2. Folio of work
Each week in Child Development you will have a
choice about how you demonstrate your learning for
the topic.
It will be one of your main assessment tasks for this
unit to be handed in at the end of semester.
Work should be completed by the end of Thursday’s
class each week unless extension is given by the
teacher.
At the end of each Thursday lesson will will complete a
whole class review on the topic learnt.

5. Task 1
Answer chapter questions on Variations between
families Questions 1, 2, 3 and investigate 2
traditional festivals celebrated by each of the five
religions.
The home questions 1, 2, 3 and extension
question.
Extension 2: What are the opposites of what is
shown in pictures A to H? For each opposite state
which aspect of development is disadvantaged.
6. Task 2
Investigate the aspects of development (pg 14
The Home) in detail, explaining why each is
important for children.
Explain how feelings attitudes of family,
culture and religion could influence
development (positives and negatives).
7. Task 3
Reflect on your upbringing. Explain how the
aspects of development were encouraged or
discouraged in your home environment.

upbringing by …
8. Task 4
On a TV show (or shows) or Movie find and
explain examples of positive and negative
influences on each aspect of child
development.
9. Task 5
Examine an episode of Super Nanny from
You Tube and explain how aspects of
development are met or not met.
Specifically look at before and after Super
Nanny comes.
10. Task 6
Debate:
Get a good understanding on the positives
and negatives on home life and development.
Create an argument for and against this
statement:
It is possible to be a well developed person in
all areas regardless of your home life.
