Editor's Notes

  • #4 Here you would put in information and data about the company, its history – giving details under each headinge.g., under Employees you could add details of number of employees in the company, your people profiles – education background, years of experience etc. Similarly for the partners / owners details of experience and backgroundUnder Environment – carbon footprint
  • #5 This slide gives a concise account of the progress of the company, key players and the story so far – it allows you to add information and images along the timeline. e.g., Add info about when the company was launched, major clients that came in, branch offices that opened in new locations, major targets you achieved etc. You an also add relevant images.
  • #6 Organizational Structure; People reporting; key people in management e.g, CEO – Functional Heads (Marketing , Finance, HR) etc.
  • #7 Here you would plot the point/ position where your Business Idea/ Venture falls in this matrix. Is it a high Potential Business in an industry with medium potential to grow – or is it a low growth industry where you have high potential to leverage your strength. e.g. A person with experience in the travel industry wants to make a foray into the hotel industry. The potential to leverage strength would be high – good contact base, related industry experience etc. but the hotel industry is saturated so the industry potential would be low. You could also use this matrix to evaluate 2 or 3 Ideas/ Propositions as shown above.
  • #8 The Plan - Putting the whole thing together – the Business Plan in one page Here you could also mention Supply issues, Economic issues and execution issues that you forsee in implementation
  • #9 Here you could talk about milestones executed at different time periods. e.g. Plan People – In the first year you would hire 100 people, Year 3 you would grow to a size of 350 employees etc. Or you could also talk about other milestones of the Business that you plan to achieve at different stages – Year 1 / Year 3 / Year 5
  • #10 Similar to previous slide but Milestones for a single year
  • #11 Depicts how you are connected with all your stake holders
  • #12 Raw material to output – how does the whole thing operate –what is critical to your business? You could emphasize the point where your company adds maximum value in the Value Chain. E.g. If selling water – marketing and sales would have to be key strengths. For a Courier Service – outbound and inbound logistics are crucial.
  • #13 The Funding Chain - How much is needed from the VC and at What Stage – It could be Seed Funding, First Round of funding, Second Round or the IPO Stage. Generally though seed funding happens at a an early stage and comes in from family, friends, relatives.
