2. What is Virtual CHIP?
• Virtual CHIP is a way to bring an evidence-based
intensive lifestyle intervention to more people. It
involves the same program components of a traditional
CHIP class such as a trained facilitator, CHIP kit, and
blood draws, but is done via conference calls with
participants completing some of the course work on
their own time.
• Virtual CHIP is designed to provide group support, a key
component of traditional CHIP classes, through two
weekly “community engagement” group conference
calls.
• Accountability is built into Virtual CHIP through
retention-check quizzes.
