EVANGELISM 101: Lesson 1 - Biblical Foundations of EvangelismFrancis Hernandez
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” (Romans 10:13-15)
"It (Evangelism) comes from the same Greek word for gospel (euangelion) and means, literally, “gospeling.” When we evangelize we are “gospeling” — we are spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ." - https://www.ligonier.org/learn/devotionals/what-evangelism/
Every Christian is called to do the divine task of evangelism. Evangelism is a task not just for the select churches, or for the evangelists or pastors. This is Lesson 1 of EVANGELISM 101 Series. In Heb 8:3-5:
3) Every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices, and so it was necessary for this one also to have something to offer. 4) If he were on earth, he would not be a priest, for there are already men who offer the gifts prescribed by the law. 5) They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: "See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain."

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

Members / Youth Involvement in Church Activities: A Sure Way to Building a Spiritually Matured Christian Church by Bro. Afoke Ben Afenogho
1. CHURCH OF CHRIST,
SANGOTEDO
Members / Youths Involvement in
Church Activities a Sure way to
building a Spiritually Matured
Christian and Church
A Sermon Presented by
Bro. Afoke Ben Afenogho
4 December 2016
2. Definition
Permit me to define church activities with
you as it pertains to a Christian as all
activities that brings you closer to what
God wants of you thereby ensuring a
Spiritually matured Christian and church.
These includes:
1. Fellowship: Heb 10:25
2. Worship
3. Study of the word. 2 Tim 2:15, Tim
3:16-17
4. Our attitude and relationship with all
men. 2 Cor 3:2-3 Phil 1:27
3. Discussion
The word has a strong power/effect on
the one who studies and teaches it, it
turns the mind, shape the individual,
makes the Person do what he/she
constantly study, develop and teach. Heb
4:12 ,Col 3:16.
You become what you do daily, so try
daily be involved in activities that
promote your faith in God, tell someone
about Christ always, show love so people
will have the confidence that God is love
Jn4:24 due to how you treat people.
4. Discussion
The father's of faith and pioneers of the
gospel and as recorded in the Bible for us
to emulate were those who lived daily by
doing good deeds and got involved daily in
kingdom activities to promote God's name
and kingdom.
5. Discussion
We can only achieve this feet by
being available to be taught,
studying what you have been taught
and teaching others what you have
learnt "evangelism, edification").
Acts 17:11 (these were more noble
than those in Thessalonica, in that
they received the word with all
readiness of mind searched the
scriptures daily whether those things
they heard were so).
6. Discussion
We can only achieve this feet by
being available to be taught,
studying what you have been
taught and teaching others what
you have learnt "evangelism,
edification").
Acts 17:11.
Parents to ensure they make out
time daily or weekly to have Bible
study with their families
7. Discussion
Deut 6:6,7, get them involved in
church activities, “children hear
your words but follow your
example”. Fathers it's time you
take up your role of being the
spiritual leader in your family and
make it a duty to be responsible for
the spiritual building of you family
before all you think you have been
working or all the years become
lost when your kids grow up. 2 Tim
3:15
8. Discussion
Prov 22:6 , even Jesus' parent recognized the
need for this hence he was always with them
for studies and worship. Lk 2: 41-46.
Young people pick role models from people
they are used to, if you want your wards to
emulate Christians then the fold is where
they must grow, if you want them to emulate
unbelievers then keep them away from the
gathering of the saints. Study with them and
Provide proper guidance for them or let them
learn from the world, am sure Satan has a lot
to teach through the TV, unrestricted and
readily available Internet ,the perverted
society (choose yea this day whom you will
serve).
9. Discussion
Be careful of some adults / aged
ones out there, because of their
age we easily trust them to be
responsible but they are more
deadly negative influence due to
their experience in life affairs
thereby making it easy for Them
to manipulate young ones leading
them far from God.
1 Cor 15:33
10. Discussion
In order to keep strong in our
Christian life, there are three
essentials. Just as in our physical life
we must breathe, eat, and exercise,
so in the spiritual life we must
observe these three essentials to
success and happiness. The Christian
life is a growth, and we must not
expect too great results at first, but,
if we follow these three essentials to
Christian life and growth, we shall
have happiness and joy in Christ's
service here on earth.
11. Discussion
We Grow by Eating
First, we must eat. What is the food
for spiritual life? “The words I have
spoken to you are spirit and they are
life.” (John 6:63) “When Your words
came, I ate them: they were my joy
and my heart’s delight.” (Jeremiah
15:16) Daily reading and studying of
the Bible are necessary to spiritual
growth and life. If we do not eat this
food for the soul, we shall not grow,
but shall finally starve spiritually.
Duet 6:6,7
12. Discussion
We Grow by Breathing
Second, we must breathe spiritually. Prayer is the
breath of the soul. l Thessalonians 5:17 tells us to
“Pray continually.” And in Romans 2:12 we read,
“Faithful in prayer.” “Do not be anxious about
anything, but in everything, by prayer and
petition, with thanksgiving, present your
requests to God.” (Philippians 4:6)
Prayer is the opening of the heart to God as to a
friend. “Ask, and it will be given to you.”
(Matthew 7:7) Prayer and its answer is a
wonderful theme, and a more wonderful
experience. It is the very breath of the soul.
Without prayer, the spiritual life will perish
sooner than from the lack of any other essential.
(See Matthew 7:7 and Mark 11:24)
13. Discussion
We Grow by Exercising
Third, we must exercise or
engage in Christian work. We are
to labor in God’s vineyard.
(Matthew 21:28) In what part of
it? Mark 16:15 tells us: “Go into
all the world and preach the good
news to all creation.” Jesus came
into the world— “…not to be
served, but to serve, and to give
His life as a ransom for many.”
(Matthew 20:28)
14. Discussion
Strong Muscle This is service and
salvation for others, which is
food, and life and exercise. As we
take Christ’s name, we shall
follow in His steps, doing what
we can to help the needy, relieve
the distressed, and encourage
the down-hearted. Most of all,
we shall do our utmost, losing no
opportunity to point sinners to
“the Lamb of God, who takes
away the sin of the
15. Discussion
world!” (John 1:29) Feeding on
the Word, keeping the heart
constantly in the spirit of
prayer, and consecrating our
energies to the eternal welfare
of our fellow men—that’s the
ideal Christian life, the
happiest, most satisfactory life
that man can know on this
earth.
16. Discussion
Let me bear my personal
testimony—its great to be a
Christian! Friends won’t you give
God a chance in your life? Won’t
you become a Christian? Won’t
you take these steps—these steps
to Christ.
Hear the gospel Rom 10:17,
Believe Mk 16:15,16, Repent of
your Sins Ac 2:38, Confess your

17. Discussion
