Skill I will identify the  theme  of a story, and be able to place the events in  sequential order .
Skill - Theme The theme of the story is what we learn from reading the story. It is the lesson or message of the story.
Skill - Theme There are 3 things that help us figure out the theme. Character Traits Character Actions Character Motives
Skill - Sequence Sequential order means putting the events in the order they happened. We sometimes call this time order or chronological order.
Skill - Sequence To use sequential order, look for transition words. First, next, then In the beginning, later, finally In 1908, two years later, in  the end
Vocabulary Get ready to learn some new words that will help us better understand our story. Also, having a big vocabulary makes us sound smart!
A person that is well known and important Eminent
Showing kindness by giving money or gifts to organizations that need them Charity
A person does not brag or show off Modest
Someone is unhappy because things have not turned out the way they wanted them to Disgruntled
Not good as large as something needs to be  Inadequate
Feeling shock or disgusted about something Aghast
Upset about something and not sure how to deal with it. Dismayed
Making positive changes to something Amends
Someone who forgets things easily Absentminded
Mix of different things usually mixed together with no planning Concoction
