaborated is the “unity” that
we have in Christ by virtue of His work on
the cross...
He has reconciled both Jew and Gentile to
God in “one body” - Ep 2:14-16
Now, Gentiles can be fellow heirs, of the
“same body” - Ep 3:6
4. It should not be surprising, then, that the
first duty that Paul exhorts us to fulfill is
“to keep the unity of the Spirit in the
bond of peace” - Eph 4:3
Christ “attained” this unity by His work on
the cross
Our task is to “maintain” it
5. Beginning, then, with a charge to “walk
worthy of the calling with which you were
called” (Eph 4:1), Paul describes how to
have a “worthy walk”, and that is by
displaying...]
6. THE “ATTITUDES” FOR
MAINTAINING UNITY (1-3)
A. LOWLINESS...
This word means:
The having a humble opinion of one’s self
A deep sense of one’s (moral) littleness
Modesty, humility, lowliness of mind
7. This virtue is necessary in order to
properly value others around you - cf. Phi
2:3-4
Without this virtue, members in the body
begin trying to be the “head” of the
body, a role reserved only for Christ
8. B. GENTLENESS...
This word can be translated as gentleness,
mildness, meekness
It is not a quality of weakness, but of power
under control
Moses was a meek man (Num 12:3), but
capable of great strength and boldness
9. Jesus was “meek and lowly in heart” (Mt
11:29), but we see where He drove the
money changers out of the temple
Thus it is being gentle, even when there
is the potential for being harsh, but
gentleness is more conducive for
maintaining unity
10. C. LONG-SUFFERING...
The idea here is one of patience,
forbearance, longsuffering, slowness in
avenging wrongs
When the body consists of members who are
not perfect, and often sin against each
other, maintaining unity is not possible
unless they are willing to endure each
other’s imperfections
11. BEARINGWITHONEANOTHERINLOVE...
Similar to longsuffering, “bearing” means to
sustain, to bear, to endure
What makes such “longsuffering” and
“forbearance” possible is another virtue:
“love”
12. As Paul wrote in his chapter on love: “love
suffers long...is not provoked” - 1 Co 13:4-5
Indeed, the virtue of love is the “tie” that
binds all these virtues together - cf. Co 3:12-
14
13. ENDEAVOR...
Displaying these virtues does not come
naturally nor easy, nor does maintaining unity
Thus the need for much effort, as Paul uses a
word which means “to exert one’s self,
endeavor, give diligence”
14. Only by giving diligence to display ALL
these virtues, can we hope to “keep
(maintain) the unity of the Spirit in the
bond of peace” (Ep 4:3). But just as
important as having the right “attitudes”,
is understanding and holding to...]
