VISA AMERICAN
WHAT IS A VISA
 If you are a citizen of a foreign country, it is
likely that you will need a visa to enter the
United States of America (USA).
 A visa alone does not allow you entry into the
United States. A visa only indicates that your
request has been reviewed by a consular officer
at an embassy or a consulate, and that this
officer has determined that you are eligible to
enter the country for a specific purpose.
Determinations of visas are the responsibility of
the United States Department of State.
 A visa allows you to travel to the United States
until the port of entry (by land or by air) to ask
the immigration officer that will allow you to
enter the country. This officer has the sole
authority to allow between you to the United
States. He/the official decides how long you can
remain for any visit in particular. Cases of
migration are the responsibility of the
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) of the
United States.
