Dear students, here we are showing you how to do still life drawing in
three methods.
1. Pencil drawing
2. Pen drawing
3. Any medium for coloring
First week-natural object : Fruits/flower and leaf
Second week- natural object : vegetable
Third week- man made objects
We expect you to draw three different still life in three different mediums.
Kindly follow the instruction so that you can create beautiful drawing
2. Step : 1
• Take an object
• Place in front of you
• Make sure there is proper light inside
your room
• Till you finish your work, your are not
suppose to move the object.
3. Step :2
• You can draw this still life in your drawing note or
in A4 sheet
• Observe the objects shape, width, height
properly.
• Observe where the light falls on your object
• Give importance to space allotment. Drawing
should be in the middle of the paper.
4. Step-3
• Now draw the out line of your object
• Make sure to draw very light
5. Step-4
• Now you can start shading your object
• start shading from lighter to darker
• Important point that you have to keep in
your mind is, if you are shading or
colouring always start from top to bottom
6. Step-5
• Once your object shading /colouring done, you can observe
the shades under your objects
• So now you can do shading.
• Important thing to remember is that, avoid shading
the place, where you can see the direct sunlight
falling on the object.its called highlight.
• Make sure that to use different types of depth in your
shade.
• Lightest shade- light reflecting area
• Next medium
• Dark and darkest shade can be seen in shadow too.
7. Steps to be followed for shading:
• Give lighter shade to the light exposing
area.
• Then go for middle tone
• For the shadows give darker tone near to
the object .
• For highlight do not shade
• This is the shading method for all the
objects.
