 Can be modified by adverbs or prepositional phrases
 Gerund with all of it’s modifiers is a Gerund Phrase
 Gerund Phrase starts with the Gerund and goes until a verb or punctuation
 Gerund Phrases always function as nouns
 Shauna won by making a twenty foot putt.
 Winning the tournament was a life long dream of mine.
 In a moment Lennie came crashing through the brush.
 Always modifies the noun
