Village Visit Day-1
Village Name
Village Name is Mandam
Field Guide
Meenakshi Maam
Highlights
 The main source of livelihood for the village is Agriculture and Livestock. Some also
migrate to cities during off-season
 A cluster meeting was organized to discuss the topics on Sanitation, nutrition, water
supply and budget maintenance and making accounts of different SHGs digitalized
Key Insights
 Due to ongoing agricultural schedule, the cluster meeting was not attended many of
the SHG members.
 Maximum of the members are not willing to maintain a common account of the cluster
rather than of the group.
 Maximum of them have still not yet digitalized their accounts for which they need more
motivation
Village Name
Village Name is Badsialinai
Field Guide
Soubhagya Sir
Highlights
 The main source of livelihood for the village is Agriculture and Livestock.
 A SHG meeting was organized to discuss vaccination to be given to the Livestocks
and buying of a competent male goat which they termed as “Buda”.
Key Insights
 Although the meeting was attended by maximum of the group members, they were not
able to discuss whether to bring the competitive male partner for their goats or not
 Their financial records were well maintained
 Although the purchase of the goat can be beneficiary for them in the long run, they
were mainly concerned about the short run
 And concerning agriculture, they were reluctant to grow vegetables.
Village Visit Day-2
Village Name
Village Name is Calanda, Chaturisahi, Bhimasahi
Field Guide
Kaustav Sir
Highlights
 The main source of livelihood for these villages is Agriculture and Livestock.
 A SHG meeting was organized to discuss the topics on organic preparation of
medicine for plants, available technology and advantages of modern agricultural
practices.
 Then some facts about the Kitchen Garden Model was shared and it was inquired
whether those who had earlier attended the demonstration of Kitchen Garden Model
applied the techniques in their backyard.
 Then we visited the 30-40 rule plantation where a eroded land is made suitable for
plantation
 Then we visited to see a hybrid variety of corn but unfortunately we were not able to
see that.
Key Insights
 Still women are not considered to be farmers and always a male is portrayed as a
farmer whereas in reality maximum of the agriculture activities are done by female. So
steps should be taken on the basis of which a woman can be viewed as an
agriculturist.
 Despite giving clear demonstration of Kitchen Garden Model people don’t adapt to the
changes and they are needed to be reminded continuously.
 Converting an eroded land into plantation zone using 30-40 rule is commendable.
Village Visit Day-3
Village Name
Village Name is Dananga, Ksirtangira, Baunsuni, Budhikakudi
Field Guide
Padma Sir
Highlights
 The main source of livelihood for these villages is Agriculture.
 We first saw the weeder in action and the benefits of line wise plantation of rice.
 Then we saw the plantation of Cauliflower and other vegetables.
 Then we saw how a Vermicompost is made and saw a live example.
 Then we saw a Transplanter in action
 Then we saw the preparation of organic medicine and preparation for selling them for
commercial purposes.
 Then we saw the backyard plantation of vegetables like Cauliflower, Brinjal etc.
Key Insights
 I was impressed by the level of participation of farmers to adapting the changes and
converting to organic methods of farming.
 The mechanization adapted was surely praise worthy.
 Multi cropping is practiced here and due to these changes farmers are comparatively
well off than other areas, I have visited.
Village Visit Day-4
Village Name
Village Name is Tentuliposhi
Field Guide
Baburam Sir
Highlights
 The main source of livelihood for these villages is Agriculture & Livestock.
 The average income of small and marginal farmer is around Rs.20k, which is targeted
to increase by 2 times by the next agricultural year.
 So under Mahila Kisan Sashaltikaran Yojana (MKSP), the pumps were installed which
can irrigate the lands of five families.
Village Visit Day-5
Village Name
Village Name is Kaptira under Matiagarah Panchayat
Field Guide
Soumyashree Ma’am
Highlights
 The main source of livelihood for these villages is Agriculture – Maize, Brinjal, Corn,
Paddy, Tomato, Pulses etc.
 We visited the fields and saw various plantation zones.
 A meeting was held about the installation of toilets under Swach Bharat Yojana.
Key Insights
 .Effective communication strategies should be implemented for everyone to make their
views public.
 Still inorganic methods are practiced. Rather than weeding the grass out people are
resorting to easy method of spraying chemicals and pesticides.
Summary
From the above visits, I concluded that “Progress is a thought”. As long as there is
change in thought of people, they can’t develop. So, the strategic plans should be adapted so
that people thought process change and they look towards the oblivion of success rather than
falling back to the primitive practices which makes their growth stagnant or declining.
As per the organization is concerned, the entrepreneurial environment provided by Pradan
pushes an individual to perform beyond its limits and I admire this practice the most.
Furthermore the diversification of work will surely help me build myself for future.
