This completes the cycle as infiltrated water returns to bodies of water through subsurface flow.

It consists of four main stages: 1) Evaporation, where the sun heats water in oceans, lakes, and soil causing it to evaporate into water vapor in the air. 2) Condensation, where water vapor cools and condenses into liquid water droplets forming clouds. 3) Precipitation, where clouds become too heavy and water falls back to Earth as rain or snow. 4) Collection, where precipitation is stored in oceans, lakes, soil or runs off as streams eventually reaching oceans to repeat the cycle. The water cycle is continuous, with no beginning or end.

Types of rocks
