An extreme long shot is taken from a quarter mile away and provides a wide establishing view with little detail. A long shot shows a full human body from a distance of about life size. A medium shot contains a figure from the knees up and focuses on dialogue or action details. An extreme close-up magnifies a small part of the face or object, removing all background context. Camera angles like high angles make subjects seem smaller while low angles convey a sense of power over the viewer. Camera movements include static shots as well as dynamic shots like pans, tilts, tracks, handheld shots, cranes and aerial views from helicopters.

CREATIVE CRITICAL REFLECTION

Camera shots & angles

This PIPP will explore the cognitive processes employed by learners in a drama lesson and see how they relate to the development of higher order thinking skills. Reference will be made to Fisher's model of language learning, Heathcote's premise that drama IS education, Baldwin’s cross reference chart and Cummins´ quadrant of cognitive processes. There will be some theory and lots of activity.

Jan von holloben perspective
Jan von Holloben is a photographer known for his "Dreams of Flying" series from 2002 to 2008, where he brings childhood dreams and memories to life through photographs of children from his local neighborhood in Southwest Germany engaging in imaginative acts like crossing deserts on dogs or searching for treasures at the bottom of the ocean. He draws from his background in film and childhood therapy to visually represent concepts of childhood history and play, combining theories from his teaching career with personal experiences to inspire the photographs in his nostalgia-inducing series.
