Vincent Van Gogh was a Dutch post-Impressionist painter born in 1853 in Groot-Zundert, Netherlands. He was mostly self-taught and started painting regularly in 1881. In 1886, he moved to Paris to live with his brother Theo, who was his strongest supporter. In 1888, Van Gogh settled in Arles, France. After completing his painting "Crows on the cornfield", he shot himself in 1890, saying "I risk my life for my work". His fame grew after his death, thanks to promotion by his brother Theo's wife. Some of his most famous paintings include "The Potato Eaters", "The Bedroom", "Cypresses", "
